Pokémon: Just won the championship, the newbie growth system is here!

Chapter 94 Are these strawberry seeds made of gold?

Outside the geranium shop, Bai Qiu, who was tending to the flowers, was pruning the crooked branches with scissors.

A large geranium lying on the right side of the shop entrance is leisurely sunbathing, showing a contented expression.

Arcanine sat obediently on the left, puffing out its chest and closing its eyes to rest.

Although only Grass-type Pokémon can automatically generate nutrients using chlorophyll in their bodies by taking advantage of sunny days, it doesn't stop Arcanine from enjoying the sun.

Inside the store, Ye Luo was selecting items at the counter.

This shop not only sells finished flowers, but also various plant seeds.

He had both flower and fruit seeds, and he was hesitating about which ones to buy.

"Hmm... I'm planning to buy strawberry seeds, but what's the difference between these?"

Ye Luo looked at the fruit seed shelf, where strawberry seeds were labeled and displayed in more than five categories.

Strawberry seeds, fragrant strawberries, pineapple-scented strawberries, olive strawberries, bay strawberries, rose strawberries.

Except for the first type of strawberry seeds, which is priced at 10000 Alliance Coins, all other types of strawberry seeds are priced at 25000.

Alliance Coins and above.

Why are they so expensive? The seeds are much more expensive than the strawberries in the supermarket.

However, I heard that this shop cultivates its own strawberries, and the quality is very high, which is why I chose this shop.

Strawberries are also categorized into good, medium, and poor quality. The quality of the fruit can be improved by relying on the power of Grass-type Pokémon, which has led to the development of a related academic discipline.

High-quality strawberries not only have better taste and nutrition, but also have a different growth cycle and are more difficult to grow. The nutritional value of high-grade strawberries can even be comparable to that of premium tree fruits.

When Ye Luo was reviewing horticultural essays by relevant scholars, she felt that this cultivation method looked very familiar.

Just like Pokémon, plants also have a magical evolution system similar to Pokémon, and can become better through cultivation.

Gardeners are just as good as trainers.

Ye Luo held up three different strawberry seeds and compared them, talking to herself.

"I don't know which one is better. Is the more expensive the better?"

"Not necessarily."

While Ye Luo was selecting items, a black-haired woman in a kimono walked over from the side.

With almond-shaped eyes and black hair that reaches her shoulders, Bai Xia is the manager of this geranium shop, and also works as a shop assistant, answering customers' questions.

She works as a gardener, and she and her sister Bai Qiu run this small, not-so-famous shop together. The giant geranium outside the shop is her Pokémon.

Seeing a young man wearing a vest and glasses walk into the store and hesitate by the shelf for more than 10 minutes, I specially came over to ask him in a friendly manner.

"Are you planning to grow your own fruit at home, sir?"

Ye Luo nodded and confessed.

"I plan to grow some strawberries in the rooftop garden."

"Excuse me, is this your first time planting? Do you have any experience growing crops?"

"A little."

"I see."

Bai Xia asked very seriously, and based on the customer's answers, she was considering recommending which type of plant would be suitable for beginners.

"The five types of strawberries on the shelf are different varieties, and their cultivation difficulty and cycle are different," Bai Xia continued to ask.

"May I ask another question? Do you have any Grass-type Pokémon with a floral scent?"

Yes, it is.

The fruity and honey-like fragrance of the Honey Serpent should be considered a type of floral scent.

Bai Xia listened and said with a smile.

"If you have a Grass-type Pokémon at home, I recommend buying the regular Strawberry Pokémon for 10000 League Coins."

Why?

Bai Xia offered a reasonable suggestion, and seeing the customer's confused expression, she explained.

"When fruit is growing, Grass-type Pokémon can affect the growth of nearby plants. Fruit will also change due to the influence of different Pokémon during its growth, resulting in different flavors."

Bai Xia pointed to several varieties on the counter and continued.

"These are all the flavorful strawberry seeds I've cultivated, using pollen from geraniums and olive oil from Mini Fu."

They have cultivated varieties of laurel strawberries and olive strawberries, each with a flavor inspired by Pokémon.

Bai Xia continued to offer suggestions.

