Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star
Chapter 64 - Ch. 64 Chleo's Feelings
"HAHAHAHAHAHA... ouch, my tummy. HAHAHAHAHA... So funny! Diego is getting married! HAHAHAHAHA... my tummy hurts so bad. Hahahaha!" Evie couldn't stop laughing until she burst into laughter, making her facial muscles and stomach hurt.
It was the first time she laughed out loud like this, and that too because of her naughty cousin's story.
She didn't even feel empathy nor sympathy toward the young boy. On the other hand, she felt thrilled and glorious as if she won a lottery.
Seeing Evie, who couldn't stop laughing despite the time already went for ten minutes, Diego became even more sullen and thought that the woman was invisible to him. And yet, why was Chleo laughing at him with the crazy 'aunt'? It made Diego want to cry.
"Sister, whose side are you on? Why are you laughing too?"
"Hahaha. Sorry, but… I didn't expect there is someone like your new friend at all. She was... unique." added Chleo honestly while wiping the tears that came out of her eyes from laughing too much. "Even so, I can't believe papa would agree to it. He wouldn't, would he? You're only sixteen, and you still like playing around. What can a sixteen-year-old do once married?"
"That's what I meant. I don't understand her father's way of thinking. After all, it was an edited photo. In that photo, I look like I'm enjoying it, even though I'm not enjoying it at all!"
"Ah, really? I think you pretty much enjoyed it. It's all healthy boy's instinct, after all. Unless you're gay and only looked at other handsome men." teased Evie, who was still chuckling.
"Get out!" groaned Diego irritably. "How could I possibly enjoy it! I was too shocked at that time. I even thought it was all a bad dream. AHHH!! Whatever!" Diego grumbled as he grabbed his own hair in frustration making his hair messy cutely.
Chleo giggled at her brother's behavior. She patiently re-tidied her brother's hair while digging for more information.
"So, what did papa do? What did he answer?"
"What can he do? It turned out that Mr. Miyazaki was a significant weight on papa's new project. He also couldn't do much other than postponing our wedding. That's exactly what drives me crazy."
"So what?"
"Yuna spread rumors to everyone we were engaged. And I was terrorized at school by her presence the whole day. In the classroom, outside the classroom, in the library... she always appeared before me like a ghost. Sister Chleo. Am I no longer on earth? Maybe my spirit has left my body."
"Hush! Don't curse yourself. But… I have to admit. I kind of wanted to meet your fiancé."
"Sis!" sulked Diego protested because Chleo teased him.
Evie also laughed at the scene of the Regnz siblings.
"So you decided to hide here?" guessed Evie blatantly. "How about your exam?"
"Of course, I've finished it. The vacation will start next week. It doesn't matter if I play truant a few days before the winter break started." Diego answered weakly. He hoped that the little demoness would never appear here.
"What about mom and papa? Did they know you are here?" this time, it was Chleo who asked. She just didn't want her parents to worry even though she made them do as she loved to leave her bodyguard behind.
"It seems they already know. Besides, I asked Uncle Darrell for help to come here. I borrowed his helicopter. So... I won't be tracked by that two-faced demoness. I think by now Uncle Darrell has told papa."
Chleo rubbed her temple, hearing her brother's confession. Good grief! Doesn't Regnz have his own helicopter and private jet? Why did he have to borrow it from Uncle Darrell??
"Hey, why are you borrowing someone else's plane when you have your own?"
As if she could hear Chleo's thoughts, Evie expressed her curiosity straight away.
"This is why I don't talk to a stupid aunty."
"What!?"
"If I use my own family, won't the little devil know that I'm not in New York anymore?"
"I'm not stupid... and I'm not your aunty!!" refuted Evie in a thundering voice to the point Chleo had to close her ears. "Hm... Your fiancé is something if she could track you down."
"First," Diego pointed his index finger up before continuing, "She's not my fiancé. I will never want and accept that demoness in my life. Second, I don't know how great her family is. I just did it just in case."
