Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star
Chapter 192 - Ch. 192 The Unknown Desert
Vectis walked up to the bus and was about to take Chleo off the bus and kill her. He wanted to rip the girl's heart to ensure her death with his own hands.
He had been gathering the energies remnants of the rulers for a long time so that he would have the unlimited power to fight Aslan. And the only one most extraordinary energy remnants he had ever gathered was Chleo's crimson soul, which had once received a life energy transfusion from the Flame Queen.
But unbeknownst to him, time in this world was reversed and Chleora Regnz came back to life without the energy transfusion of the Flame Queen. As a result, the red soul he had obtained in the previous life began to fade, and some of it had entered Chleo's current body.
Thus, he had to take Chleo's soul once more and return some of the red souls that managed to escape to its origin.
He tried to take Kendrich soul as he was the current host of the energy remnants, but that boy was still young, so his soul's power was not that great.
He could wait for the boy to grow up and kill him, but he was impatient and couldn't wait longer. So he preferred to get the previous Chleo's soul and attack Aslan and destroy all the rulers of nature.
Only after that could all Vectis rule this human realm and devour their delicious heart.
Vectis was about to jump up to enter through the bus door when a powerful gust of wind attacked his body.
The rogue Vectis stuck his feet on the ground to keep his body from falling, then growled in annoyance while glancing at the source of the wind. He was somewhat surprised to see another Vectis there, standing on the bus in a protective manner.
The rogue Vectis wondered, had he made a mistake? Had he involved another blessed child?
Yuna's Vectis raised a hand, and slowly the bus that had rolled to the side now returned to its proper position. He also healed all the wounds on the bus passengers and returned the bodies of the passengers to their original sitting positions.
The rogue Vectis wouldn't let another Vectis interfere with his plans so he did something unexpected. He sent his shadow through his feet unnoticed to where Chleo's bench was and unleashed his energy to move Chleo to another place.
However, because he used his energy excessively due to his desparate to have her soul, his shadow brought along Chleo's seatmate by accident.
The Yuna's Vectis who wanted to protect Chleo had no idea the rogue one's actions had determined to hurt Chleo and it was too late to realize that the two girls were not in their seats. Yuna's Vectis glanced at the rogue Vectis but the creature was gone.
Damn!
Where did the evil Vectis take Chleo? He had to tell Yuna immediately. But regrettably, when the Vectis was about to return to his blessed child's side, a vortex suddenly appeared under his feet, forcing him to return to his original realm.
Yuna's Vectis was confused and worried. If he was forced to return to his realm, then he couldn't tell Yuna about Chleo's disappearance. If so, no one would know where Chleo was, and… the girl would be left unprotected and die eventually.
On the other hand, the bus passengers woke up from their stupor.
"Is everyone alright?" asked the rogue Vectis in disguise.
The assistants also checked everyone including the driver. After confirming that no one was hurt, they continued on their way as if the big accident just now had never happened.
To be precise, the rogue Vectis had altered their memories so that they only remembered the bus running over something and brake suddenly. But they had no recollection of having had a severe accident that resulted in injuries.
Vectis removed the names of two girls from the list and erased the memories of others regarding the presence of these two names.
No one remembered that Chleo West and Ashley Gray were on the same bus with them.
Far from the dark tunnel earlier, even further since they were no longer in America, two girls laid in the desert with the sun still at its peak.
Ashley was the first to wake up and was confused by her surroundings. She was a little panicked because she was alone in a strange place, but when Ashley noticed someone else lying next to her, she breathed a sigh of relief.
However... why should Chleo be with her right now?
Ashley had no other choice but to wake the girl up.
"Chleo, Chleo," she called while shaking Chleo's body. "Hey, wake up." this time Ashley shook Chleo harder, causing Chleo to groan in annoyance.
"Ugh!" Chleo finally woke up holding her head which felt dizzy. She got up to sit down and just realized her surroundings were filled with sand. Where is this? Shouldn't she be on the bus with the others?
"What did you do?" Chleo reflexively accused Ashley because she felt that the reason they were here was Ashley.
"Hey, why are you accusing me? I did nothing!" Ashley argued loudly. "If I knew this, I wouldn't have woken you up and left you here alone. Hmph!" Ashley rose to her feet and ignored Chleo.
She looked around in all directions, but she found nothing but… desert. Ashley couldn't stop thinking how her surroundings could change so mysteriously like this. Is she dreaming?
"Where are the others?" Chleo asked in a kinder tone. She realized she had accused Ashley without evidence and felt bad about it. Nevertheless, she won't apologize because she still had suspicions that Ashley was not an ordinary human.
"I don't know. When I woke up, we were already here."
"Just the two of us?"
"You think? Did you see anyone else again?" Ashley's sarcasm made Chleo snort in annoyance. "Did you bring your phone?"
Chleo reached into her jacket pocket, but only the i-pod was in her pocket.
"No. You?"
Ashley shook her head weakly. Why did they end up here without their bag? How could they ask for help when there was no phone?!
"Looks like we inevitably have to walk," Chleo suggested as she rose to her feet and patted her jeans which were stuck to the sand.
"And walk where? We don't even know what this place is."
"How about we try walking straight there?" Chleo raised her hand forward as if pointing in a direction. "After all, this place must have a corner. Maybe we will find a roadway after going straight ahead."
Ashley nodded her head because she didn't know what to do either. As a result, the two of them walked in the same direction but kept their distance from each other. They also walked in silence and neither of them was interested in talking.
The wind occasionally blew hard, and it made the sand sometimes get into their eyes, not to mention the scorching sun burning their skin and making them sweat.
After walking, who knows for how long, both of them began to feel thirsty and exhausted. They needed rest but would not be able to do it as long as the sun was still at its peak. They needed shelter to hide from the scorching sun.
At one point, Ashley fell as she could no longer walk. Chleo couldn't bear to see the girl who was lying limply on the sand plain. She walked over to Ashley then held out her hand.
"Come on, let's go up to the top of the dune, maybe we can see a shelter."
Ashley shook her head. "I'm on my last leg. You can go without me. I'll catch up later."
Chleo bit her lip and then walked up the slightly uphill road. As soon as she could stand on the hill, she saw a small lake with towering coconut trees. It was like an oasis in the middle of this desert. Chleo hoped this wasn't a hallucination and that the place was real.
Chleo rushed back to let Ashley know what she saw. Even though she didn't like Ashley, but they only had each other right now. She had to lower her ego and cooperate with the girl to get out of this place.
Too bad, Chleo had let go of her two beloved bracelets and left them at home. Knowing she would be camping in Great Falls, she feared losing those precious bracelets. Therefore, she left them at home without knowing there was a tracking chip in her bracelet. Stanley or her father could never track her whereabouts.
The only one who could track her was Harmonie, and even then, Chleo had to scream loudly so that the yellow king could hear her voice. Alas, Chleo didn't even think about shouting or remembering Moni's instruction.
All Chleo was thinking about right now was to find a way out of this desert and back to the bus where their friends were.
And thus, no one knew where Chleo and Ashley were.
