Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star
Chapter 191 - Ch. 191 Very Long Drive
During the trip, the students on the bus that Chleo rode were divided into three quarters. The part of the campers sitting in the back were kids who were overly excited and like crowds. Some brought guitars, and they sang a song that Chleo thought was quite vulgar in her innocent ear.
In the second quarter were the kids who idolized Ashley, and they sat in the middle. Most of them were young men willing to do whatever Ashley and her female friends told her to do.
Ashley and the rest of the gang listened to the children's songs in the back, smiling or winking seductively. They would gossip with each other, regardless of whether their target was to be on this bus or not.
In the last quarter, sat at the front of the bus were the kids who dislike to talk and prefer to mind their own business. Some played their gadget, and some read books. Some even fell asleep even though the bus was very noisy.
One of these last quarter was Chleo, who was now exchanging texts with Maximillian.
Since the hour difference between America and England was only five hours, Chleo had nothing to fear about disturbing the man. After all, Max himself would unquestionably take the time to respond to any text from Chleo no matter how busy he was.
Chleo: What are you doing now?
Max: I was having a casual chat with my co-workers.
Chleo: Am I bothering you?
Max: Absolutely not. My time belongs to you.
Chleo couldn't help but smile happily when she read his response, without knowing that Max was in a meeting with his directors and subordinate managers and discussing something dire. Of course, Max was still listening to the forum, but at the same time, he was also returning to his girlfriend's text messages.
Until at some point, Max smiled amusedly while the others fell silent, wondering if anything was funny about their meeting discussion.
Max cleared his throat awkwardly when he realized that the room suddenly became quiet.
"Please continue." he continued in a commanding tone, and instantly the discussion proceeded.
Even though Max's attention was focused on the meeting, once he got a reply from Chleo, his attention would be diverted and so on without Chleo knowing.
Chleo, who had been plugging in earphones while texting happily, didn't realize David was sitting next to her.
"Chleo, I heard there is a waterfall at the top of the hill. Would you like to see it with me?"
"Ah, I think it will be more fun to see it with others, don't you think?"
"You're right," David answered awkwardly while Chleo returned to her focus on her phone and did her best to stay away from the young man.
She didn't know whether David had a hidden agenda for her or not, but she remembered Evie saying this young man liked her as a man. If that was the case, Chleo needed to avoid this young man as much as possible.
Their bus stopped in Spokane for a lunch break. They ate in a simple restaurant that served salads and steaks. Two of Chleo's bodyguards who had been following their bus also stopped and mingled with other visitors to buy fast food.
After almost an hour of rest, everyone returned to the bus, and the committee chairperson took their names one by one to make sure no one was left behind.
As soon as everything was even according to the absence, their bus departed.
Unfortunately, Chleo's two bodyguards couldn't leave immediately because someone had deflated their wheels.
"Why would someone flatten our wheels? It's not like we have an enemy here, right?"
"In any case, we must inform Mr. Darrel."
One of them promptly called Darrel Alvianc and told them they couldn't catch Chleo's bus.
"I get it. I'll summon the others." without any suspicion, Darrell contacted his team in Spokane to catch up with Chleo's bus.
Luckily Chleo was still in the Washington area, so Darrel could quickly find a replacement for the girl's bodyguard. Unfortunately, the crew that Darrel contacted could not find the bus that Chleo was on. Instead, they followed another bus.
No one knew or suspected that all of these events, this summer's camping program and the flattened tires of Chleo's escort car, had been planned by the committee chairman. The committee chairman looked at Chleo, who was sitting next to him with a crooked smile as his eyes turned two different colors.
Apparently, the wanted rogue Vectis had disguised himself as the head of this camping program committee, and he was waiting for the right time to carry out his plan.
It had been almost ten hours since they had left Seattle and had been on a straight road with vast fields on both sides for two hours, but they had not yet arrived in the next town. This confused the driver, but he said nothing.
He estimated they should have arrived at the next town by now, and they should have arrived at The Great Falls in about an hour. But they were still on the highway mysteriously. As if it wasn't strange enough, there was no other vehicle besides the bus he was driving even though it was still evening.
Well, his job was just as a driver, so he decided to keep quiet. After all, no one was aware of this oddity, and most passengers would not know this route.
On the other hand, Chleo stared at the unvarying path began to yawn from boredom. She wondered how long they would traverse this long drive. Whenever she looked, they were only dry, empty fields with no buildings or trees.
The other friends were still joking around tirelessly until the sun began to set slowly.
"Hey, isn't our trip only twelve hours at most? Why haven't we arrived yet?" one of the kids started complaining which the other kids agreed.
"You're right. It's seven o'clock at night, and we've been in the same place ever since."
"You don't feel anything strange? Why aren't there any other transports here? Could it be that our driver doesn't know the way?"
"You mean we got lost?"
"Haish, don't scare us. We can't get lost as we're going through the highway that goes directly to Montana. So there's no way we could get lost."
Chleo only heard her friends whining while staring at the street next to her. She also felt she couldn't stand it anymore because her buttocks were already numb, but she didn't complain. After all, her friends had started voicing their grievances while their lectures calmed them down.
Chleo decided to rest some more when she felt a new presence next to her. And that person none other than Ashley who somewhat chose to sit next to her.
"What are you doing here?"
"It's very noisy in the back, and I'm tired of them. If you dislike my presence so much, feel free to move." her arrogant remarks made Chleo's jaw widen in disbelief.
Chleo sat there first, and she didn't want to change seats. What an unreasonable annoying girl!
Chleo decided to ignore the other girl and put back her earphones listening to her favorite song. She would just pretend it wasn't Ashley sitting next to her.
It wasn't long before a tunnel finally came into view, and the bus driver started to rejoice in his heart. After passing through this tunnel, they will enter the next city and arrive in Montana soon.
Unfortunately, as soon as their bus went into the tunnel, the room in the bus was pitch black, and suddenly their bus shook as if it had run over something.
The bus driver was shocked that he thought he had hit something, slammed the steering wheel in a panic, causing all the passengers to scream in horror.
Some kids' heads were slammed against the windows with a force that could tear their skin, while others were thrown from their seats and fell hard on the bus floor.
All of a sudden, their whole bodies lifted and spun around, crashing here and there, causing their heads and bodies to be injured by hitting the roof and the broken glass shards.
From the outside, the bus seemed to roll up violently like a big accident had occurred. When the bus stopped rolling, a committee chairman stood not far from the bus. Then his form changed into the actual figure of Vectis.
Alas, everyone without exception, including Chleo, had fallen unconscious, and her head was bleeding, and some bruises were visible on her skin. But Chleo's heart was still beating steadily, indicating Chleo was still alive and the wound was not as bad as the others.
"That kid is really lucky." the rogue Vectis stepped forward to confirm the fate of Chleo that he had set.
This time, he would make sure Chleo died right now by ripping off her heart, and no one could save the girl, not even by a ruler.. That way, the red soul of the girl that he had captured would not fade and return to its place.
