Chapter 53 The Spear of Longinus always seems to poke something.
"Sometimes, fate just likes to play tricks on me." The Fallen One emerged from the smoke, his figure appearing and disappearing, carrying an air of mystery and eeriness. Under the wary gaze of the crowd, he continued, "The first person I saw at birth was my father, but later I discovered he was a madman. When I didn't want God to create humanity, he created humanity anyway."
"And when I wanted Zatanna, she was surrounded by so many strange people protecting her. Isn't that strange?" The Fallen One slowly pulled something from his robes, wrapped in a red cloth. He slowly unwrapped it, revealing a spearhead. The spearhead was long and slender, entirely crimson yet gleaming with a metallic sheen. The spearhead was sharp as a blade, and the handle was engraved with intricate patterns, giving it an ancient and mysterious appearance.
"Stop him!" Itrigan clearly recognized the item, and after saying this, he rushed forward to try and snatch the spearhead, but the Fallen One dodged it. Although Rune didn't know what the item was, he also aimed at the Fallen One's hand holding the spearhead and fired a magical shockwave. After hitting it, his clothes came off on their own and flew over to try to grab it, but the Fallen One slashed hard, almost tearing a hole in the levitation cloak.
Several pigeons, carrying rats, charged toward the Fallen One. Zatanna, having exhausted her magic, collapsed to the ground, watching as the Fallen One swung the spearhead, instantly turning the animals transformed by the shapeshifting spell back into their original forms, which then turned into holy water and fell to the ground.
Clark wanted to go and snatch it himself, but Rune stopped him. Rune's face was grave. To prevent the Fallen Ones from controlling these creatures, he had specifically used holy water as the material, and Zatanna had also specially inscribed some magic circles on each creature to defend against evil. To put it bluntly, in terms of magic resistance alone, these creatures were even stronger than Clark was now, and Rune dared not let Clark rush in.
"I'm furious." The Fallen One's eyes were bloodshot, burning with rage. He gritted his teeth, his aura surging as if he wanted to tear everything apart: "I could have used this sacred artifact for my next true form's descent to completely destroy all of humanity, but now I have to use it here, on a guy who's not even a fraction of my age."
With that, he plunged the spearhead directly into his own body. The next moment, the Fallen One seemed to stand in the center of the night, his body tightly enveloped by a layer of viscous black mist. This mist, as if alive, slowly writhed on his body, and black liquid oozed from his seven orifices. These liquids dripped onto the ground, making a hissing sound, while a nauseating stench assaulted the senses.
"What the hell is that thing?" Rune roared at Itrigan. Itrigan stared blankly at the First Fallen's next transformation, muttering the name of the spearhead: "It's the Spear of Longinus. It was the one that pierced the Son of God's side."
The Fallen One laughed and roared, his once deep eyes now devoid of white, becoming dark and empty. His fingernails sharpened and razor-sharp, his body arched slightly as if enduring immense pain, yet desperately absorbing this blasphemous power. Eerie runes shimmered and crawled upwards from his fingertips, distorting even the surrounding air under their influence.
As Rune unleashed a magical shockwave attack on the newly fallen, he yelled, "Aren't you guys keeping that thing safe? Are you just letting it come out and harm people?"
But Itrigan has lost his ability to speak. He is a demon from Hell, and he knows what will happen when the First Fallen obtain the Spear of Longinus. The First Fallen may have originally only wanted Zatanna, but now, he may destroy half the world.
Legend has it that when God and Satan drew a line between the angels and demons, they agreed that angels and demons must maintain a perfect balance, and neither should interfere in human affairs. However, according to the Dark Bible, to break this balance, both must intervene simultaneously. The Spear of Longinus killed the Son of God, and His power still lingers within it. As a demon, the First Fallen naturally gains access to both sides' interference when he wields the Spear of Longinus.
As the First Fallen One said, if he were fully prepared, he might truly be able to destroy all of humanity. However, at this moment, he is not in his true form, but merely possessing a human of unparalleled sin, therefore he cannot remain in his true form for long. And if the First Fallen One wanted to stay in the human world for an extended period…
Iteragan glanced at Zatanna. She came from a distinguished family, and her strength was among the best of her peers, perhaps even third best. Even the magic she learned was closest to the essence of the dark world's magic, truly possessing the ability to accommodate newly fallen individuals. But therein lay the problem: there were quite a few, even many, people capable of accommodating newly fallen individuals. However, if the goal was to destroy humanity, there were four or five in London alone who could meet the requirements, and one of them was a fool willing to sell everything for money…
Just as the fallen ones were absorbing power, a voice suddenly appeared, telling a lame joke: "Knock knock. Who's there? It's Satan. Who's Satan? The strongest angel who kicked the fallen ones' butts so hard, Lucifer..."
A handsome middle-aged man emerged from nowhere. He had dark brown hair and a neatly trimmed beard, maintained a charming and mysterious smile, and wore a pristine white suit, exuding an aura of danger.
"Lucifer, what are you doing here?" The Fallen One's tone was noticeably sharper, his voice betraying a lack of strength. "I clearly crushed the thing that was calling you..."
"Oh, you mean that horn?" Lucifer shrugged. "That thing's just a backup plan, isn't it? My other backup plan, Constantine?"
A cynical man stepped out from behind Lucifer, a displeased look on his face. He looked at the fallen one and gave him the middle finger: "You madman abandoned by God, you can't even tell your own brother apart, all I know is you're up to no good, wanting your grandfather Constantine's soul? Go play with your ***!"
Rune glanced at Zatanna's face and noticed that her previously cheerful expression vanished instantly. Well, what can I say? Constantine, you two are starting to have a rift. But this is actually a good thing for Zatanna; Constantine has quite a few friends in that regard, and Zatanna, being one of the more conservative types, definitely won't accept it.
The newly fallen one on the other side looked at the current Satan with a gloomy expression.
"Even so, you cannot stop me!" He chuckled deeply. "With the Spear of Longinus, I am invincible in this world!"
"Is that so?" Satan smiled slightly. "How come I didn't know?"
