Alexis was felicitous when someone claiming Vasili's acquaintance reunited him with Chleo in Seattle. And that person is none other than Axel McKenzie aka, Vasili Peskhov, the blue king.

He didn't understand why his uncle was willing to meet him with Chleo, but he didn't mind and directly asked for the girl's hand in marriage that very same day.

He felt that he had given Chleo enough time to think, and he was sure that Chleo would choose him over her uncaring parents. He had planned to meet Chleo in an unexpected way so that the girl would not suspect that Alexis had been watching her movements all this time.

But who would have thought Axelard Cavendish intervened and made it easier for him to meet Chleo.

Only, he felt that something was off because things were going too smoothly. He was still too eager to destroy Vicent's life to have the slightest idea that his uncle would snatch Chleo away from him!

He didn't even know his uncle had feelings for the woman who was supposed to be his.

Alexis was about to take Chleo back when he found out that Axel would bring Chleo to England. If Chleo left this country, it would be harder to meet her. Vincent and Axel had blocked all ways for him to move in on Chleo.

Alexis never knew he had a brother. He didn't even know that his father had a mistress out there while he was still alive. His estranged brother hated him so much because he felt that Alexis was the one who snatched their father from him, which made Alexis feel furious. It should be the other way around!

If his brother hadn't attacked his company, Alexis would have kidnapped Chleo before she left with Axel. But his company was his top priority. He did not want to lose the inheritance of power from his father and uncle. If he were to lose his superiority, he wouldn't be able to take revenge on Vincent and Stanley.

His younger brother was Darwin, and he was the illegitimate son of his father's mistress. The woman was a dead-dealing hacker second to Hunter, and her whereabouts were unknown. People believed she was dead in Hunter's hand.

After further investigation, it was known the woman was called Dark Angel.

Darwin blames his father and Alexis for dumping Darcy after his mother was useless and would stop at nothing until he seized everything that Alexis had.

Alexis would never let that happen and tried hard to keep what was already his.

If possible, he would keep both his superiority and Chleo. But at that time, he had to choose one, and he decided to focus on defending his belonging while attacking the Flex group's shares relentlessly.

Darwin, who was very young, even younger than Chleo, could not win against Alexis, who was more experienced in handling the shares of his family business, so Darwin decided to step down.

During the two years since Chleo's departure to England, Alexis has not stopped attacking the Flex group, which was on the verge of a breakdown. Miraculously, Flex group's financial condition gradually recovered within a few weeks.

And it was all thanks to Axelard Cavendish, who has formed a partnership with the Flex group, and his uncle secretly helped Vincent. It made Alexis hate his uncle to the core.

Alexis still hadn't stopped his attack, but he wasn't stupid either. He raided small stocks and bought them cheaply to amass his power in the Flex group little by little.

His heart rejoiced, even more, when he heard that Chleo had returned to New York and that Axel had filed divorce papers with Chleo.

When Axel met him that day, Alexis pretended not to know anything about past events and pretended not to recognize his uncle. His inner mind laughed at how easily he trickled the most challenging person to be deceived. 

Alexis didn't expect his uncle to love Chleo and wished for nothing but her happiness. The man looked desperate and brokenhearted as he said he would let Chleo go and bless their relationship.

Alexis could hardly hide his joyous smile at that. If this man loved Chleo, it would be effortless to make him suffer as a payback.

He would invite the older man to his wedding day and show how felicitous Chleo was in his arms.

Alexis wanted to see the heartbroken and anguished expression on this man's face and was looking forward to his wedding day with Chleo.

Without wasting time, Alexis went out to meet Chleo. He got info from his spies that Chleo was currently in Axel's company.

He didn't understand why Chleo was looking for Axel when the two had already decided to divorce. Could it be that the girl is starting to have a change of heart?

Spending time together for two years would cause feelings of familiarity and love would arise between the two. Even though Axel had told him that his relationship with Chleo wasn't like any other married couple, it didn't mean that Chleo didn't love him, right?

No. Alexis couldn't let that happen.

Using his acting skills, Alexis confessed to Chleo that he did have a grudge against her family. But he lied when he said he would forget his resentment if Chleo returned to him.

He didn't know whether Chleo's feelings for him were still the same or not, but he knew that if he continued to impose his revenge on the woman he loved, Chleo would leave him.

Therefore, Alexis assured Chleo that he would not continue his revenge plan if Chleo accepted him and lived together in Russia.

Once Chleo settled in Russia, Alexis would not let Chleo contact her family because Alexis would destroy and make all the Regnz's life impoverished.

As expected, Chleo agreed, and he felt sure that Chleo's feelings for Axel were not as great as her feelings for him.

Of course, Chleo still loved him. They had known each other for almost ten years, and they had already decided to get married.. While Chleo only knew Axel for a few months before they finally got married.
