Chapter 211 Using Illumination on the Old Magneto
Chapter 211 Using Illumination on the Old Magneto
The Sisterhood is amazing!
Magneto's expression turned cold: "Are you humiliating me?"
"What's wrong? Did the sorority humiliate you? Are you sexist and look down on women?"
Magneto:
'
""
That punch is the result of at least twenty years of training; who can withstand it?
Magneto didn't know how to answer the question, so he simply chose not to answer and gave a cold snort.
"Utter nonsense!"
As soon as he finished speaking, several metal fragments tore through the air and shot toward Du Mu!
Du Mu reacted even faster, his magic sword drawing an arc of light in front of him, deflecting all the metal fragments and producing a series of crisp ringing sounds.
A hint of surprise flashed across Magneto's eyes, but his movements did not falter.
He slightly raised his five fingers, and a series of buzzing sounds immediately came from the surface of the Statue of Liberty below. Metal strips, steel bars, and metal plates of varying thicknesses were peeled away from the inside by an invisible force, slowly rising and surrounding him.
It's important to know that the Statue of Liberty is a bronze statue, so people often see it being struck by lightning, leading to the misconception that the United States has done something so unethical that it deserves to be struck by lightning.
For Magneto, the Statue of Liberty was nothing short of a giant arsenal, with inexhaustible sources of materials.
"If you used that ability to sell scrap metal, you'd make a fortune."
Du Mu muttered something under his breath, his tone relaxed, showing no sign of tension.
Magneto waved his hand, and the metal strips floating around him suddenly accelerated, tearing through the air and emitting dense shrieks as they surrounded Du Mu from all directions.
Instead of retreating, Du Mu advanced, his magic sword spinning in an arc of light to deflect the metal bars coming from the front. At the same time, he maneuvered his flying broomstick forward, rapidly weaving through the gaps between the metal bars, closing in on Magneto at an extremely fast speed!
Just as the distance closed, he thrust out his magic sword!
Magneto's eyes narrowed slightly. He raised his hand and gestured forward, and several heavy metal plates flew rapidly from the side, clattering together in front of him to form a solid shield wall.
laugh--!
The magic sword pierced deep into the metal plate, with most of its blade submerged, leaving only a small tip protruding and stopping a meter in front of Magneto.
Magneto casually swung his arm, and the metal plate that was gripping the sword suddenly twisted and deformed. A tremendous force came through the magic sword, throwing Du Mu away along with it.
Du Mu immediately released his sword and used his flying broom to quickly stabilize himself in mid-air.
"You're pretty good, much better than Charles and his X-Men."
Magneto stood with his arms crossed, hovering in the center of a slowly rotating metal vortex, his voice tinged with admiration.
Du Mu conjured a magic sword in his hand again: "You're pretty good too, much better than the Eric I know. At least you don't engage in close combat with your opponents."
Magneto couldn't understand Du Mu's words, but he didn't delve into it further.
He said in a deep voice, "Since you have this power, why do you insist on helping those humans who harm our fellow human beings? They regard us as outsiders. Today you help them build high walls, tomorrow they will become prisons that imprison us."
"Once we lose the ability to resist, what awaits us will not be peaceful coexistence, but cleansing and enslavement. Can't you see this reality?"
To be fair, Magneto's words do make some sense.
The mutant apocalypse of the previous world is enough to prove that Magneto's words were not alarmist. With the advancement of human technology and harsh words, the Brotherhood of X-Men in that world had disappeared into history, and mutants were almost extinct.
But what does this have to do with Du Mu, who was a human?
Du Mu shook his head: "There's no particular reason, I just accepted the mission."
Magneto frowned: "Whose mission is this? How much is he paying you? If you help me complete the plan, I can pay you double."
Du Mu waited for a long time, but did not receive any notification from the game system.
This is normal. It is generally difficult to trigger two missions with completely opposite conditions at the same time. Usually, only missions from one side will be triggered, unless it is like S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra, where the two sides are inseparable, in which case it is possible to accept missions from both sides at the same time.
Du Mu cleared his throat and said righteously, "I, Du Mu, uphold honesty and integrity when I travel the world! How could I possibly change my mind for a little reward?"
"Since that's the case, then don't blame me."
A cold glint flashed in Magneto's eyes.
The UN summit on Ellis Island has begun, and he must hurry to get Little Rascal to absorb his power and activate the conversion device.
He would show no mercy to anyone who tried to obstruct the plan, even if they were his own countrymen.
Magneto said no more, and the surrounding suspended metal objects suddenly erupted, like a torrent of metal, surging towards Du Mu!
Instead of taking the hit head-on, Du Mu, empowered by his veteran driving skills, maneuvered his flying broom through the air, dodging the incoming metal objects while accelerating toward the torch held aloft by the Statue of Liberty!
Magneto's conversion device is right there; if it's destroyed, his plan will be ruined just the same.
"Don't even think about it!"
Magneto immediately saw through his intention and clenched his right hand in mid-air.
The copper plating on the Statue of Liberty peeled off layer by layer, and the internal steel frame was simultaneously removed, assembling in the air into countless sharp metal fragments.
In an instant, the sky filled with metal transformed into a dense, impenetrable downpour, completely blocking all of Du Mu's path forward!
"My goodness!"
Seeing this, Du Mu quickly retreated, maneuvering his broom in a sharp arc to narrowly avoid the overwhelming attack.
This is Magneto's absolute home turf; it's practically like he's using an unlimited power-up cheat.
"This is putting us in a passive position..."
1
Du Mu squinted, muttered something, took a black ball from his game inventory, and tossed it forward.
A flash of white light, and Max makes a dazzling entrance!