"If customers wish, we can cultivate our own unique fruits; regular strawberries have a simple flavor."

It's suitable for blending with Pokémon scents. Other types of strawberries already have different flavors, and while it's worth trying, combining two flavors might not be a good idea.

"The flavors will mix together, which may result in a good taste, but there is also a chance that the flavors will become too complicated and not as delicious as the original flavors."

Simultaneously, the high-quality flavor of the strawberries cultivated will also result in higher seed quality; high-quality seeds can only produce excellent flavor strawberries.

"It's like nurturing plants halfway through their growth, carefully cultivating them to make the plants in your home garden taste better and better, which is part of the fun."

Moreover, Bai Xia mentioned that flavored strawberries have many benefits.

"It tastes good, but it also has effects. For example, the laurel strawberry cultivated with the fragrance of geranium flowers has a light laurel fragrance and can also heal burns. The olive strawberry cultivated with mini-Fo olive oil is harvested 20 days earlier than other strawberries. Although it tastes sweet with a bit of bitterness, it can restore a little energy, which is comparable to the effect of oranges."

When it came to plant cultivation, Bai Xia launched into a long and detailed explanation, covering every aspect. Realizing she had talked too much, she coughed lightly and paused.

"In the world of Pokémon, cultivating strawberries is also a science. Please feel free to choose any you like."

After thinking for a while, Ye Luo finally decided to have both.

"I'll take one portion of regular strawberry seeds and one portion of olive strawberry seeds."

I also bought some shovels and tools for loosening the soil, and a watering can shaped like a whale.

The bill cost 4 Alliance Coins. Ye Luo took the items outside the door, and the Growlithe, which was resting in front of the door like a stone lion, twitched its ears, flicked its tail twice, and opened its eyes.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Arcanine."

"Chirp~".

The Growlithe nodded, and the geranium next to it, which had been sunbathing, also stood up and offered to let the guest pet its head.

Ye Luo patted the geranium's head and put the gardening tools he had bought into the bag that Arcanine was carrying. Although the trainer's bag could also hold them, since Arcanine was there, he let it help out. Arcanine felt a sense of accomplishment in helping the trainer carry things.

Ye Luo placed the box of the Shermi chocolate cake she bought from next door on the other side of her bag, and put the tools on the left.

He patted the Gyro Dog's neck, indicating that they were ready to set off.

"Alright, let's go home."

"Waaah~".

Turning back to say goodbye to the sisters at the geranium shop, Bai Qiu, wearing a dark green apron, waved to the customers—a gesture of good neighborliness.

Bai Xia also came out and patted the geranium's head.

The two look very alike, after all, they are twins. However, Bai Qiu is a little shorter and has short hair for the convenience of her work.

"At the same time, their personalities are very different," Bai Qiu said with a suspicious smile.

"I saw it all from outside. My sister was chatting with that handsome guy inside for so long, I was too embarrassed to go in."

"Bai Qiu~!"

Bai Xia's face suddenly turned red. She had just come out for some fresh air and was perfectly fine.

Bai Qiu chuckled. "My sister is good in every way. She's beautiful, dignified, and virtuous, but she blushes easily."

She blushes easily when talking to guests, but this time she chatted for more than 15 minutes without stuttering, which is quite rare. In fact, she talked more and more as the conversation went on.

"This is the first time I've seen my sister talk so much. What, is that handsome guy your type?"

It looks rather distant, giving people a rather mysterious feeling.

Unlike Bai Xia, Bai Qiu is lively and outgoing, so she usually tends to the flowerbeds outside the door.

When you encounter a customer, take the initiative to introduce and greet them.

"I didn't expect you to like that mysterious type. Do you want me to ask him about his profession? He's probably a trainer, since he has such a big dog."

Bai Qiu felt incredibly safe as the stable-natured Growlithe sat basking in the sun at the doorway.

Bai Xia wanted to retort, but her cheeks turned red and she didn't know what to say for a moment, mainly because she was led astray by her sister.

Bai Qiu's outgoing and eloquent personality is something that makes her somewhat dull older sister very proud. However, she has a flaw that causes Bai Xia a lot of trouble.

He always liked to make fun of his older sister.
