Chapter 18 Tell me, does God bleed?
Rune was completely bewildered when he woke up in the DC universe that morning. In his mind, his brown sugar ginger tea was just a simple potion, at most a different system. Even if it could increase the probability of pregnancy, the improvement would probably be very small and not worth a Merlin Medal.
Yawning, Rune went downstairs and looked out the window. It was still four in the morning; he had gone to bed a little late last night. The little wizard, who had slept for four hours, cast a spell on the broom and mop. The wizards' powerful mental energy made them sleep even less but be even more awake. But while Rune spent those four hours in DC, he spent a full twenty hours on the other side.
Walking into the kitchen, Rune flicked his fingers, and the refrigerator opened automatically. The tomatoes inside came out, their skins cracking open like eggshells, and flew into the trash can. The peeled tomatoes then pattered onto the table and were cut into eight small pieces.
The egg rolled out with a gurgling sound, then grew wings, flew to the edge of the bowl, bumped its head, and the "brain" inside flowed out, stirring itself in the process.
The bread, like a big fat man, would run two steps, pause, then run two more steps. When it arrived at the bread machine, it scratched its head in a troubled manner, then looked at Rune. Rune sighed, waved his hand, and they flew into the bread machine on their own.
Foreigners and Chinese people have different tastes. If you cook according to Chinese tastes, you can only make a quick profit. However, Rune has been in Gotham for more than two years and has a good understanding of foreigners' tastes, especially those from the Ugly country. So he chose the simplest tomato and egg stir-fry, fried bacon and toasted bread slices.
Half an hour later, Jonathan came downstairs, rubbed his eyes in disbelief, and exclaimed, "Wow!"
Soon, Martha also got up. This was probably one of the downsides of farm life; they always had to get up early. Jonathan had to do farm work, while she had to clean and prepare three breakfasts for the family... oh right, now it's four.
However, when she got downstairs, she smelled a sweet aroma. She looked in surprise at the clean and tidy house and the steaming food on the table, and couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
"Oh my god!" Martha went to Jonathan, who was eating, and gave him a big kiss. "Honey, I love you so much!"
"Uh..." Jonathan glanced at Rune awkwardly, then said, "This, this was actually made by Rune."
Rune glanced helplessly at the couple who were showing off their love, and silently dipped his bread in the tomato and scrambled eggs. The tomatoes were almost dissolved into the soup, and with the addition of tomato sauce and sugar, the soup base became even sweeter and richer. Paired with tender eggs, even the most discerning diner could not resist this dish.
The only downside is that this dish doesn't really go well with bread.
Hearing this, Martha glared at Jonathan: "I thought you were being considerate of my hard work and got up early on purpose!"
After saying that, the woman picked up Rune, kissed him, and then gave Jonathan a provocative look.
"Eat up..." Jonathan sighed. "This dish is actually quite delicious. I never thought tomatoes and eggs would go so well together."
Martha kissed the baby a few more times before putting down the soft baby beside her. After taking a bite, Martha's eyes lit up, and she began to wolf down the food.
Supermom is quite funny, Rune couldn't help but chuckle.
Clark was the last to get up. As he pulled up his pants and came downstairs, he kept yelling, "Runn, when did you get up? Why didn't you wake me up?"
"I got up at four o'clock," Rune said, looking at Clark. "Are you sure you want me to wake you?"
"Never mind," Clark muttered. He was about to zip up his jeans when he heard a tearing sound and his jeans were ripped.
"Ugh... damn it, Mom, I think something's wrong with me..." he yelled. "This is the fourth pair of jeans I've ripped!"
"Huh?" Jonathan quickly came over and tugged at the jeans himself, but they didn't budge. "These jeans are normal, it's not a quality issue."
"Has your strength increased again?" Martha was not surprised. During this period, Clark had shown many extraordinary qualities. Not long ago, he even pulled the school bus out of the river. It was not surprising that he tore a few pairs of jeans, but he could just sew them back up himself.
"No, Mom," Clark kept shouting, feeling that something was wrong with his body, his strength fluctuating wildly.
"Give me your jeans."
After taking the jeans, Rune said, "Restored to original condition!"
The jeans sewed themselves back together and returned to their original state in just a few seconds, as if Clark had never damaged them.
"You just need to rest and regain your strength." Jonathan stood up and put on his straw hat. "Just stay home and watch TV for a while today, don't go anywhere else."
"No, I want to help, to help you with the farm work!"
As he spoke, Clark vanished in a flash.
The three were left staring blankly at the door that was still rattling. Because it had been pushed so hard, the door was crooked and moved a couple of times before finally collapsing to the ground with a thud.
"Um..." Martha looked at Rune sheepishly, "Could you... fix this door again?"
"Restored to its original condition!"
The door returned to its original position, but suddenly Clark's screams came from below.
The three immediately followed the sound to the warehouse next door. Krak was gripping his arm tightly, but blood was still seeping from between his fingers, and he had a pained expression on his face. Rune immediately cast an Ironclad Charm on everyone present, and then looked around warily, but to his surprise, there seemed to be no one around.
Not claws? But at this point, who else besides them could hurt Superman?
Rune frowned, then cast the spell again: "Fly here, all of you!"
However, no strange stones flew over, which made Rune even more puzzled. It wasn't kryptonite... Could it really be as Clark said, that there was something wrong with his own body?
Rune looked up, squinted at the Kryptonian power source, the sun, and suddenly remembered yesterday's weather forecast.
"Oh, right!" Rune exclaimed with sudden realization, "Clark's power comes from the sun, but there's been intense sunspot activity today, and Clark has been affected as well!"
Jonathan looked at his adopted son with heartache, while Martha quickly went to find bandages.
"Clark, don't use any superpowers today," Rune said, glancing at the few drops of blood at his feet...
So, should I try fusion with magical beast bloodlines?
