American comics: From Hogwarts to God on Earth

Chapter 33 discusses how the Time Management Bureau can trigger the purge of corrupt officials.

"I should have thought of that..." Rune sighed. In the movie, the Deadpool army's appearance was just to give Deadpool and Wolverine some attention, and then they were forcibly "offline" by their friend Peter. But here, Cassandra knew that Wolverine, Rune, and Deadpool had escaped, so she simply left the Deadpool army at the base, preventing them from continuing to hunt down the armored Deadpool.

Although the Deadpool Legion couldn't kill Wolverine and Deadpool, taking Magneto's helmet from Wolverine's head was still quite easy.

Without a word, Rune instantly sliced almost all the Dead Servants in half with the red lines of magic.

"Help me kill the rest of the resistance fighters here," Rune said to Deadpool. Deadpool, relieved to no longer have to fight the bald woman, readily agreed. However, when he turned around, all that remained beside Bullseye were a few broken branches, and he himself was already dead at the hands of the alien golems. The other minions had also been wiped out by Gambit, Blade, X-23, and the others. Psylocke had surrendered, leaving only the stubborn Juggernaut, emanating a terrifying red glow; the regeneration rate of the Doomsday golems could no longer keep up with his destructive power.

"Neither side is easy to deal with, right?" Deadpool sighed, the painful experience of fighting the Juggernaut with Thanos... no, I mean with Cable was still fresh in his mind.

Rune then took out a silver lighter. He kissed the exquisite work of art and began to infuse it with his magic. The lighter seemed to be imbued with its magic, emitting a faint silver glow.

The remaining Deadpool variants that weren't affected dared not provoke such a ferocious god. They simply lay on the ground and pretended to be dead.

Let's just appease Cassandra. How much money can we possibly make working for that stingy bald woman?

Rune entered the hall and saw Cassandra's hand rummaging around inside Wolverine's head. Unable to bear it any longer, he immediately unleashed a magical shockwave, attacking Wolverine as well. However, given Wolverine's regenerative abilities, he wouldn't care about this minor collateral damage.

"Ah, a strange mage?" Cassandra sneered, instantly teleporting behind Rune and attempting to reach into his body. But she immediately discovered that her usually invincible mind-reading technique seemed to have hit a layer of fabric, feeling as if it could be torn apart with a little force, but Rune didn't give her the chance to tear it.

Rune flew away from its spot and unleashed a magical shockwave at Cassandra. But Cassandra remained unfazed; she vanished again, dodging the roaring Wolverine as he charged.

"The so-called Sorcerer Supreme you speak of all died at my hands. Do you think you can escape my grasp?" She reappeared behind Rune, attempting to reach into his head. However, she saw Rune quickly turn around, a smile on his face, a lighter emitting a silver glow in his hand.

"It's just a lighter..." Cassandra's words were cut short when a terrifying white light burst forth. The psionic shield Cassandra had erected vanished instantly before it, as if made of paper, along with her own consciousness, disappearing without a trace.

It seems the Ultimate Eraser is quite dissatisfied with her. Rune nodded, then smiled and said, "Doctor Strange and I aren't from the same system. He's a mage, I'd say I'm a... warlock."

Using his beast-like senses to detect Cassandra's teleportation ability beforehand, he then used the Ultimate Eraser to kill her, ensuring Cassandra's complete demise. To be dealt with by an item of this caliber—even if he had witnessed the death of the five primordial gods, he could boast about it for a long time. Well, if dying in the Void meant witnessing death itself.

"Wait, if she dies, how will we get back?" Wolverine asked anxiously.

Rune gestured for a pause, then walked to the seat in the center. After rummaging through the room for a bit, he found a strange gold ring. It was strange because it had two rings on it.

"It's all up to this." Rune looked at the blue and green gems on it and nodded in satisfaction. "Even if Cassandra wants to send someone away, she can only rely on its power. Give me some time. If that evil Professor X can use this ring, there's no reason why I can't."

Hearing Rune's words, Wolverine felt relieved and walked outside to join the fight against the Juggernaut. Soon after, everything quieted down.

It seems that simply receiving the blessing of an evil god is not enough to deal with a vicious wolf.

After further research, Rune also discovered the differences between magic in the Marvel and Harry Potter worlds.

Marvel's magic essentially originates from god-like figures like Agamotto and Eternity. These beings are generous with their resources, resulting in abundant magical power, and consequently, a greater demand for magical artifacts. If Rune hadn't inherited Superman's bloodline, he probably wouldn't be able to use the Sling Ring. But don't mistake this for kindness; Marvel's sorcerers pay a price for using magic, even in death, their souls being used to settle debts. And the sources of that magic are probably worried they haven't taken enough.

In the Harry Potter world, magic originates from within the body and is relatively less abundant. Therefore, wands are needed to assist in casting spells, and magical items require less magical power. For example, the famous Deathly Hallows do not require a great deal of magical power to use on their own.

Rune quickly became familiar with how to use the sling ring. All he had to do was increase his magic output, and the rest was left to the sling ring itself and the time and space gems embedded in it.

Deadpool and Wolverine were the first to be sent back, and Rune went along as well. If Deadpool hadn't stopped them, Paradox would have been killed by Rune. But Deadpool's decision to stop Rune wasn't out of some nonexistent kindness; it was simply because Deadpool wanted to test whether the slow slicing could really result in three thousand cuts.

During the third stab, Paradox tearfully chose to confess. However, it wasn't until the twenty-fifth stab that B15 appeared and arrested Paradox, also erasing the timeline destruction device in the process. Pyro, Deadpool, and Wolverine participated in the trial as witnesses.

Rune wasn't idle either. Over the next few days, he had the Human Torch and others notify everyone still in the Void to come here, where Rune would read their memories. Those inhuman individuals were used to deal with Elios, or executed outright; anti-heroes and heroes were sent straight home.

The Time Bureau was in turmoil. After Loki became the God of Stories, he demanded that the Time Bureau abandon its previous practice of drastically cutting timelines. If even a low-ranking official dared to disobey Loki's orders, what about the other officials? Thus, a massive purge began.

Perhaps because of this, even though Rune was breaking the rules and sending some time criminals back to their original dimensions, no one came to arrest him.

The last to leave was also a Deadpool, but he was handsome, dressed in sturdy red and black armor, and carrying a golden Desert Eagle. Moreover, during these days, he had volunteered to search for other rebels, working quite diligently. And when Rune examined his memories, he sensed a pure soul.
