Chapter 15 The Real System
"That's really something."
Standing on the chaotic training ground, the old butler couldn't help but sigh, "This has gone too far, young master."
Before him lay a deep ravine.
Starting from him, it stretched all the way outside the manor, tearing apart the walls as it went.
"How could someone do this to a girl?"
The manor's restaurant.
The servants are serving the food.
Damian casually folded his napkin. "How does it feel?"
Kuina sat opposite him, the young girl with a straight back, dignified posture, and serene expression, making it hard to associate her with the fiercely combative female swordswoman from just moments before.
"I thought you were going to kill me."
The girl said indifferently, glancing at Damian with a hint of resentment.
unfair!
This guy actually secretly became a power user!
"I just want you to know that this world is incredibly vast, and there are countless people stronger than me."
Damian said calmly, "Guina, you still have a long way to go."
"Damian..."
Guina paused for a moment.
The spirited young woman was a little embarrassed. "You guessed it all."
"How long do you think we've known each other?"
Damian shook his head. "I know where you're going just by moving your toes."
"That's a disgusting way to put it, but Damian, that's right."
Kuina said solemnly, "I'm preparing to head to the Grand Line. You were the one who told me that the strongest people in this world gather in that sea! All legends are born there!"
She said, "Everything I've been searching for is there."
Damian looked at the girl in front of him.
The image of her leaving Shimotsuki Village with me two years ago, excitedly talking about challenging swordsmen from all over the East Sea, is still vivid in my mind. Back then, the girl was still a bit naive.
But now, after two years of weathering the storms at sea, all Damian could see in her eyes was unwavering determination.
That was a rock-solid belief that would never change no matter how much one opposed it.
"You've really grown up."
Damian couldn't help but sigh.
"Don't say things that my father should say."
Guina gave Damian a slight glare. "You're only two years older than me."
"so what,"
Damian shrugged. "Did you go back and see the teacher? What did he say?"
"Go back for a visit."
Kuina said dismissively, "It's the same old story: I'm just a girl, the Grand Line is too dangerous. They tried their best to dissuade me."
"but,"
She paused, then smiled radiantly, as beautiful as a hundred flowers in full bloom. "You know, I never listen to him."
"Ha ha ha ha!"
Damian couldn't help but burst into laughter after hearing this. "It's because you're too rebellious that the teacher has always had a problem with me."
"Because you told me, Damian, that Father's theory only works on the weak."
Kuina's eyes softened. "You said that for a true strong person, physical defects are completely insignificant."
"Tell me that there is no perfect person in the world, and that a flaw in one area can be compensated for by a strength in another."
Damian just smiled.
The teacher's theory about the difference in physical strength between men and women makes some sense, but not much.
If whoever is stronger and has more endurance is more powerful, then what right does Shanks have to be one of the Four Emperors?
Compared to natural monsters like Kaido and Charlotte Linlin, his physique is nothing, not to mention he's missing an arm.
If physical strength is insufficient, one can compensate with Haki; if Haki is still not enough, there are also Devil Fruits.
When young Kuina became depressed because of his later success, Damian encouraged her with this theory, telling her that physical defects can be overcome, but if one hesitates in their heart, there will never be a day when they realize their dreams.
So, as Guina herself said, she would no longer hesitate.
"Therefore, I'm going to the Grand Line!"
Kuina said earnestly, "Only there can I become stronger! Until I snatch the title of strongest from that man's hands!"
The girl was radiant, steadfast in her will and willing to give everything for it.
But Damian was somewhat confused.
This was undoubtedly Kuina's ultimate dream, but why didn't the purple light above her head condense into a seed of her dream?
Does this mean that Kuina, at the purple level, is not worthy of having such a dream according to the system's judgment?
Is it because investing in Kuina to fulfill one's dreams would be counterproductive, therefore one should refrain from investing?
What a realistic system!
Damian also knew that it would be difficult for Kuina to defeat Hawkeye and take the title of the world's greatest swordsman.
She is indeed very talented in swordsmanship; otherwise, she could not have comprehended the breath of all things and become a sword master in such a short time. She has never slacked off in her training and is more desperate than anyone else in order to become stronger.
But that's not enough.
It's not as simple as just the physiological differences between men and women; Kuina's talent is far inferior to that of the real monsters.
Don't be fooled by the fact that Zoro has fallen far behind her now; it's just because he hasn't reached his full potential yet. The three giants of the Straw Hat Pirates are all monsters who can absorb energy through battle and become stronger with each victory over a powerful enemy.
But then Damian said, "Then go, Guina."
Whether she succeeds or fails, only Kuina herself can decide.
Kuina was not surprised by Damian's reaction, and simply gave a calm "hmm".
She knew that Damian would always support her.
"So, what are your plans after entering the Grand Line?"
Damian asked, "That area of the sea is not safe."
"I haven't decided yet."
Guina said nonchalantly, "There's always a way out. We'll see when the time comes."
This answer has the stubbornness of a local.
Damian's lips twitched slightly. "So, you're planning to venture into the Grand Line all by yourself?"
Luffy knows he needs to find some crewmates, does this girl think she's Hawkeye?
"All I need is the Wado Ichimonji!"
Kuina's cool response.
"Don't talk nonsense."
Damian shook his head helplessly. "To sail smoothly on the Grand Line, you will need at least a sturdy enough ship, enough supplies for a long voyage, a skilled doctor, the necessary medicines, and a competent navigator."
Guina was slightly taken aback by his words. She thought for a moment, then nodded. "That makes sense. Then I'll leave it to you, Damian."
"You're really not being polite..."
Damian's smile faltered slightly.
He saw that above Guina's head, purple light condensed into a seed.
Because her true dreams are not recognized, she simply makes her current most desired thing an investment target?
However, in that case—
"Ships, supplies, and doctors are minor issues; Loguetown can handle that. The only problem is the navigator; not just anyone can sail the Grand Line."
Damian smirked. "But coincidentally, I know a very good navigator."
