I’m Drunk On You
Chapter 4.2
The storage room is hidden in the corner of the garden, and it is hard to find at first glance. It automatically closes as soon as you enter. The small warm yellow light bulb inside emits a dim light just to illuminate the outline of the goods.
Su Li watched with her hands behind her back as Chen Jiu bent over. He took out three blackboards from the back of two stacked boxes and took them apart in front of her.
“That’s a lot.”
“Can you finish painting tonight?”
“I don’t know.”
“Then why don’t you take one piece first and then take more after painting it.”
“Okay.”
Chen Jiu stuffed the other two pieces back and followed suit. He threw an ugly orange from the box beside him to Su Li.
Su Li stretched out her hand and caught it naturally. “For me?”
“Yeah.”
“Stealing it?”
“….. It’s not stealing. This batch of fruit has been stored for a long time.”
Su Li lowered her head and squeezed the ugly orange in her hand. “It looks fresh to me.”
“It’s okay to make a fruit plate, but it’s useless for bartending.” Seeing her hesitation, Chen Jiu said. “There are no customers ordering fruit plates now, so they will be thrown away.”
“Ohh.” Su Li withdrew her hand, peeled it off in two parts, and stuffed a piece into her mouth, “It’s quite sweet. You have a taste too.”
Chen Jiu was carrying four ugly oranges in his arms, looked at her hand next to his mouth, and pushed it away without hesitation, “I like sour ones.”
Su Li said, “Me too.”
Chen Jiu was about to pass by her with a blackboard in his hand, but Su Li blocked his way, holding a piece of orange and biting slowly. Her small lips were delicate and lustful, “I was wrong just now. It’s not sweet at all. It’s quite sour.”
“Let me go.”
Su Li didn’t let him and blocked him. The orange juice from her mouth stained her thin fingertips.
“What are you doing blocking the road? Let..” before he finished speaking, his lower lip felt cold.
Su Li’s fingers landed on his lips, and she stroked them lightly.
“Try it. Isn’t it sour?”
“Boring.”
Chen Jiu squeezed past her, holding the four ugly oranges in his arms as he walked out.
Su Li looked blankly at him, “???”
The evening breeze was cool, he sucked his lower lip, and his heart was pounding.
Where is it sour?
It is too sweet.
Although Su Li is a sculptor, she is also a long-time professional at painting. She has never published a blackboard newspaper before, but art is connected and easily grasped with another medium.
No one came to the store until eight o’clock, and the back kitchen staff were bored. The chef walked over slowly with a cup and stood next to Su Li to watch her draw on the blackboard.
The two were silent, the outside field was windy, and there was no shelter. Su Li’s hair was tied up behind her head was blown loose, and two loose strands drooped on her cheeks. She looked somewhat worn.
“Hi, artist.”
Su Li agreed without humility, “Hmm.”
“You can draw.”
“Of course, I’m from a professional art academy.”
Liu Che stood beside her and watched silently, “You just drew an abstract painting. A human face?”
“You can see?”
“Drinking tea? Or drinking coffee?”
“Is it different?” Su Li smiled. “Just now, when the boss and Li Guo came over, they couldn’t tell it was a human face.”
“They can’t?” Chef Liu lowered his voice, “They don’t have artistic talent.”
“You have, you have.” Su Li said deliberately.
Chef Liu laughed twice, turned the water glass in his hand, and walked towards the infield, “I’m going in.”
“Yes.”
Su Li finished painting. The first thing she did when she threw down the chalk was not going to wash her hands, not for the boss, not for sitting down and resting, but for Chen Jiu to see.
She was separated from him by a glass wall. No matter what Su Li called, he refused to answer the people inside.
Su Li knocked on the glass vigorously, and Chen Jiu finally looked this way. She held the blackboard newspaper, shook it, and asked him exaggeratedly. “Does it look good?”
Chen Jiu raised his hand, gestured okay, then lowered his head and continued working on his wine.
She threw down the blackboard, gave him a blank look, and muttered, “Deadwood! Dogman! Living fossil!”
