Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?
Chapter 459 Running Around
Chapter 459 Running Around
After handing Stodgi Podmor over to the guards, Belvina gave them a few more instructions before leaving the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
In the opulent main hall of the Ministry of Magic, Belvina Apparated to the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix—Number Twelve Grimmauld Place.
Belvina walked up the stone steps, took out her wand, and knocked on the door. The door creaked open.
Sirius Black, dressed in his morning robe, stood in the foyer and only put down his wand after recognizing the person who had entered.
"What happened?" Sirius asked anxiously. "Your Patronus disappeared without explaining itself."
As Sirius spoke, he led Belvina to the second-floor reception room, their footsteps sounding exceptionally clear in the mansion late at night.
Arthur Weasley, also wearing a dressing gown, poked his head out of the drawing room and asked anxiously, "Has something happened at the Ministry of Magic again? Or the Department of Mysteries?"
"Yes, it's the Department of Mysteries again. The Death Eaters have made their move on the Prophecy Orb once more," Belvina said as she walked into the reception room.
"Honey, are you alright?" Molly Weasley asked with concern. "You don't look too well." Molly noticed the weariness in Belvina's eyes.
Belvina waved her hand, plopped down on the sofa, and said, "Tonight, Stogwie Podmore illegally broke into the Ministry of Magic and was caught red-handed by the guards in front of the Department of Mysteries."
As soon as he finished speaking, Sirius Black and the Weasleys looked on in disbelief.
Sirius Black and Stoddill Podmore were both early members of the Order of the Phoenix. He considered himself to know Podmore fairly well, so how could such a thing happen to Podmore?
Although the Weasleys joined the Order of the Phoenix after its reorganization, they trusted Dumbledore's judgment and did not believe that Podmor would betray the Order of the Phoenix and join Voldemort.
"Fortunately, Thor and I get along well, and I told him a little about Podmor," Belvina continued. "After a brief interrogation of Podmor, Thor and I agreed that he was under the influence of the Imperius Curse."
"It's the Imperius Curse again!" Sirius slammed his fist on the sofa armrest in frustration. "The person who invented this curse deserves to die!"
"I remember you said that Munch was also under the Imperius Curse," Arthur said worriedly. "I'm afraid there will be more innocent people like Munch and Podmore in the future."
Suddenly, Molly remembered something and said nervously, "Do you remember?" She looked at her husband and Sirius respectively, "On the first day of school, Podmore was supposed to escort Harry to the station, but he didn't show up."
"That's right. Back then, Alastor complained that Podmore had become as unreliable as Fletcher," Arthur said, recalling the first day of school.
"Stoj also took Alastor's invisibility cloak," Sirius added. "That means he might have been under the Imperius Curse a long time ago."
"That's right," Belvina quickly said. "We must immediately inform everyone to be on guard and prevent any leaks from happening in Podmore."
Sirius Black jumped up from the sofa and said, "I'll go tell Alastor right now."
Arthur followed Sirius out of the drawing room, saying as he walked, "I've come to inform Kingsley and Tonks."
In an instant, only Belvina and Molly remained in the reception room.
"Would you like something to eat and rest, Belvina?" Mrs. Molly asked with concern, though she tried her best to hide it, the worry in her eyes was impossible to conceal.
"I'm fine. I need to get back to Hogwarts immediately to inform Professor Dumbledore," Belvina said. "Molly, but are you alright?"
"I'm fine, I'm really fine," Molly Weasley stubbornly insisted. Her whole family was part of the Order of the Phoenix; how could she possibly be fine?
The eldest son, Bill, deals with goblins in Gringotts, striving to bring them to a united front; the second son, Charlie, is in Romania, constantly trying to make more foreign friends; the third son, Percy, although not a member of the Order of the Phoenix, works at the Ministry of Magic.
The remaining three sons and one daughter all attend Hogwarts. The twins Fred and George have a close relationship with Harry, and the youngest son, Rowe...
Enn is Harry's best friend, and their youngest daughter, Ginny, is a huge fan of Harry. The Weasley family is deeply intertwined with the Order of the Phoenix and Harry.
As a mother, how could Molly not worry about her children's safety? As a wife, how could Molly not worry about her husband?
"Everything will be alright." Belvina's words of comfort were rather weak and unconvincing; she wasn't good at comforting others.
"I know, I know everything." Molly turned her back and secretly wiped away her tears with the back of her hand. "I'm just a little worried—"
I'm just worried—"
Molly's voice trembled slightly as she wiped her tears away with the back of her hand. She continued, "I'm okay, really okay, we'll all be okay."
Then, Molly Weasley remembered the weariness in Belvina's eyes, and she continued, "I'm sorry, darling, I've been so weak, I've been so foolish—"
Everyone was busy fighting Voldemort, but she was secretly wiping away tears here. Molly felt that she was really stupid and was only causing trouble for everyone.
