Chapter 52 Reverse Healing
Chapter 52 Reverse Healing
"If you're here to save lives, why are you wearing this outfit?"
On the spaceship, Connors looked at Zatanna with some curiosity and asked.
Just like her outfit when she performed magic that day, Zatanna was still wearing a magician's hat, a swallowtail evening gown, and over-the-knee leather boots, with a white shirt underneath.
These things were alright, but the reason Connors asked the question was that he clearly saw that Zatanna's long, shapely legs were covered with fishnet stockings.
The design is beautiful, but the problem is that even when Zatanna arrives at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, no one is in the mood to appreciate her—except for Connors.
"I'm used to this outfit; it makes me feel more relaxed and allows me to perform at my best," Zatanna said softly.
"Then I'll leave you be." Connors turned his gaze to the ground, his keen insight from "Athena's Vision" allowing him to quickly locate "Superman" Clark.
Previously, mistakenly believing that Connors had been strangled to death by his lieutenant Fiora, "Superman" Clark almost punched General Zod with his fists swung around.
But now that he has learned that Connors is not dead, the kind-hearted "Superman" Clark instinctively begins to hold back, not wanting to kill the few remaining Kryptonian compatriots.
Therefore, in Connors' view, Fiora and Namek almost completely overwhelmed "Superman" Clark, while Clark only desperately blocked and did not fight back much.
"How foolish!"
The spaceship was running low on fuel, just enough to propel it to the top of Superman's head. Connors then had Kusama jump down first, followed by Catwoman Selena from another angle.
Connor deliberately parked the ship near a ruin, allowing Selena to land safely using the crumbling walls and her agility.
Zatanna, looking at the altitude of at least forty or fifty meters above the ground, looked pleadingly at Connors, "I can't fly—"
"It's okay, I'll be able to next time," Connors casually reassured him. "Then hold me tight."
Now was not the time to be coy, especially upon seeing the hovering spaceship open its hatch. Namek, the Kryptonian chieftain, immediately leaped high into the air, intending to rush in.
Zatanna quickly hugged Connors, wrapping her arms around his neck, her long legs, encased in fishnet stockings, wrapped around his waist.
"Hold on tight, it might be a bit bumpy."
After saying that, Connors jumped down, and while in the air, he used the "Kusama Man" Stand again to obstruct Namek's view.
At the same time, Connors used his four abilities—"Precision Control," "Tricks," "Spider-Sense," and "Athena's Vision"—to float in the air and avoid Namek's attack.
As he approached the ground, Connors used the "Kusama Man" Stand for the third time, but this time not to stop Namek, but to use him as a stepping stone.
By forcefully kicking off Kusama's Stand, Connors accelerated his descent and eventually landed safely.
Namek followed closely behind, but did not immediately rush towards Connors. A figure stood in front of him.
General Zod has arrived.
Fiona, the adjutant who was entangled with "Superman" Clark, also stopped in time and returned to General Zod's side, standing on either side of General Zod with Namek.
They stood still, this time not launching an attack easily.
The reason was simple: as Connors stood next to "Superman" Clark and put down Zatanna from his arms, a golden lightning bolt flashed by, and "The Flash" Barry, wearing a red and gold suit, also arrived.
That wasn't all. In the distance, a deafening roar echoed as the asphalt pavement of the street, unable to withstand the immense weight, began to collapse.
The rumbling sound drew closer, and a massive, castle-like Battank slowly approached. Batman, clad in his enormous Batsuit, stood atop the armor above the tracks, looking down at everything.
The area was in ruins due to the previous battle with "Superman" Clark, but the streets were somewhat cleaned up by the aftermath of the battle.
On one side are General Zod, his adjutant Fiona, and Sergeant Namek, three Kryptonians.
On one side are "Superman" Clark, "Batman" Bruce Wayne, "The Flash" Barry, Connors, and Zatanna.
The two sides were not evenly matched in numbers, but General Zod's side showed no sign of backing down. Both sides began to slowly move towards each other, and Batman also entered the tank and moved forward slowly.
As Connors's spaceship, which had been hovering in the air, finally ran out of fuel and crashed into the ruins, causing an explosion, the atmosphere between the two sides became tense, with the imminent threat of a fight.
"Wait, wait, this script is wrong." When the two sides were less than a hundred meters apart, Connors suddenly shouted to stop.
"Why did we stop? We outnumber them, we should have crushed them on the spot—" The Flash, Barry, was the first to stop and the first to pick up where Connors left off.
Then it dawned on him:
"Oh, I see. This is the city. You want to change the battlefield?"
