Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 99 - Ch. 99 Take You To My Place

Chleo was so focused on her work that she didn't notice that her favorite ice cream had arrived. She didn't even realize the pair of blue eyes staring at her with admiration. Neither did she know that Max had repeatedly picked up colored pencils that had fallen to the floor. She was also completely unaware that her ice cream had melted... No. To be precise, her ice cream didn't melt at all!

Even after being left untouched for nearly two hours, her ice cream was still beautifully shaped in the glass.

Max had used his powers to maintain the temperature of Chloe's ice cream glass. So that the ice cream would not melt even though it was outside the freezer.

When Chloe finished the fifth picture and moved on to the next one, Max directly stopped her.

"Chleo, get some rest first."

"But…"

Chleo couldn't continue because Max had subtly closed her sketchbook and started to tidy up the pencils that were scattered on their round table.

"Eat your ice cream first, and then we'll get lunch to fill your stomach. After that, I will take you to my place so you can continue your drawing more freely."

Chleo widened her eyes in disbelief at what she was hearing.

"Your place? Where?"

Max smiled meaningfully. "Why? Are you afraid I will kidnap you?"

"Ah… that… stop teasing me," Chleo pouted her lips as she took the ice cream glass she ordered.

Chleo didn't suspect that the ice cream she was about to eat didn't melt at all even though it had been untouched for more than an hour. On the contrary, she thought she had only completed five design drawings in less than an hour.

She felt proud of herself because she could complete five drawings in no more than an hour. Well, it doesn't make any sense. She usually took almost half an hour to perfect a simple design.

Could it be because she had already memorized the design model, so she didn't have to think about the sketch or imagine the color plot? Maybe that's why she was able to complete five design drawings at once in such a short time.

Strangely, she felt sore and stiff, as if she had been sitting in the same position for hours.

Growwwwwwl!

Chleo promptly held her stomach. She felt embarrassed that her tummy betrayed her and produced an embarrassing sound. Luckily this place was bustling, so she didn't have to be afraid that Max would hear her stomach growl. Otherwise, she would rather die than live in ashamed.

Chleo was curious about the current time, so she reached into her phone to check it. Chleo gasped in disbelieve when she saw the clock on her phone screen.

"What is it? What happened?" Max himself became worried when he saw Chleo surprised. Did the girl get some bad news or what?

"It's two o'clock now?!"

"Um, yes. Then?"

"We've been here for over three and a half hours?!"

"Yeah?" Max had no idea where this conversation was going.

"I thought we'd only been here an hour more or less. After all, how can my ice cream still be this solid?"

"This one just arrived. I have eaten yours earlier, and I ordered a new one." was his quick, reasonable answer.

"Oh, I see." Chleo believed it because she didn't pay any attention to her surroundings once her mind was focused on the design drawings of her co-workers.

Max took Chleo out for lunch as soon as Chleo finished her portion of ice cream. As usual, Max let Chleo choose what kind of food they would enjoy that day. Chleo no longer felt shy or reluctant toward Max anymore. They became like friends where they could talk and be themselves. However, the two of them didn't consider each other as friends, but more than that. But neither of them confirmed their status.

The two decided to keep quiet and enjoy each other's company. As long as one didn't evade or resist the other one's advances, the other wouldn't avoid either.

While enjoying their lunch, the two continued asking each other. This allowed the two to get to know each other more deeply and made them feel closer.

Now Max knew what the girl liked and didn't like. There were many things that the girl likes, especially playing in the water in the sea or enjoying the sight of flowers blooming in spring.

On the contrary, there was very little that the girl disliked. For example, she doesn't like being the center of attention, and she doesn't like strangers looking at her with probing eyes that make her feel nauseous. Chleo especially doesn't like it when someone insults his family or hurts his family in any way.

Aside from that, she liked to do almost everything. She had a great adventurous soul that she could climb the mountain or dive into the deep ocean.

Ah, how pure and innocent the heart of this girl in front of him is.  But that was her undeniable charm.

This was precisely what makes Max even more hesitant to accept this fact… the fact that he has fallen in love with Chleora Regnz.

Now he was sure that Chleo and the red-haired woman in his memory were different people. Although he didn't remember, he was vaguely sure that the woman in his memory had a phobia of water and a fear of heights. The woman who was said to be his true love was not a woman who likes to do exhausting things nor play in the water.

Now Max was worried. He was sure he had fallen in love with Chleo. He was sure his feelings would not change even if the world had changed from what he remembered.

But he was restless. What if the red-haired woman appeared out of nowhere? What if it turns out that his heart immediately turned and loved that woman instead?

No. No matter whether the red-haired woman in his memory appeared or not, the fact that his heart couldn't turn away from that pure and beautiful girl was irrefutable.

He was sure his feelings would not change even if the girl in his memory reappeared.

But... he needed to make sure before he advanced to the next level.
