Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 190 - Ch. 190 Extra Points

It had been almost three months since Max's return to England. And just as the man had promised, Max never missed a call to Chleo every day. He also grew Chleo's favorite camellia flower every morning in front of her house.

Whenever Chleo woke up, Max always vid-called her and gave a 'good morning' to her, and when he opened the bedroom window, he always found camellia flowers in her yard, even though she never planted the flower seeds.

Sometimes she wondered how Max grew flowers wherever Chleo was. Her parents were confused because the same camellia flower always grew on her birthday.

Chleo knew that it was her ice prince who gave her the flowers, but she didn't know how he did it. Well, having powers that ordinary humans don't have, anything is possible for that guy.

In any case, even though Chleo could not meet her most beloved one in person, her heart never felt lonely, as if the man was always by her side.

Now they were entering the summer session, and Chleo was preparing her thesis material and her thesis; she couldn't sit back and have fun like most of her friends, who were planning to finish college next year.

Her goal was to finish her studies this year.

That's why Chleo's daily life was packed with thesis preparation, meeting with her material instructor, and internship at Daphnia Fashion.

Until one day, one of her professors told her a piece of bad news—a super-duper bad one.

"Chleo, your philosophy test results this time were inferior to others. You need extra grades if you want to improve your grades. Otherwise, I'm afraid it would influence your other grades."

Chleo felt like fainting right then and there when he heard this. She was not too fond of this subject from the start. Sometimes the lesson didn't make sense and deviated from the principles of life that her parents have taught her so far.

And occasionally, Chleo answered the essays and exam questions with something that didn't match what the professor taught. But she never expected that the professor would fail her test, and it was bad enough to influence her other grades.

Chleo would do anything to improve her grades as long as she wasn't told to take extra classes. Her head would explode if she had to take another philosophy class with the same professor.

"What should I do to get extra points?"

"There's a camping program in Great Falls this summer. Whoever joins the program and completes all the tasks there well will get additional points."

Camping program? What does that have to do with her failed subject?

"Okay. I will join it." nevertheless, Chleo heeded his suggestion.

Only after that did she find out that the program was held by an orator from the tourism department. Because the participant was very few or almost non-existent, the dean decided to make this program an additional points for students in need.

In other words, they took advantage of the added score to increase the number of camping enthusiasts.

Chleo was frustrated when she heard about this case. It doesn't matter if camping is an added value for them, but does it have to be in Great Falls? Why not just Washington or Portland? It's closer than Great Falls.

The problem that Chleo was worried about wasn't the distance. No matter how far the distance, Chleo was willing to follow it if... they got on a plane.

The reality was that they would all be taking the bus, which would make their asses numb as the journey they would be taking would take about ten to twelve hours.

"So you're going to join?" asked Evie as they ate in the canteen together when they had a break time.

"I had to." Even though Chleo wanted to live like an ordinary girl and didn't mind taking a bus, she couldn't sit still for a dozen hours.

"You can get on a plane yourself and meet them there."

"Like it's never been brought up."

"Rejected?"

Chleo nodded disappointedly at her cousin's question. Apparently, not only Chleo but those students who desperately needed extra grades also complained about the same thing. They wished they could board the plane themselves to not sit for hours on the bus.

Unfortunately, they would be disqualified and would not get any marks if they did not follow this camping program properly.

"Seriously. I didn't think the tourism orator on this campus could have the heart to do this. Just let students from their majors take the bus while other majors take the plane. Why is it so hard?"

"Hahaha..." Chleo's laugh sounded very cynical, "Do you know how many tourism kids will join?"

"No. How many?"

"Fifteen people. Of the hundreds of tourism kids, only fifteen people will participate. Doesn't that mean this program will be very monotonous? I can't believe I agree to participate in it."

"Hmm? Why do I feel like you're in a bad mood for another reason? Surely not because of this boring program, right? Besides, I heard that the view of Great Falls is quite stunning. I wish I could go myself."

Chleo took a deep breath, knowing she wouldn't be able to hide anything from her cousin. It seems like she's not very good at keeping things secret either from Evie.

"You are right. Here." Chleo handed Evie a piece of paper.

"What's this?"

"List of those who will participate along with the group team that the committee has arranged."

"Oh? Interesting. What group are you in?"

Chleo purposely didn't answer and let Evie keep reading to find her name. As soon as Evie noticed her cousin's name, she looked at the list of names that had the same group as Chleo.

"Elaine Blair, Johann Lou, David White, and Ashley Grey?" now Evie understood why Chleo's mood had deteriorated. Chleo was in the same group as Ashley Gray, who had tyrannized her last semester.

Not only that, Elaine was one of Ashley's gang members and was also in the same group as her.

Would Chleo be alright?

"At least you have David in your group. He won't let Ashley trouble you."

"You know that's not where the problem lies."

"Is it because David likes you?" guessed Evie.

Chleo pursed her lips at Evie's guess. "Not that. Who said David likes me?"

"Ugh, my cousin is completely insensitive. Everyone also knows that David has a thing for you. I guess he didn't reveal it on purpose so your friendship wouldn't crack. You know for yourself the plight of those whom you have broken hearts. They just ran away as if there were no other girls in this world."

"Are you really my cousin? You're not helping me at all." Chleo leaned her head back on the dining table in despair. Ah, if she knew this, it would be better if she didn't have to join this program.

Let her grades drop a little. All the matters were that she graduated from this place.

"Then what are you going to do? Cancel it?"

"Of course not. I have to face her. And besides, I shouldn't be afraid of her, right? Why should I avoid her?"

Evie smiled broadly at that. "That's the Chleo I know. You'll be fine. Take it easy."

Chleo just nodded her head limply, hoping that everything would be fine. Ashley didn't bother her anymore because each of them was busy completing the course materials for this semester to take the final exam. But that doesn't mean the girl will be silent when she meets Chleo in person, right?

After all, human nature was difficult to change, especially when she found out that Ashley had deliberately hired someone to lock her up that night. Not to mention, it was the most important event in her life as her works were shown publicly.

The girl wasn't the one who kidnapped her and intended to kill her, but the fact that Ashley had hired someone to harm Chleo was undeniable.

Because of this, her father prepared two bodyguards to follow Chleo's bus from behind while two others would wait for her to arrive at Great Falls.

Even though the four bodyguards wouldn't show up as long as Chleo wasn't in danger, Chleo still felt that she couldn't be free from being watched.

Nevertheless, Chleo accepted her father's arrangement because she did not want to feel the same fear as when she fell from her father's company building.

On the day of departure for the camping program, all fifty students and three supervisors had gathered on campus. As much as possible, Chleo did not want to meet Ashley, which of course, was impossible. Because now they were face to face while getting on the bus.

Ashley tossed her hair like a shampoo ad and walked past Chleo arrogantly. Chleo glanced scornfully at the girl while snorting in disgust.

Well, at least she could feel relieved that Ashley was acting as usual even though the other girl wasn't bothering her anymore. She would have been worried if Ashley had suddenly been friendly and sucked up to her.

Chleo planned to avoid Ashley as much as possible.

Little did she know, the whole trip was orchestrated by the rogue Vectis.