"The matter of changing battlefields depends on whether Zod cooperates, but that's not why I called a halt," Connors said.
"Superman" Clark was now suspended in the air, looking down at Connors with a puzzled expression:
"Were they all companions you invited?"
Clark refers to Batman, The Flash, and Zatanna.
Connors: "It's possible."
What does "can be" mean?
Superman didn't understand, and General Zod, seeing that there seemed to be a disagreement on this side, also stopped.
Zatanna fell silent. Just now, seeing these people standing together and approaching each other made her think that Connors had organized it all. But now it seems that's not the case.
Thankfully, Connors called a halt. "I'm here to rescue people; I'm not very good at fighting," Zatanna thought with lingering fear.
Connors was also there not to fight, but to watch the drama unfold.
"Let's talk about something first. Could you guys please not stand too far apart when you're fighting? I can't fly—how about I draw three circles for you, and you fight inside those circles?"
As he spoke, Connors drew a palm-sized three-ring pattern on the ground with his toes.
Inside the Batmobile, Bruce Wayne suddenly felt a sense of powerlessness. He had rushed here from Arkham Asylum in the Batmobile, without even having time to install the weapons in the Batcave.
It was transported here by plane, piloted by the butler Alfred.
When they arrived, before the battle even began, Connors suddenly appeared.
"He's always there whenever something happens," Batman thought listlessly.
"Young Master Paterson really has a good sense of humor, but he's probably about to get a beating, isn't he?"
Through the intercom, the butler Alfred spoke with a smile, while his hands were constantly adjusting the weapon system that had just been installed on the Battank.
Alfred was right. Before he could even finish speaking, General Zod couldn't resist any longer and rushed over as he looked at the circle Connors had drawn with his toes.
One punch!
With just one punch, Connors' body was broken in two on the spot.
"Ouch—" Connors gasped.
General Zod's attack was swift and ruthless, so fast that even Superman couldn't stop him. Just as Superman was about to reveal the mask of pain on his face, a bizarre scene unfolded.
Although it was Connors who was injured, General Zod's body was also broken into two identical pieces, while Connors' body, which was almost folded in half, returned to normal.
That wasn't all. After Connors returned to normal, General Zod's broken body also quickly healed. Then the two men, who had just been broken, stood there staring at each other.
General Zod was bewildered by what had happened; how had he suddenly broken his back? Meanwhile, Connors couldn't help but marvel at how effective Zatanna's "reverse magic" combined with his own "healing magic" truly was.
"What did you do to me?!" General Zod wasn't afraid of death, but he'd never seen such bizarre methods before.
He immediately demanded an explanation in a stern voice.
"Don't rush, listen to my instructions." Connors ignored General Zod's question and began to give orders. "You fight Superman—that is, Kal-El. Flash, you deal with Fiona, that woman."
"Batman, Namek is yours. See that big oaf? Bomb him with the cannons."
As he spoke, General Zod once again pierced Connors' neck, but the same thing happened again: the two were injured almost simultaneously, and then recovered at the same time.
After twice ending his grief abruptly, "Superman" Clark simply lowered his hands, wondering what Connors was up to.
But by this time Connors had already made the arrangements, and he stepped back a few paces and waved to both sides:
"Alright, you can start fighting now. Also, Zod, don't strain yourself. Doesn't it hurt? It hurts, even if it doesn't hurt you."
He was indeed in pain. Although he used reverse healing magic on himself to transfer the damage he suffered to the other person, the pain was still very real.
Connors was in pain, and Zod wasn't much better off. He had never seen or even heard of such a bizarre method on Krypton, and after trying it a few times, he simply gave up.
But when his eyes fell on the circle on the ground, just big enough for him to dance ballet, his anger surged up again.
But Connors gave them no chance, slipping away and leaving the battlefield to the Kryptonians.
He casually pulled Zatanna back, who was foolishly rushing forward again:
"Selena is already searching for survivors in the rubble. Didn't you come here to rescue people? Go quickly."
Zatanna made a sound of surprise, then remembered why she had come, and quickly threw herself into the rescue work.
Superman vs. Zod, Batman vs. Namek, The Flash vs. Fiona.
The battle between the six people in three groups had already begun. With his spider-sense and Athena's vision, Connors could see all the details of the battle except for the Flash, Barry.
Eating melon seeds alone felt like something was missing, so he threw a handful of seeds on the ground, and Fangwuzhilu controlled the harvest of melon seeds.
It's a pity he can't control metal and fire, otherwise he could definitely make some spiced melon seeds. The original flavor isn't very tasty. Connors criticized the melon seeds in his hand.
