Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 70 - Ch. 70 Cathy's Call

The next day Chleo woke up and directly checked her phone. She had promised to accompany Evie to pick up Dietrich at the airport. Maybe she could see Alexis off one last time before parting ways over the next few months.

Therefore she immediately sent a message to Alexis to ask the young man's departure time.

The reply shortly came in, and Alexis's answer made Chleo disappointed. Right after dropping Chleo home last night, the young man had already headed straight back to New York by helicopter. Only then would he leave for Russia from New York.

Chleo took a deep breath and decided to get back to working on her essay. Dietrich's arrival time was around 4 pm, so she had time to work on her essay. She decided to focus on her final assignment and then think of other things.

Until the time passed for five hours, Chleo still hadn't finished working on her laptop. She didn't even realize her sister had woken up and prepared breakfast for the two of them. Diego may be a naughty boy, but he knew when to tease his sister and gave his sister private time.

Right now, his sister looked more focused than usual, so Diego didn't dare to interfere. He put the fruit salad and sandwiches and a glass of apple juice on the table next to her.

After that, Diego engrossed himself with his phone to play online games with his friends.

In the meantime, Chleo occasionally opened the website to look for her essay material. She also stretched her stiff body while waiting for the website browsing to finish loading. It was then that she noticed the bowl of fruit salad, two mini sandwiches on a plate, and a glass of juice.

Where did all this come from? Doesn't she live alone?

Chleo slapped her forehead, remembering something. Hadn't Diego been living with her these past few days? She forgot something important and instead let her brother prepare breakfast.

Chleo could only cry to herself. Not only careless, why does she often forget something important? Does she have a brain disorder?

"Diego, this..."

"Wait a minute, I'll be winning soon." cut Diego, who is still playing his online game.

Chleo no longer bothered him and just enjoyed her breakfast with a thank you smile. To rest the muscles due to being sitting in the same position for five hours, Chleo rose to her feet and walked behind Diego. She also saw what Diego was doing while eating her sandwich.

Chleo didn't understand what the boy was playing, and after a while, her head became dizzy at the image moving so fast. In the end, she gave up and finished her breakfast quickly.

After tidying up her cutlery, her mother called her phone. Chleo quickly picked it up and plugged the cable into Stanley's holographic visual sphere. Once connected, Chleo immediately saw her mother's full-body figure and smiled at her right in front of the sphere that emitted the various colored lasers.

"Hey honey, have you had lunch?"

"Hahaha… I just finished breakfast," replied Chleo nervously.

"Breakfast?! Just had breakfast at this hour?"

"Ah, we will go to lunch after this. No need to worry."

"Where's Diego?"

Chleo took the sphere where Diego was and put it on the table.

"Diego, are you playing online games again?"

Diego's fingers immediately stopped when he heard his beloved mother's voice. He quickly put his phone in his pocket and put on a happy smile.

"Uh, mama? I'm on break." Diego replied with an innocent expression that made Cathy unable to scold her youngest child.

"Okay. So when are you guys coming home?"

"Oh, about that. There's a final program that I have to do to graduate, mama. I need to join an internship program somewhere. I plan to do it on this winter break."

"Then you can work at your dad's place, right?"

"It doesn't have to be a company, ma. The major that I took was in the arts. I can choose a job that is in the service field. Maybe at a travel agent, property or museum. I'm more interested in working in the painting museum. I can learn a lot of all kinds of painting techniques."

Cathy sighed resignedly to hear that. "So, you won't be coming home during Christmas and New Year? Neither can we visit you even just once?"

"I'm going home to celebrate Diego's birthday."

"No, I don't want." Diego protested suddenly. "Mama, my birthday isn't important, so there's no need to celebrate it. If you don't come home, I won't go home either. I want to be here with my sister."

"Diego,"

"Besides, papa will feel calmer if I'm with my sister."

"Diego, are you afraid to meet Yuna again?" guessed the mother as she knew her youngest son tried to avoid the Asian girl.

"Hahahaha..." Diego only answered with an awkward laugh that made Cathy sigh in resignation.

"Listen, Uncle Stanley is going to America to celebrate the new year together. Aunt Anna and the twins will also be back. You also have to come back on December 30th. Otherwise, I will come to pick you up myself."

Chleo chuckled at her mother's threat. "Alright, we'll be home on December 30th."

"Aawww..." Diego moaned sadly. If his sister decided to go home, then he had no other choice but went home too.

"Okay. Enjoy your day and.. don't forget to have lunch!" the mother ordered before disconnecting the call.

"Sister, should we go home?" Diego's whining made Chleo giggle.

"What can we do about it? Instead of mama coming here, wouldn't it be better for us to go home?"

Diego made a sullen face and sat limply in the chair unenthusiastically.

"Let's go find something to eat outside. After that, I'm going to Evie's house. You want to come?"

"What for?" Diego didn't like seeing his tomboyish cousin.

"Today, Dietrich will come, and I promise to accompany her to pick him up."

"I don't want to come. I think I'm going to Washington to see Uncle Darrell. I will stay there for a week. Uncle Darrell will take me camping in the mountains."

"Okay. You have money?"

"Of course."

"Don't tell me it's not papa's money."

"Hahahaha. You know papa already froze my card the minute he knew I flew here."

"Yeah, I know that pretty well. It must be Uncle Darrel, right?"

Who else but Darrel Alvianc, who gave him the money? No one knows for sure the reason why Darrel pampered Diego so much like his own son. Secretly he taught Diego martial arts and introduced him to some of his most trusted men in the underworld.

This was what made Vincent worried. He did not want his two children to be involved in the world of violence in any form. That's why Vincent never taught his son martial arts because he didn't want his son to be in danger.

But Darrel, who has become a second father to Diego, still taught him, anyway. Nevertheless, Darrel respected Vincent and Cathy's decision, so he didn't involve Diego in his underworld.

The two of them ate lunch while chatting casually. After they finished their lunch, Diego accompanied Chleo to Evie's house before making his way to the train station for Washington.
