Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Harmonie peered straight ahead using her translucent vision. They would arrive only a little longer at the cave where Chleo and Max are waiting for them.

It would be faster if Harmonie and Bai Yu flew with the others, but Harmonie now chose to save up her energy and let Bai Yu rest.

Chu Jung, Alpha, and Vectis's stopped all at once, making Ashley confused.

"Chu Jung!!" roared Harmonie with an urgent voice, and without hearing the continuation, the red king sprinted toward Ashley at lightning speed.

He deftly lifted Ashley's body, making Ashley even more confused. Before she could protest, the ground on their footing shook and suddenly cracked and fell, creating a vast chasm.

Ashley widened her eyes, and subconsciously she wrapped her hands around Chu Jung's neck tightly as if her life depended on it.

The ground started to fall, and only Harmonie and Bai Yu could fly. In contrast, Alpha and Chu Jung and Yuna's Vectis got help from the wind created by Harmonie and Bai Yu.

"Are you all right?" Harmonie asked while glancing at her friends without noticing something popping up from below.

That something was like a plant root, but ordinary eyes couldn't see this thing. Even the Vectis couldn't see it because only the three-horned Vectis could see this type of root crop.

As if it knew who was floating in mid-air, this root had the intelligence to avoid Vectis as well as the rulers of nature. It chose the ordinary human girl as its main target.

The other roots emerged and now surrounded Chu Jung but did not touch the young man so that Chu Jung would not feel suspicious.

The four roots braced on Ashley's ankles and the girl's two wrists.

The root waited until everyone was off guard, the ready loops on Ashley's wrists and legs tightened tightly, binding her target, shocking Ashley half to death.

Ashley felt something like a large rope tying her wrists and legs, but strangely she didn't see anything binding them. Plus, nothing drastic had happened, so Ashley didn't think much of it.

However, the knots around her wrists tightened, making her wince in pain. It felt like something was clutching her wrists and legs as if they crushed her bones.

"What is it?" previously Chu Jung had indeed focused on the discussion between the yellow king and Vectis because he knew nothing about this world.

But when he heard the pained groan from the girl he was holding, his focus turned to the girl who looked pale.

"I… my hand hurts."

Chu Jung's eyebrows rose to hear that. "Let me see."

Ashley released her wrap on Chu Jung's neck only to show her hand to the young man. But that was a big mistake because this was what the roots were waiting for.

Right after Ashley no longer held the red king's neck and Chu Jung's embrace loosened to allow Ashley to move freely, the four roots simultaneously pulled Ashley down, causing Chu Jung and the others to feel shocked.

"AAAAAAAAAAAA!!"

How dare he drop Ashley!!! All of them cursed at the red king.

Regrettably, neither of them realized that four roots wrapped around Ashley's four wrists and feet, so they all thought that Chu Jung had purposedly dropped the poor girl down.

Chu Jung froze only for a second before jumping after Ashley that next second. Otherwise, it would be Harmonie who would come down, and once she managed to save Ashley, she herself would bury the red king to the bottom of this abyss.

"Bai Yu," without needing to continue her sentence, her guardian beast understood and flew down to catch up with the red king at high speed. 

"I don't believe it. He stupidly dropped her!!"

"Maybe it was an accident." neither did Alpha believe that Chu Jung would drop the human girl.

"Nevertheless, he is a sloppy ruler."

"I wouldn't argue that."

Not long after, they both heard a massive explosion from below, and a cloud of black smoke emerged from the bottom, making Harmonie wonder what was going on down there.

The red king couldn't possibly be rampaging at the bottom of the abyss, right?

On the other hand, Chu Jung had never felt panicked or scared like he was now.

Even when he first learned that he could create fire without any tools, he never felt terror-stricken.

But now…

When he saw Ashley fall from his arms with his own eyes, his brain went blank. He couldn't think and let his body act on its own and followed the girl.

He bit his lip hard as his heartbeat fast. His red eyes turned darker as he used all of his force to make his body descend more quickly.

He wished he could reach the girl before Ashley collided with the bottom of the cliff.

The more he plunged, the darker it got around him. Chu Jung activated his power and let his entire body be enveloped in blazing flames, and instantly the darkness around him brightened.

Finally, he saw Ashley, and there was a little more he would reach for the girl. Chu Jung stretched out his hand towards Ashley, and the girl did the same toward him.

Their hands were only inches apart, and it only took a little more; Chu Jung would be able to save Ashley. But suddenly, Ashley's hand was pulled to the side of her body again, leaving Chu Jung's mouth open.

Even Ashley herself was taken aback and glanced at her own hands in disbelief.

It was then that Chu Jung saw something wrapped around Ashley's hands. He couldn't see clearly because it was still activating its invisible skill.

But at this time, Chu Jung's eyesight was upgraded to the peak of his potential so he could see that something was wrong with Ashley's wrist.

He remembered the girl's words when she said her hand was hurting. It must be because of that damn thing!

Chu Jung realized, not only her two wrists but something similar was also tightly wrapped around her ankles.

Chu Jung didn't know why he couldn't control his emotions right now, but he knew that he was very, very, super wrathful!

Without thinking, Chu Jung ejected fire from both hands towards Ashley, leaving Ashley at a loss for words.

This man not only dropped her down but also intended to burn her alive!?

Ashley closed her eyes because she was too scared to face the flames that shot towards her.

Surprisingly, she didn't feel burning or pain. Instead, Ashley felt something warm on her wrists and ankles. She ventured to open her eyes to see what had happened to her.

Her eyes were wide, and she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Chu Jung's flames did consume both her hands, but only around her wrists. The fire didn't spread to her arm but spread down??

Ashley followed the path of the spread of the fire and realized that the fire was spreading downwards like it was burning a lengthy rope. It was then that she saw that there was something like a root wrapped around her wrist.

Did she fall not because Chu Jung let go, but because this root pulled her??

"ASH!!"

Her heart skipped a beat when Chu Jung called her name for the first time. Reflexively, she raised her hand again to reach the young man's hand that was stretching out towards her.

This time Chu Jung caught her hand, and in an instant, Chu Jung pulled Ashley's body towards him and instantly hugged her protectively.

The tight grip of Chu Jung's embrace made it difficult for Ashley to breathe, but at the same time, she felt very relieved and comfortable in the young man's embrace.

Her two hands gripped Chu Jung's shirt unconsciously, and her entire body shook violently. This was the first time she felt like jumping straight into the gates of death! Which girl is not afraid to experience something like her?

Vectis and Bai Yu arrived after Chu Jung just as the red king managed to reach Ashley. Carefully, Chu Jung sat Ashley on Bai Yu's back.

The fire that engulfed his body had long been extinguished as soon as his hand touched Ashley. He didn't want the girl to get hurt from the flames. That's why he refrained from throwing a tantrum right then and there.

His expression right now was gentle and didn't give the impression that he was angry.

"Take her back to where the yellow king is." For the first time since Bai Yu met this red king, Bai Yu heard a commanding tone and was full of an air of authority that was the hallmark of a red king.

Without needing to be prompted a second time, Bai Yu flew straight up. As soon as Ashley didn't see him, Chu Jung's facial expression blackened. His eyes were darker as if he was ready to destroy everything in his path.

Seeing the changing from Flame King's vibe, making Yuna's Vectis shudderred in horror.

Thank goodness he was not the red king's enemy.