"Have you never heard the saying? The more you hate someone, the more likely you'll love her for years to come." Evie teased with a chuckle making Diego snort in annoyance.
"Rather than that, I'm more curious when the sister of mine will notice it."
What?? Why did the topic of their conversation suddenly turn to her? Chleo thought in surprise.
"I'm curious too." for the first time, Evie agreed with Diego's statement-making Chleo even more confused.
"What are you talking about? What should I be aware of?"
Instead of answering, the two just looked at her with a mischievous smile. What are they thinking?
Before she could ask further, Chleo's smartphone rang, singing her favorite song. Reflexively, Chleo reached into her phone and picked up the incoming call.
"Hello?... Hi, Alexis." Surprisingly, Chleo saw the twinkle in his two siblings. What is this? "Me? I am with Diego and Evie at the ice cream shop... Hm. That one. Wait a minute. You're here? In Seattle?"
"Alexis is in Seattle?!" Diego exclaimed enthusiastically.
"Tralalala... someone can't bear to part with you."
Chleo ignored the two and still spoke a few more words before ending the call. Chleo was casual and relaxed, not showing any expression at all. Even Diego and Evie had no idea what Chleo was feeling right now.
Little did they know, Chleo was feeling extremely nervous right now. She was a fool if she was still clueless about Alexis's feelings toward her. The way he approached her was so classic that her father just so happened to like him.
Instead of winning her heart, the young man approached her family first. The way he talks, the way he acts... the young man always comes to his house with full arms. Even her brother, who used to hate seeing Chleo being approached by a male friend, now melted.
How could he not? Alexis gave him a gift that his father had forbidden him to do. For example, VIP tickets to watch motorcycle races, and so on that could please her brother.
In the end, her entire family, without exception... was on the young man's side and indirectly always praised Alexis in front of her.
It was obvious that they hoped Chleo would accept Alexis once the young man confessed his feelings.
Over time, Chleo felt that Alexis was the son of her parents, while she was the future daughter-in-law they wanted.
Otherwise, how could they always praise and speak well of Alexis every time Chleo came home?
If she did have feelings for Alexis, it was inevitable that Chleo wouldn't hesitate anymore. Alas, she couldn't imagine herself with Alexis for some reason. It wasn't just Alexis, but she felt nothing towards other men.
She couldn't imagine what her future would be like if she were with a man.
Chleo wanted to be like her parents. She wished to find a man she loves and loves her back.
Her father was her mother's first love, and her mother was her father's, likewise with Uncle Kinsey and Aunt Katie, who were also each other's first love.
Chleo wanted to be like them.
But… what does love feel like? Why didn't she feel something that would make her want to be with someone all the time?
Could her feeling be dull? Why couldn't she feel attracted to a man? Or could it be... she is a lesbian?
No. Impossible. She could not imagine herself living together with the same sex, let alone a special attachment.
Chleo sighed at the thought. She wished Alexis had never confessed his feelings. She did like Alexis, but only as a friend.
If Alexis confessed his feelings... what should she do?
She couldn't reciprocate the young man's feelings because she was sure Chleo wouldn't like Alexis more than a friend. However, she didn't want to hurt the young man's heart by rejecting him. Plus, would Alexis still want to be friends with her if she refused his feelings?
Chleo still wanted to be friends with Alexis, but at the same time, she couldn't make the man wish for it.
What should she do?
"Hey, speak of the devil. Here he comes." Evie's overly excited voice
awakened Chleo's reverie.
Instantly, Diego and Chleo turned their eyes towards the door where a young man they were talking about appeared there. The young man showed a happy smile on his face as he looked at Chleo and strolled towards them.
Well, at least Chleo was sure of one thing. In this world, the only male friend who can make her feel comfortable and happy was Alexis Peskhov.
It was the first time she laughed out loud like this, and that too because of her naughty cousin's story.
She didn't even feel empathy nor sympathy toward the young boy. On the other hand, she felt thrilled and glorious as if she won a lottery.
