Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

With pounding hearts, Ashley and Chleo waited in their room while Bai Yu stood casually in the middle of the two.

The car's sound was the same as the jeep they were riding in when the black human offered them help appeared one by one. They didn't know how many cars were coming, but they knew there must be a lot of them.

The serene silence became a noise like the sound of a car racing.

The girls felt that dozens of cars had surrounded this place to block all the exits for them.

"Shouldn't we get out of here?" Chleo whispered in a barely audible voice. Luckily Bai Yu had such keen hearing that he was able to hear Chleo's whispers.

"Shhh. They won't be able to see you as long as you touch my body. But they can still hear your voice, so don't make a sound." that was the answer Bai Yu gave in a voice that was also low but loud enough for the two girls on the two sides to hear.

Chleo and Ashley immediately pressed their lips together and tried to breathe as slowly as possible so as not to make a loud sound.

Not long after, the door fell because someone broke the fragile door with a strong kick. Chleo and Ashley both covered their mouths not to scream right then and there.

The sudden slamming of the door shocked the two to the point of almost shrieking. Under normal conditions, they would scream if faced with a shocking situation like this. But they tried their best not to make a sound.

It was just then that several humans with the same dark skin as the ones who had helped them in the middle of the desert came in and inspected the entire room.

Miraculously, they didn't approach their position at all as if Bai Yu's body was a wall that didn't need to be examined.

Unbeknownst to them, Bai Yu had indeed created the illusion that all they could see were the walls of this hut so they wouldn't have to approach them.

After confirming that no human figures were living in this hut, the cannibals came out and returned to their respective vehicles one by one.

The sound of the vehicle's engine moving further and further made Chleo and Ashley breathe a sigh of relief. Miraculously, their legs both felt like jelly, and they leaned their bodies against Bai Yu's sturdy body.

Unconsciously, two pairs of eyes met, and as if recognizing the immense relief from each other, Chleo and Ashley smiled at each other.

At least they were safe for now.

"Chleo, what kind of beast is this exactly?" even though she was sure that there were no scary cannibals out there, Ashley still gripped Bai Yu's fur and spoke in a whisper-like voice.

"He… you could say he is a mystical beast."

"Mystical beast? You mean a guardian beast of the rulers?"

"Guardian beast?" Chleo gulped nervously and acted oblivious. "What do you mean?"

"Like a red wolf of the red king or the white eagle of the blue king, so it might..." Ashley couldn't continue her words as Chleo interrupted her.

"Hold on. How did you know about the red king or blue king?"

Ashley's eyes widened when she heard Chleo's question. "You ever met them? Where? What do they look like?"

"Ah? That… Ash, I'm serious. How did you know about the red king? I thought their exitance was a secret."

"Well, my grandfather was a former member of BZO, so..."

"BZO? What's that?"

"You've met the red king but don't know BZO?"

"That… I met her when I was little. Of course, I don't know what BZO is. So what is BZO?"

Then Ashley told what the BZO organization was, a group that monitors the movements of the red king's source of life energy.

Ashley's survival instinct and ability to analyze situations came from her grandfather. Her parents and grandfather indeed doted on Ashley very much. Still, her grandfather managed to suppress most of her arrogant nature and taught her many things that her parents never taught.

Occasionally, Ashley showed her arrogance on campus because she didn't want to be looked down upon and bullied by more powerful people than her. But at least, her personality didn't slump in the mud like the daughters of other rich people.

Ashley was proud of her father's power, but she didn't brag about her father's authority as if nothing could match her father's. She knew very well that there were people out there who were far more prosperous and more powerful than hers.

That's why Ashley was always looking for a way to get into the higher circle environment and looking for a potential husband who could raise her social status.

"Then what is the yellow king's guardian beast doing here?"

"To tell you the truth, the yellow king and the blue king are good friends. So I guess the blue king asked the yellow king for help to protect us."

"It seems impossible that the blue king wants to protect me. I don't know or have any relationship with the rulers of nature. So I guess the blue king asked the yellow king for help to protect you."

"…" This was what Chleo feared the most. It seemed that Ashley had begun to analyze the situation that had befallen them again.

Chleo didn't think Ashley could be so good at analyzing the situation. She hoped Ashley hadn't guessed that Max was the blue king.

Unbeknownst to Chleo, Ashley was currently recalling her encounter with Maximillian, who was suddenly out of sight. Her watery brain immediately guessed what was going on… exactly what Chleo was worried about.

"Could it be, your lover is the blue king?"

Chleo gulped nervously, then glanced in any direction other than the eyes of the girl who had just become her friend.

"Good heaven! So Maximillian, the owner of the largest shipping industry in the world, is the blue king!" Ashley screamed with her mouth wide as she covered her mouth with one hand. "Seriously!?"

"Shh! Don't be loud."

Ashley just giggled at her new friend's warning. Why is Chleo afraid of her speaking out loud when there are no humans around them anymore.

"And how do you know that Maximillian is the owner of the shipping industry anyway?"

"Uhm… I'll be honest with you, but don't be mad."

"Okay." Chleo was confused by Ashley's doubtful attitude. Will the girl make another confession?

"Actually, I've been eyeing master X for a long time since he came to Seattle. I knew from the start he owned the shipping industry and came to Seattle as chairman of Daphnia. So… when I heard that Master X made you a lover, I planned to sabotage your career by kidnapping you."

Ashley glanced at Chleo for any trace of anger in the girl's expression. But Chleo didn't react, and patiently listening to all of her words made her proceed to continue her explanation. "To be honest, I just told that person to lock you up somewhere so you couldn't show up to the event. I admit I was wrong, and I am very relieved to see you are okay in front of your house."

"You know what happened to me?"

"Hmm. Someone sent me a video. The video showed me that you were screaming for help on top of a tall building. I couldn't sleep that night because I was so worried about you. I even convinced myself that there was someone who was just playing pranks on me. I ended up staying awake the whole night. I decided to find out your home address the next morning and went straight to your place."

Chleo's heart was touched, and she felt compassion for Ashley. That night not only was Chleo pulsating nervously and frightened, but Ashley couldn't sleep well thinking about her safety either.

Ah, she truly felt sorry for letting her hatred blind her. Chleo should have noticed Ashley's change earlier. That way, their friendship could have been forged earlier.

Chleo walked circling the tiger beast, deciding to hug her new friend. "Thank you for explaining everything to me. We should forget what has passed and live what is in front of our eyes right now."

How amazing. Chleo's voice and words were able to lift all the burdens and regrets that enveloped her soul. For the first time since she received the gruesome video, Ashley felt like she was starting to get a good night's sleep.

"Thank you."

"My pleasure." and they both hugged each other for a second time. But the growling sound from Bai Yu broke their friendly environment.

"Grrrrrr!"

Chleo and Ashley let go of each other's arms to look at Bai Yu. They were astonished to see Bai Yu put on a scary expression that revealed two of his fangs that were so scary.

Suddenly there was a torpedo wind causing the old hut to elevate and float following the torpedo wind.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" the two girls screamed in shock, and it brought Bai Yu to realization.

Bai Yu spread his wings wide and enveloped the two girls' bodies to protect them from the massive torpedo's wind.

Not far away, the rogue Vectis appeared with an evil smirk.
