Chapter 33 Losing the Car and the Cat

Chapter 33 Losing the Car and the Cat

Spider-Sense is the ability that Connors uses most often.

It was the existence of his spider-sense that allowed him to discover the inexplicable hostility of Xuexi's manager towards him, and to sense the manager's murderous intent towards the Graysons.

Combining these two points with some speculation, Connors could easily conclude that this hook-nosed agent was the murderer who killed Dick Grayson's parents.

Although the agent was also in the same hotel as Xuexi, it was troublesome to either go to the front desk to retrieve the room information or knock on each door to look for her. So, after leaving Wayne Manor, the first person he contacted was Xuexi.

Given this hook-nosed agent's personality, he'll most likely do what he did last time on the hotel rooftop: spying, eavesdropping, and then secretly causing trouble.

It was only a matter of time before Dick Grayson discovered the killer's identity, and he might even have already found out and was just waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Therefore, in order to avoid any unforeseen complications, Connors simply intervened and accelerated the process.

So, with his head covered and his arm bones broken, the hook-nosed agent was thrown into the stadium by Connors.

A loud bang drew the attention of Dick Grayson, who was kneeling on the ground, lost in memories.

When he looked up, he saw the face of the murderer who had killed his parents, whom he had been investigating for the past few days.

Although his face was slightly distorted by pain, it didn't stop Dick Grayson from recognizing him.

So the eight-year-old pounced on him, hysterically punching and kicking, even biting with his teeth, as if he wanted to tear the hook-nosed manager to pieces.

But the agent was, after all, a young and strong adult, and even with a broken arm, he was still no match for eight-year-old Dick Grayson.

Even though Dick Grayson was consumed by hatred, he did not forget the skills he had learned from his parents.

And so, under the stadium's ever-burning lights, two people, one agile but weak, the other strong but with a broken arm and constant pain, put on a dramatic performance.

"You think this is funny? To have them like caged beasts for your amusement?" Batman's voice rang in Connors's ear.

"No, I just knew you would come, so I let them cause trouble. Now it's your turn to step in."

Connors looked at the old man, who was wearing a Batman suit that was a size too big for him.

The Spider-Sense detected Batman's presence as soon as Connors entered the stadium; otherwise, Little Dick wouldn't be facing Hooknose alone now.

"That would be best." After saying that, Batman leaped up from beside Connors, his long cape trailing behind him electrifying and becoming incredibly rigid, allowing his massive and heavy body to glide with difficulty.

At first glance, I thought the person inside the Batsuit was Bane Connors, and I chuckled to myself.

Bane hasn't shown up since he broke Batman's back in the early hours of the morning, and no one knows what he's plotting now.

Last time, Connors was no match for Bane and could only dodge passively. But now, his physical abilities are comparable to Batman's, and he also possesses a series of abilities such as the Master of Lockpicking, the Master of Tricks, and Spider-Sense.

If the two faced off one-on-one, Connors was very confident of defeating him, but he would inevitably get injured.

As for taking down Bane without taking any damage, that's currently almost impossible.

In the blink of an eye, Batman had arrived at Dick and his manager. Dick had the upper hand, using all the props left behind by the circus as weapons to attack them. He was now holding a broken rope, attempting to strangle his manager.

"Stop, Robin," Batman shouted to Dick Grayson from the shadows.

Dick instinctively let go, and his manager seized the opportunity to try to grab him, but Batman kicked him away.

"You can't kill him, that would be the end for you, Robin," Batman said to Dick. "I know your pain, because I've been through the same thing—"

"It only takes one bad day to drive a normal person insane; a normal person is only one step away from becoming a clown."

"After my parents were killed, not a day went by that I didn't want to kill the murderer. Every day I thought that if I really killed someone, there would be no turning back."

"Child, let's hand him over to the law."

"I will teach you to draw strength from hatred."

Dick stared at his hook-nosed manager, who had been kicked away by Batman and lay motionless for a long time, before finally asking:

"Who are you?"

"I am Batman."

With one hand holding Dick's hand and the other holding a grappling hook, Batman prepared to take Dick back to the Batcave.

Because of Connors's intervention, the timeline of Dick's encounter with his enemy was pushed forward, and the hook-nosed murderer is about to face legal punishment.

Dick had no reason to leave Wayne Manor, and Batman took this opportunity to plant a seed in Dick's heart to prevent him from going astray in the future.

However, just as Batman put Dick into the Batmobile and looked back at Connors, he discovered that Connors was snapping the hook-nosed man's neck with one hand.

The hook-nosed man, who had been kicking his legs wildly in pain, suddenly stood at attention in mid-air.

"Batman has a no-kill policy, but I don't," Connors said to the hook-nosed man whose neck had been snapped but who wasn't quite dead yet.

Connors, sensing Batman's gaze, turned around and smiled at the somewhat incredulous Batman, saying:

"Keep it a secret from Robin and cover it up for me. Also, help me overwrite the CCTV footage here."

He didn't explain why he killed Hooknose, but instead reminded everyone about the surveillance footage before preparing to dispose of the body.

Anyone who has committed murder knows that killing is easy, but disposing of the body is difficult. In order to avoid being tracked down by the Gotham police and a series of other people, he had to dump the body in a place where no one could find it.

The sewers were the first choice, but not a safe one. After much deliberation, Connors decided to throw it into the Gotham Forest.

No one dared to go there, so there was no risk of being discovered.

Using a little trick, Connors put his arm around the hook-nosed man's shoulder, and the man, who was clearly dead, seemed to be alive, swaying and walking around on the ground as Connors moved.

He looks like a drunk person.

He planned to drive the supercar that his wealthy father had given him to the dealership to dump the car, but a taxi parked on the side of the road caught his attention.

Strictly speaking, it was the driver above who caught his attention; he was the same guy who had threatened to buy him a gun before.

"Gotham Forest".

"I put the body in the car," Connors said, "using a master-level trick to create an illusion, so from the driver's perspective, only one person's figure can be seen."

Then came another escape, and Connors watched the driver drive the corpse into Gotham Forest, quite curious about what expression this guy would have when he sold weapons to Hu Tiqiang.

He didn't know what the taxi driver's expression was when he got back to the supercar, but his expression wasn't much better now.

The supercar that Mr. Wayne just gifted me has been stolen again!

Where the supercars were originally parked, only a very familiar motorcycle was parked there. Connors walked over.

A note was found on the motorcycle's dashboard.

The note contained a drawing of a lazy black cat and a line of neat handwriting:

"Did you leave behind a charming little wildcat when you left Wayne Manor?"
