Chapter 61 How to deal with this horde of insects and how to manage Slytherin?
Slytherin's discrimination against half-bloods and Muggle-born wizards has a long history, dating back even before the founding of Hogwarts. In the ignorant Middle Ages, when witch hunts were rampant, hatred of Muggles among wizarding communities was quite common and easily gained supporters.
Therefore, Salazar Slytherin, the founder of Slytherin, believed that only pure-blood wizards were worthy of learning magic, and that Muggle-born wizards were not trustworthy. This view persisted within Slytherin House, leading many Slytherin students to hold prejudices against Muggle-born wizards. Later, this belief seemed to escalate into the claim that Muggle-born wizards were less capable than pure-blood wizards, with some pure-bloods even suspecting that their magic was acquired through illegitimate means.
But Rune didn't care about any of that. Even if bad habits were passed down for a long time, they were still bad habits. He wasn't willing to indulge these young masters.
He walked to the door of the Slytherin common room, gave the password, and as he entered, the Slytherins, who had been whispering, fell silent instantly.
Rune glanced around, sneered, and asked, "What, you dare call others Mudblood, but not me?"
He didn't use a wand, but the magic to amplify his voice was still employed. Faced with Rune's ever-increasing magical power, the ordinary wand was practically useless.
Upon hearing the provocation, people kept coming out of the dormitory, some with puzzled expressions, while others were full of anger.
"Enough! For the sake of you being a Slytherin, don't make things worse!" a woman said. She looked older, probably a sixth or seventh grader. She was tall and thin, looking a bit like a long bamboo pole. She had a pointed face and small, always squinting eyes, which made her look mean.
A group of people echoed his sentiments, but fell silent again under Rune's sweeping gaze. No one wanted to provoke Rune. Besides the fact that he himself was capable of easily defeating the fifth-year prefect, the purebloods were also aware of Rune's reputation. The potion masters were very grateful for his publicizing of his new potion-making concepts. If Rune were to express his dislike for a particular pureblood family, these potion masters would reconsider whether cooperating with that family was reasonable. Compared to themselves, their families were clearly more important.
"Weren't you supposed to be incredibly powerful back then?" Rune's eyes were filled with rage, his teeth grinding together. "To actually manage to provoke three academies at the same time, you guys are really something! Huh?"
The woman who had spoken earlier responded loudly, but now, tinged with fear, her voice was so high-pitched it sounded like a scream: "Mind your place! You're a wizard, not some ill-mannered Muggle!"
However, the next moment, she flew out and smashed several tables and chairs.
"Muggle?" Rune's sinister gaze sent chills down the spines of everyone present. They had all clearly seen that this man hadn't chanted any spells or brandished a wand. "Muggles are now on the moon. Can you do that?"
"This is impossible..."
With a snap, another body was flung away. That person didn't even deserve a glance from Rune, but his fate made many people present wisely stop questioning this seemingly outrageous claim.
"That noseless Voldemort is a half-blood wizard too. Tell me, do you dare call him a Mudblood?"
Everyone present knew that Mudbloods were used to describe wizards whose parents were Muggles, but no one dared to say it out loud.
Just then, a man walked in. Rune glanced back and saw that he was one of the seventh-year prefects, an absolute pureblood.
"Is that enough?" His expression was very serious. "There are already a lot of people outside watching the spectacle. As a Slytherin, you shouldn't let the House..."
"Are you teaching me how to do things?" Rune sneered, but it seemed that the arrival of the seventh-grade leader gave the little snakes courage, and some of them began to denounce Rune.
"Even if you've earned the Order of Merlin, you can't bring shame to Slytherin for no reason!"
"right!"
"Have you made enough of a scene?"
Some had already secretly escaped, probably intending to report them to Snape, but Rune knew that the guy would only end up getting himself into trouble. The Slytherins' beloved Headmaster hated the word "Mudblood" the most; it was because of this word that he first lost his beloved.
It's so noisy...
Looking at this rabble, Rune suddenly felt less angry. The villains and heroes he encountered in his other world generally had their own goals: the Court of Owls and Falcone maintained Gotham's stability, Bruce wanted to make Gotham safer, and Clark wanted to be a good person…
But look at these children. They seem to have no idea what they should do. In the face of a powerful force, they are subservient and silent. But when another powerful force arrives, they seem to have found a lifeline and begin to denounce themselves.
Spending time with people who have goals and aspirations makes you overlook the scoundrels. Getting angry at these kinds of people is an intolerable waste.
Rune's silence seemed to embolden the students, who became increasingly arrogant and began to discuss how to punish Rune. They ran to the prefect and started talking at once, accusing Rune of all sorts of wrongdoing, and inevitably adding their own embellishments.
Edward managed to restrain a few people he was on good terms with. He looked at Rune, his face pale. As Rune's roommate, Edward had a rudimentary understanding of Rune's power, but even this was enough to change his mindset. In fact, Edward now greatly admired Rune, believing that Rune would eventually surpass the man whose name couldn't even be spoken. However, due to his past betrayal, Edward was hesitant to communicate with him—even though Rune didn't actually care about his betrayal.
Sure enough, the next moment, those guys next to the prefect were blown away. The prefect was quite capable; he subconsciously cast an Ironclad Charm on himself, so he wasn't thrown too hard.
"Can I take this as a duel?" the prefect asked, waving his wand and unleashing several dark spells. As expected of a pure-blooded Slytherin, he was well-educated and ruthless.
Many people around felt sorry for Rune as they watched the dark green spell strike him, who was completely unprepared. Some covered their faces, while others tried to defend Rune, but the spell still hit him squarely.
But after the light flashed, Rune appeared before them unharmed. Rune remembered those who had tried to help him, and then turned to look at the prefect.
"This is obviously a duel, Prefect," Rune sneered.
