Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 246 - Ch. 246 Fusing The Other Half

After getting a firm decision from Max, Fye and Max approached Chleo and explained to the red soul that the Vectis had cruelly taken.

They also told Chleo that they plan to unite the red soul in the urn into the red soul currently residing in Chleo's body.

Chleo was shocked at first because she didn't know that the red half soul had possessed her. He hadn't even felt anything all this time and had absolutely no idea when the red soul had slipped into his body.

The half-red soul that managed to enter Chleo has fused with Chleo's current soul so that Chleo's mental state and red soul gradually recover and no longer feel traumatized. But it's different from the red soul that's half again.

This red soul lost half of its soul due to being slashed by Vectis, then locked and held in an urn created by Vectis to ensure this red soul would not be able to escape again.

Not only that, this red soul did not stop screaming for help and demanded to be released. All of those relentless screamings made Vectis, who was guarding her, feel exhausted hearing it, and they gave false promises. They kept saying that her suffering would end, but they still locked her up and had no intention of ending her suffering until Chu Jung and others found her.

Even now, the half-red soul in the urn was starting to die from not getting energy from its owner's source. If they didn't fuse with Chleo's body now, the red soul in the urn would evaporate into nothing.

On the contrary, if Chleo's red soul in the urn entered Chleo's body and fused with the other half, there might be a chance that Chleo's past-life memories would submerge sooner than they should.

Not to mention, there was highly a chance that the current Chleo would be affected by the distressing memories this red soul had.

Hearing this, Chleo looked at her lover while wondering if Maximillian truly wished to fuse her red soul into it?

"Do you really want this red soul of mine to fuse with me?"

"This soul is yours. It should return to its true owner."

That's true. The red soul in this vessel belongs to her. Chleo didn't mind getting any memories of what she had been through when she had red hair. But at the same time, she gave no care if the red soul in the urn disappeared without having to fuse to the other half within her.

This red soul experienced history that had happened but had never fallen to her. She desperately wished not to recall what had happened to her in her previous life.

She didn't remember it, even though she'd heard everything through Max's story to her. Chleo had come to terms with the fact that she had never been a good child to her parents nor a good wife to Max.

But that didn't mean she desired to get memories from her other life. She felt ashamed of her ungrounded behavior and deemed herself sure enough-unquestionably selfish for only thinking about her own feelings and disregarding others'.

If she were to meet her past self, Chleo would give her an earful scolding all day long.

"I believe in you this soul is indeed mine, but that doesn't mean I want it back."

"You don't want it? Why?"

"Why do you want me to have it back?" Chleo didn't understand why Max was torturing himself by reuniting the remaining red souls within the urn.

Even without the red soul, Max looked depressed as he waited for the moment where Chleo would recall her previous life as if he was waiting for the summon to be executed.

Chleo didn't want to see him depressed. Neither did she wish to see the face of the person she loved most unhappy.

"Max, I don't want to see you depressed or miserable. It hurts my heart to see you carry the torch." Chleo raised her hand only to caress her lover's cheek gently.

Hearing Chleo's confession warmed and touched the deepest of Max's heart. "It's because I love you. Just like you, I couldn't be happy when I knew you were suffering. And now I know the previous you were unhappy, and she might be suffering right now. I want to… atone for my mistakes and bring back your smile." Max grabbed the tiny hand touching his cheek and gave a light kiss on the girl's palm. "I love you both then and now."

The words that came from his mouth that said with all his heart moved Chleo's heart and craved to grant all the man's requests.

"Okay. Just do what you want. I will accept it."

Chleo wrapped her arms around Max's waist and buried her head in front of his widespread chest.

"Promise me. Never put a hopeless face in front of me. My feelings will not be easily shaken. Even if I were to be shaken once my memories returned, I'm sure it was only temporary. I'm sure I'll love you back." Chleo looked at Max with love and confidence.

Not only did she want to reassure him that her feelings wouldn't change, but she also wanted to reassure herself.

Behind her confident expression, she was actually scared. Chleo had heard of her previous life from Max, and she heard how she was kidnapped in Germany and nearly drowned in the river. She had developed a phobia of water and was afraid of many things.

Her relationship with her family changed drastically, and she grew up to become a rebellious child who likes to fight her parents every move.

To be honest, Chleo was afraid to face her past. What if what Max feared came true? What if her feelings toward Max wavering?

Chleo pushed away these negative thoughts and tightened her arms even more, enjoying his slender body and the delicious scent of her lover.

Max returned the hug and rested his chin on the top of Chleo's head while glancing at Fye.

Fye understood what Max wanted to say through the look in his eyes. Then she opened the cloth covering the jar and let a red orb the size of a marble float out of the urn.

Without prompting nor being led, the red soul flew towards Chleo and entered through the back of Chleo's neck.

Chleo felt nothing and didn't realize that just now, the other half of the red soul had entered her.

"How do you feel?" Max was curious about Chleo's current feelings once the red soul returned to its owner.

"I'm fine. Why?"

"The other half had already entered you."

"What? Since when?"

"You didn't feel anything?"

Chleo shook her head in confusion. She didn't even know that Fye opened the lid of the urn.

Max stroked Chleo's head gently with a faint smile. "I'm glad to hear that. At least there are no side effects when your soul fusion occurs."

Max's smile was contagious because Chleo smiled with him. Chleo chuckled as Max pressed their foreheads together while brushing her nose against his own.

The two decided to enjoy each other's company before Chleo's memory returned. No one would know what would happen in the future, and they would never know what kind of reaction Chleo would give once her memory returned.

Hence, they decided to savor this time together to close any possibility that Chleo's feelings would change.

If Chleo's memory returned and could make her feelings waver, Chleo would remember the good moments with Max.

Starting from the beginning of their meeting, which was not good but quite thrilling, or when the man always appeared and offered to pick her up to go to campus, and when the man was doing nothing but sweet to her.

Chleo would make sure she remembered all the good things she had with Max when her feelings began to waver due to unwanted memories.

After all, no matter what happened in the past, the current Chleo existed because of what happened now. She wasn't the red-haired Chleo who was traumatized and had an acute phobia. Neither was she a rebellious child who made her parents feel sad or hurt.

She is Chleora Regnz, who grew up in a loving and joyful family environment.

She was sure her feelings would not be easily shaken because she would only think of all those bad memories as just a dream. She was confident in her own feelings, yet she couldn't help but feel anxious about what would happen.

Not long after, there was a rumbling sound that made the ground of their feet tremble. Everyone there became alert and reflexively; Max tightened his embrace on Chleo while Chu Jung was getting ready to protect Ashley.

"What is this? What happened?"

"Looks like Aslan is here," replied Fye casually. "He said he would take care of the rebel Vectis himself, and he will also make sure this incident will not happen again. We have to go back now."

Max scoffed, hearing the Time Master's announcement, and clicked his tongue in annoyance.

Aslan only came here because he didn't want the blue king to destroy one of his creation's worlds.