“No, Molly, you’ve never been weak. You’re a strong and brave mother,” Belvina said. “If dear Mrs. Black were even half as strong as you, Sirius wouldn’t be in this mess.”
Molly burst into laughter after hearing Belvina complain about her mother and brother.
"Alright, alright, hurry back to school!" Molly said. "If you go back soon and inform Dumbledore, you'll be able to..."
Get some rest early.
With that, Molly pushed Belvina out of the drawing room, leading her downstairs to door number twelve, and then watched her disappear into the darkness of the night.
When she learned that the person who broke into the Department of Mysteries had been apprehended on the spot, Belvina thought she wouldn't have to stay up all night. However, she was wrong, and very wrong.
Tonight's intruder is Stodgi Podmore, a member of the Order of the Phoenix under the Imperius Curse. Belvina not only has to protect him, but also clean up his mess and prevent him from accidentally revealing secrets and endangering the other members.
Belvina first handed Podmor over to the batter for protection, then ran back to Grimmauld Place to report the news. When she returned to Hogwarts, the campus was already pitch black. Apart from Belvina, it was estimated that only Filch and Mrs. Lorris were still awake.
Exhausted, Belvina made her way to the headmaster's office. She deliberately made a lot of noise with each step she took up the spiral staircase, even though she didn't know if it would wake Dumbledore. It was childish, but satisfying.
Boom boom boom!
When she knocked on the office door, Belvina still knocked very hard, as if she were beating a drum.
A short while later, the gleaming wooden door creaked open, and Belvina stepped into the office, staring at Dumbledore with a predatory gaze.
"Stoj Podmor was under the influence of the Imperius Curse. He was caught red-handed by the guards while infiltrating the Department of Mystic Affairs," Belvina said bluntly. "I've temporarily detained him in the Department of Law Enforcement, under the protection of the Strikers."
The centenarian, awakened at midnight, had a hint of weariness on his face, but his morning robe was a striking, elegant purple.
"I understand," Dumbledore said calmly. "This is the second time they have attempted to infiltrate the Department of Mysteries."
Dumbledore didn't ask Belvina how she handled the aftermath; he trusted her to manage everything properly.
Otherwise, Belvina wouldn't have deliberately made noise to wake a centenarian.
"Even if the Death Eaters used the Imperius Curse to control a hundred people, they couldn't possibly take the Prophecy Orb from the Department of Mysteries," Belvina said. "I'm worried they'll use Harry against us."
Only two people are allowed to safely access the Prophecy Orb: Harry and Voldemort. Only they can take the Orb down from the shelf.
Voldemort wanted to know the full contents of the prophecy, so he either had to do it himself, pry open Dumbledore's mouth, or find a way to exploit the naive Harry.
Belvina had little confidence in Harry, the infamous scarred brute of Gryffindor.
"Do you remember how we found Barty Crouch Jr.?" Dumbledore said calmly.
“Of course I remember. Harry had a dream about Voldemort and Crouch,” Belvina said. “Then we used the Pensieve.” Belvina suddenly stopped, thought for a moment, and then continued, “You mean, Harry can dream about Voldemort, and Voldemort can dream about him, right?”
"That's pretty much it." Dumbledore nodded. "That's why I've kept Harry at Privet Drive all summer. Voldemort hasn't realized his connection with Harry yet, but he will sooner or later."
"Obestomy," Belvina muttered under her breath.
To prevent Harry from being negatively influenced by Voldemort, he must master Occlumency.
Occlumency is a rather obscure magical technique, extremely difficult to learn and master, and very few people can be considered proficient in it.
As for Harry, Belvina didn't think he could learn and master Occlumency. Given Harry's restless nature, the difficulty of learning Occlumency would increase exponentially.
"I originally intended for you, or Severus, to teach Harry Occlumency," Dumbledore said.
"Spare me!" Belvina waved her hands repeatedly. "I'm already overwhelmed. Does the professor want to see me die young?"
Belvina thought for a moment, then said, "Severus definitely won't work. He and Harry don't get along, and forcing them together..."
They'll fall out sooner or later if they get together; absolutely not.
"You're right, Severus and Harry really aren't a good match." Dumbledore nodded.
"Professor, why don't you teach Harry yourself?" Belvina asked, her eyes fixed on Dumbledore. "No one is more suitable than you."
Belvina is too busy, Snape is not suitable, so that leaves Dumbledore.
As for the other professors at the school, Belvina didn't know much about their abilities; she wasn't a natural Legilimency user, and Legilimency wasn't one of her passive skills.
Moreover, it is extremely rude to use mind control to spy on other people's minds.
"It seems this is the only option," Dumbledore said, adding that he couldn't think of anyone more suitable.
After discussing Stoddill Bordmore and who would teach Harry Occlumency, Belvina was not in a hurry to leave.
"Aren't you going back to rest?" Dumbledore asked. "Even if you don't need to sleep, I do. I'm over a hundred years old."
Belvina grinned maliciously. If she was uncomfortable, Dumbledore wouldn't be any better off!
