In a simple house, a beautiful girl was struggling in front of her laptop. Let me rewrite it. The girl was staring blankly at her laptop monitor screen. She was supposed to be doing her final semester essay from her professor, but instead, she daydreamed the whole day.

As a result, the assignment was untouched even though she has been sitting in front of her laptop for hours.

That girl is none other than Chleora Regnz.

She couldn't concentrate on her essay because right now, her mind was focused on the events of the past few hours.

Alexis, who suddenly appeared at the ice cream shop, directly sat down next to her as Evie moved across to sit next to Diego. Their conversation was light and small, which made Chleo feel comfortable.

But when they got home... Alexis offered to take her home, which Diego automatically tagged along. Diego prefers to live with Chleo than to return to Washington and live with Uncle Darrell, his mother's cousin.

Diego particularly idolized his uncle, but he was too tired to travel to Washington, which only took an hour by car.

Alexis chuckled and then rubbed affectionately on the top of her head. This made Chleo high-strung for the first time. All this time, she could act as usual because she only considered Alexis like her brother. She didn't have an older brother like her mother. Even her eldest cousin was also a girl.

But... now that she had realized how Alexis felt for her, she didn't know if she was still allowed to enjoy this young man's outpouring of love... as her brother or not.

"Ehem… ahem…" Chleo cleared her throat a few times to ease the awkwardness. "What else can I do. My inspiration always appears in the days approaching the deadline. I can't do anything either." Chleo grumbled while pouting her lips as usual.

"Okay. I can't do anything if you are busy with your essay. But, I will leave for Russia this weekend. I don't know when I'll be back."

On the contrary, Diego looked sad as if he had been accused of nothing, making Chleo unable to continue her words. Diego knew very well that his sister doted on him so much, so there was no way his sister would blame him any further.

And Diego's guess was accurate. Chleo couldn't bear to see her brother's dramatic expression and stopped her attack. She instead bit her lip in frustration.

Right. It's all her family's fault! If they hadn't poisoned her mind to open her heart to Alexis, she wouldn't have let her guard down like this.

But this time, Diego could see the blank stares on his sister as if his sister's soul was in another world.

"What are you thinking? Why do you look like that?"

"I don't know." was her short reply with the same blank look.

"Don't know what? Don't know what to do or don't know the appropriate essay material, or don't know how you feel about Alexis?"

Chleo seemed surprised to hear the last words, and as if some kind of force brought her back, Chleo flickered a few times.

How did her brother find out?

As if he could hear her silent inquiry, Diego grinned shamelessly while continuing his words.

"I can read you. Your expression is the same as an open book." Diego teased as if he could hear Chleo's question making Chleo snorted in annoyance.

"So you think I like Alexis?" in the end, Chleo asked Diego to confirm her feelings.

"How could I know if you don't know yourself. But what I do know for sure is…." Diego deliberately held back his speech which made Chleo even more curious.

"What? What is certain?"

"Papa and mama like him pretty much."

"Tsk." Chleo clicked her tongue and changed her head to the right. It seemed that her brother was in the mood to taunt her, and she wasn't in the mood for joking.

Diego smiled, amused at his sister's behavior, and decided not to tease her any further.

"It doesn't matter whether you are with Alexis or not. As long as you are happy, I will support you." Diego said as he gently patted his sister's back, then got up and left his sister.

Chleo still didn't budge from her position as if she was daydreaming and entered her personal world. The phone next to her vibrated, indicating an incoming message. With a lazy motion, Chleo reached for her phone.

'I'll pick you up tomorrow afternoon. See you tomorrow.'

Without realizing it, Chleo smiled as she read the contents of the message that Alexis had sent.

Ah, why would she get a headache thinking about what she wanted? She just needs to live it and follow her heart.

That was her final decision.
