Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 289 - Ch. 289 The News

He took Chleo's right hand and brushed his thumb on Chleo's ring finger, which was currently wearing his proposal ring.

It wasn't long before the same blue light came into view, and Chleo looked at her ring finger this time. She stared at it as if she was observing something important.

At first, her skin was clean, and nothing had changed, but when the blue light reappeared, she saw a white dot come into sight on her skin. This dot was elongated and curved to form a motif that encircles her finger.

Chleo felt seeing someone was painting on her fingers when she saw the line starting to look solid, showing the sapphire on it.

Chleo was too amazed that her current feelings were hard to describe in words. She could only listen to Max's explanation of her ring finger.

"When you first accepted my feelings, I planted my energy into your finger. This energy would continue to grow as our feelings for each other grew. When its growth reaches its peak, a ring symbol of our love will appear. And this…" once again Max raised Chleo's hand to kiss her on the ring finger. "is proof of our love."

Chleo wrapped her arms around Max's neck, then tiptoed to kiss him to express how much bliss she felt right now.

At first, she had doubts and felt unworthy of living with that man. She was sure that Max wouldn't think about marriage until she was twenty-four or twenty-five. Perhaps this was why she had doubts because she feared that Max would change his mind over the next three years.

But when the man proposed to her and said that their feelings for each other had become strong, Chleo felt that the doubts she had previously felt were meaningless.

She didn't care whether or not she deserved to be with Max. Chleo would neither leave nor let him go as long as he wanted her.

The two of them tasted, sucked, and explored each other's mouths while the sun was starting to set in their background.

Both were like beautiful paintings made by a professional painter, and no words could describe the beauty of the figure of a pair of lovers who love each other.

Chleo pulled her head back to end their kissing, but Max could see a big smile and a happy hue on her face.

"Then we can get married tomorrow!" she declared like a child excited to go to an amusement park.

"Tomorrow?" Max blinked a few times, completely not expecting this sudden attack.

"If not tomorrow, when will we do it? I want us to get married as soon as possible!"

Max laughed, delighted to see his lover was as impatient as him. "Well, I guess I'm fine with that."

Chleo shrieked with joy and wanted to tell the whole family about this good news immediately.

Unfortunately, she had no idea this exciting news would give the elders a heart attack.

The first person she told of this good news was Evie. Because the girl who was closest to her since they were a child.

'Are you serious?? Wow, I didn't expect him to advance so fast. Congratulations, Chleo.' it was Evie's reply to Chleo's announcement via text.

Then Chleo gave the news to Ashley which a reply arrived soon after.

'That's great news! You are the luckiest girl in the world, Chleo. I am jealous of you. I wish you good luck.'

Chleo giggled while reading the reply from her best friend, and she was tempted to joke by mentioning the young Flame King. But she decided not to do it, considering the Flame King lived on another side of this continent.

Then the third person was her cousin, who lived in Canada. Maggie hadn't contacted her much since the incident on the Honolulu island at Christmas two years ago, but for Chleo, Maggie was still her dearest cousin.

'Congratulations, Chleo. I didn't think you would get married first. I'm happy for you.'

After telling the three people, it was time for her to make known her parents.

But, how did she reveal it to them? Especially her father?

Max promised that he would take her home and meet her father in person after this. So she decided not to tell her father first, but she did tell her Uncle Kinsey and Uncle Stanley.

But the one who replied to her announcement first was Stanley, and the text made Chleo take a deep breath.

'Chleo, have you thought carefully? You are still young, and you have a long life. You don't have to waste your youth by getting married too soon.'

Chleo began to feel doubt by telling the news to her other family members via texts. It would be better if she told them directly and en masse.

But what if her father conspired with her uncles, who didn't want her to marry young? It was her life, but still... she couldn't have a happy married life if her family were unhappy with this arrangement.

On the other hand, Stanley, who was having dinner with his family at his home in New York, reread a message from his niece.

He wondered if he had crossed the line? After all, Chleo was no longer a child and had the right to choose her life path. Besides, he was not the girl's father, so he gave the ball to the girl's birth father.

'Chleo, forget about my text earlier. I'm always at your back as long as you can be happy and live in peace.'

Stanley placed his phone to the side and revealed the news to his family.

"The boy had made up his mind. He asked her hand in marriage, and they will probably tie the knot this year."

"Who?"

"Chleo and Max."

Richard and Raymond, who were chewing their food, stopped chewing while Harmonie and Meisya smiled brightly and sincerely happy for Chleo.

"Wow, how romantic. Of course, they will get married soon, considering the blue king has been waiting for Chleo for a long time."

"Should we talk about marriage now?"

"I can't wait to see Diego's reaction when he hears that his beloved sister is getting married."

"I agree with you," said Richard agreeing with his twin brother's comment.

Richard and Raymond obviously were displeased with the news of Chleo's marriage, making Harmonie roll her eyes lazily.

"What's wrong with marriage? You guys will get married when it's time."

"Ew!"

"Stop!"

Richard and Raymond frankly reject the thought of them getting married when they grow up. The flirtatious ladies who surround them to make them the family's son-in-law at Chleo's first-acquaintance party have brought trauma to make them feel anti-marriage.

"I've decided I'm not getting married."

"That makes two of us. Those ladies are terrible. I can't imagine living with such a scary, aggressive, full of disgusting perfume woman." added Raymond, agreeing with his twin brother while shuddering in horror, remembering how the older woman's hands touched to feel his arm and shoulder muscles.

"Aiya, you guys. I can't believe you would say the same thing when you meet the woman you love. Isn't that so, daddy?"

Stanley cleared his throat without intending to confirm or deny his daughter's question. But Harmonie didn't care about her father's silence and continued her words.

"Dad also decided not to get married before meeting Momma. And yet, they got married too, in the end."

"Dad is dad, we are we." insisted Richard in denial.

"Ehem. Moving away from that. At least I won't let you boys settle down before you can create your own fortune with your hand."

Richard and Raymond smiled with satisfaction hearing this. At least, their father would not pair up his children carelessly in the name of a political marriage.

"Papa, if someone proposed to me when I'm Chleo's age, would you give me your blessing?"

Stanley choked on his food listening to this. He never expected his daughter to drop a bomb right in front of his nose.

"Moni, you're thinking too far ahead about this."

"But I…"

"You're still thirteen no matter you have the yellow king's memories for decades." cut Stanley firmly.

It didn't matter if it was his sons who would go and live in their own homes to live with their wives. But somehow, Stanley felt unwilling that he had to let his only daughter go to live with her husband.

"Let's just say that I'm twenty-two like sister Chleo."

"No. I won't allow it. Now, finish your meal, and let's stop talking about your marriage."

Harmonie pouted her lips in a pout, making Raymond and Richard laugh out loud.

"Moni, before you ask dad's approval, don't you have to ask our approval first?"

Harmonie looked at Raymond with a confused and wondering look.

"He's right. Do you think we'll let our little sister go just like that by an unknown dude?"

"I agree." continued Stanley with a proud tone to his twins, making Harmonie speechless.

Moni looked at her mother with a pitiful look, asking for help.

"You guys. Stop teasing her."

The three men who love to tease Moni, the youngest daughter in their family, laugh out loud while Moni frowned.
