Chapter 89 Giant Spider

Seeing the hundreds of giant spiders around him, Gandalf's expression changed, and he immediately drew his sword to meet the attack.

Duy waved his wand: "Tear it apart!"

To Dui's astonishment, the spider web actually neutralized some of the spell's power, only breaking a few strands of silk.

Seeing this, Dui stopped rushing to break the spider silk; he wanted to see where the silk's limits were.

Choose the more powerful spell.

"Crushed to pieces!"

A hole was successfully torn in the spider web.

Upon seeing this result, Dui's eyes lit up.

This spider silk is truly a wonderful thing. If it could be used to weave protective clothing, it would be truly impervious to blades and bullets, and would also have a certain degree of magic resistance.

If you have the chance, you could catch a few giant spiders and keep them as pets, specifically for them to spin silk.

Therefore, to prevent the land from being destroyed again, the Valar established rules that restricted the powers of all Maiar who entered Middle-earth.

This included not only wizards like Gandalf, but even Sauron's power was somewhat limited, preventing him from exerting his full strength on Middle-earth and forcing him to rely more on violence and armies to conquer the world.

Duy even suspected that Sauron's reason for creating the One Ring was not only to control the owners of the other rings, but also to break through the restrictions set by the Valar and gain greater power.

That said, after blasting the giant spider away with the Thunderclap Explosion Charm, Duy and Gandalf didn't linger; they continued to use the Guiding Charm to direct Bilbo and the others.

To Gandalf's relief, Bilbo and his companions were not captured by the giant spider, or rather, they escaped successfully.

The two encountered some giant spider bodies ahead.

Gandalf pulled an arrow from the corpse of a giant spider and examined it.

"These are elven arrows. Bilbo and his companions must have encountered elves from the nearby Woodland Kingdom."

Gandalf's expression was far from relaxed.

The elves of the Woodland Kingdom are different from elves in other places; they are wary, xenophobic, and not very good-tempered.

More importantly, they have deep conflicts with the dwarves.
