Chapter 96 The Wizards' Messiah

Chapter 97 The Wizards' Messiah

During this year, Rune led a very divided life. In the world of Harry Potter, he expanded his killing spree to the entire world, and Rune's title of "White Lord" became increasingly solidified. In the DC Universe, however, he was studying hard and making progress every day, living a fairly peaceful life except for occasionally teaching a lesson to a bad school bully.

Ironically, some wizards involved in human trafficking banded together, attempting to use their numerical advantage to completely eliminate Rune.

But he ended up killing them all.

Since personally leading an organization, Rune discovered that running it not only didn't require financial investment, but could actually generate revenue. The main reason was that many of the wizards he rescued were alchemists and potion masters. Out of gratitude towards Rune, they were not only willing to teach him but also share a portion of their profits with him.

But Rune didn't care about the Galleons at all, distributing them mostly to the other wizards who participated in the requiem. Thus, a simple sense of honor arose among all the wizards within the organization. Although they came from different countries, with different skin colors and languages, they were united under the same leader because of a higher ideal.

Some called Rune "Savior," others "Messiah of Wizards," and still others had his name engraved on their amulets, regarding him as a god among men. Judging from Rune's behavior these past few days, calling him a deity would not be an exaggeration.

Besides killing the scoundrels among the wizards, Rune also diligently studied the wizards' spells and spent a lot of money practicing alchemy, leading a very fulfilling life.

Just as Rune was practicing ancient magic as usual, Misha quietly walked up behind him.

Rune stood on the empty island, his hands raised high. With his movement, the surrounding air began to fluctuate violently, as if distorted by an invisible heatwave, and a powerful energy erupted from his palms. Instantly, the entire world seemed to be engulfed in flames. The flames tumbled and spread in the air, forming blazing fire dragons that covered the sky and earth, unstoppable.

The flames changed color from deep red to orange-yellow, then to incandescent white, constantly intertwining, and powerful heat waves spread in all directions, scorching the small island that had nothing but stone.

"What is it?" Rune's voice still came clearly through the crackling flames, though his pronunciation was a little strange.

Misha bowed and then said, "Just as you said, Voldemort has risen from the dead. However, as we anticipated, there were no casualties."

Rune slowly brought his hands together. His movements were unhurried, yet carried an undeniable sense of power. With his movements,

The flames seemed to sense some invisible pressure and began to tremble slightly. The color of the flames gradually darkened with his will, and when his hands fully clasped together, the once overwhelming flames were compressed to the size of a palm. Then, with a slight breath, Rune extinguished the flames instantly.

He nodded, but his mind was still pondering the mysteries of ancient magic.

Undoubtedly, the advent of wands and modern spells was a step forward. Ancient magic was extremely difficult to control, and each spellcasting was a gamble with the wizard's life. Therefore, wizards of that time were extremely strict with their apprentices. They knew they would die sooner or later, and to ensure the survival of their knowledge, they had to guarantee the survival rate of their apprentices.

The advent of wands and modern spells made magic more controllable. At this time, wizards could develop spells that required a high degree of precision, such as Transfiguration and Featherfall. However, they still maintained extremely strict traditions until the four great wizards founded Hogwarts and purged all those who had exploited their students.

Just as Rune is currently purging those involved in wizard human trafficking, he already has a way to balance the relationship between Muggles and wizards; he simply doesn't want certain scoundrels to board the ship of the new era. And among these scoundrels, of course, is the so-called Voldemort and the Death Eaters.

He led Misha back to the nearby outpost and took a sip of water. Immediately, a young wizard gathered around.

"What, is there something on my face?" Rune asked with a smile. To his further amusement, the little witch actually nodded.

"No!" the little girl said with a smile, "but you're prettier than a flower!"

Sometimes, he really didn't know how to respond to these quirky little guys.

Rune ruffled the little witch's hair, then left amidst the admiring gazes of the others. He needed to return to Hogwarts to discuss how to eliminate the noseless one.

In truth, with Rune's current power, killing Voldemort would be a piece of cake, but that would only kill one fragment of his soul. Harry is also one of his Horcruxes, so to truly kill Voldemort, either he would have to destroy all the other Horcruxes, as in the original stories, forcing Harry to confront Voldemort and have him kill a part of his own soul; or he would have to kill Harry directly.

Rune wasn't so cold-blooded as to want to kill Harry outright, so he chose to discuss a plan with Dumbledore to deal with the Noseless Ones.

Lately, he could clearly feel a sense of urgency, as if something was urging him to do something quickly. Every morning when he woke up, Rune would be plunged into a melancholy feeling as if he was about to lose something.

Teleporting Misha to Hogsmeade Village, the scene fell silent upon seeing Rune, then erupted into a thunderous cheer. Wizards surged forward, their faces beaming with joy and excitement. Though there appeared to be few people, the cheers surged like waves, one after another, seemingly without end.

The air around them seemed to heat up with the cheers, and the sunshine reflected on every wizard's face, just like their mood.

Misha tried to stop the wizards rushing towards Rune, but unfortunately, she failed. Although Misha was no longer the somewhat timid potion master she once was, but a master of dark magic who could calmly cast spells under the influence of the magnetic field generator, she couldn't very well cast the Cruciatus Curse on those enthusiastic wizards, could she?

Rune reluctantly accepted the crowd's support. He was tossed into the air and caught again by the wizards, a process repeated many times. He could have flown, but ultimately he accepted the wizards' kindness.

For those non-pure-blood wizards, runes are their saviors, their protectors, and perhaps even their benefactors.

Moreover, many of the wizards taught by Rune Zheng spontaneously spread his deeds. For example, he never had more than ten Galleons on him, and he gave most of it to the wizards who participated in the rescue. He was also diligent and eager to learn, and he would generously share the alchemical tools he made with wizards in other organizations.

However, Rune simply couldn't take the money and items with him, so he didn't mind giving them away.

It's really a bit unfair that this misunderstanding happened.