Magneto:
'
"He had seen all sorts of mutant abilities, but for a living person to pop out of a sphere was really beyond his comprehension."
Mutants' abilities can be obscure, but they can't be this sinister.
Max, still a little dazed after emerging from the pure iron Poké Ball, was already being shoved into the air by Du Mu, who pointed and shouted, "Max, use Charm on that old man!"
"Pikachu!"
Max: (≧≤)
Magneto: (Mid-10)
An indescribable surge of anger welled up inside me.
He's lived to be this old and has experienced all sorts of ups and downs, but this is the first time he's ever been treated so disgustingly!
Magneto's face darkened, and without saying a word, he reached out and grabbed at the surrounding metal fragments, which immediately hummed and surged, raining down on Max!
Max felt a chill run down his spine as he looked at the overwhelming torrent of metal.
Seeing that there was no way to avoid it, he could only push his arms forward suddenly, and thick, dazzling blue lightning bolts surged out and collided head-on with the front of the metal torrent!
For a moment, the thick bolts of lightning and the surging metal formed a brief stalemate in the air, neither giving way to the other, and the energy surged at the boundary, emitting a continuous roar.
"Another mutant with ability but no action."
Magneto snorted and floated directly in front of the Statue of Liberty, slowly spreading his arms.
The next moment, the Statue of Liberty behind him suddenly came to life, its right arm holding the torch and slamming it down heavily on Max below!
Max was fighting against the torrent of metal in front of him when he suddenly felt a darkness above him. He looked up and saw the giant hand of the goddess statue growing bigger and bigger in his field of vision!
Max: "???"
Wodefa!?
It turns out that the online claim that the Statue of Liberty is a movable robot wasn't a lie!
Max didn't have time to stop and dodge, and was directly hit by a torch from the Statue of Liberty. The terrifying force slammed him hard into the ground, creating a huge crater.
Magneto waved his hand, and the Statue of Liberty's arm obediently retracted, creating a truly spectacular scene.
He was looking down, trying to observe Max's condition, when he suddenly felt a strange pulling force coming from above his head.
"Um?
'
Magneto frowned. He could feel the force acting on his helmet, trying to pull it off his head. But he was a master of metalwork, and he reacted in less than half a second. With a quick thought, he activated his ability and immediately pressed the helmet, which was about to fall off, back onto his head.
Magneto followed the trail and saw Du Mu not far away, holding an ordinary-looking U-shaped magnet and pointing it at him.
Clearly, this was all Du Mu's doing.
Two invisible magnetic forces clashed instantly, vying for dominance over Magneto's helmet and producing a low, trembling sound.
Imagine what would happen if two magnets were brought close together?
They're attracted to each other, of course!
The standoff lasted less than a second before Du Mu and Magneto simultaneously felt a tremendous pulling force, causing their bodies to fly uncontrollably toward each other!
As Du Mu watched Magneto's old face rapidly enlarge in his field of vision, filled with astonishment, he immediately revealed a malicious smile.
Du Mu: Magneto the Second Asia:
Don't come any closer!
Magneto hurriedly raised his hands, and the scattered metal around him immediately hummed in response, attempting to urgently form a barrier between the two to stop Du Mu from flying in.
But Du Mu was half a step ahead of him!
The flying broom in Du Mu's hand suddenly disappeared, and his five fingers spread out, pointing directly at Magneto's face.
Illumination!
The next moment, a blazing white light, comparable to a mini sun, burst forth from Du Mu's palm, smearing Magneto's face!
"Ugh—!"
Magneto let out a short cry of pain, his eyes stinging intensely.
At this moment, all he could see was pure white, as if he were seeing the original... paradise!
But for some reason, he always felt a strange sense of familiarity with this ability.
Magneto reflexively closed his eyes, and tears welled up instantly. The metal he was manipulating went out of control, flying wildly in the air and making it difficult to find its target.
Using the magnetic pull, the pole successfully broke through the resistance of the scattered metal and pounced directly onto Magneto's back.
Magneto felt a sudden weight on his back, as if his old bones were about to be crushed.
Buhou!!
Magneto realized he was in trouble and was about to fight back when a magic sword was pressed against his neck.
Du Mu's voice came from beside my ear: "Don't move around. My hands aren't very steady, and it would be bad if they accidentally shook."
"6
""
Magneto's body stiffened, and he stopped moving.
He is a pure ranged attacker; his melee ability is not just average, but practically nonexistent, leaving him utterly defenseless.
After all, he couldn't just turn into an iron sword and then engage in a sword duel with Du Mu, could he?
"Who exactly are you?"
Magneto's tone was filled with resentment.
He had never heard of Du Mu before, and yet he was defeated by him.
"You'll see when you take off your helmet."
As Du Mu spoke, he reached out and touched the helmet on Magneto's head.
Magneto instinctively wanted to stop him, but due to the magic sword around his neck, he could only let Du Mu remove his helmet.
He reassured himself that Charles should still be unconscious and there was no need to worry for the time being.
"Eric, it's been a long time."
A familiar yet unfamiliar voice suddenly rang in Magneto's mind.
Magneto's pupils contracted sharply, his eyes almost overflowing with astonishment: "Charles? Weren't you still unconscious?"
"That's a long story, so I won't go into it."
Magneto:
'
""
No, who the hell are you? Give me back Charles!
And so, the two old friends from different worlds began to communicate on a spiritual level.
Their exchange was brief, partly because information traveled so quickly, and partly because Magneto couldn't hold on any longer, since Du Mu was still clinging to him.
What's even more absurd is that Magneto felt the thing on his back was adjusting its posture, trying to sit more comfortably.
His lips twitched slightly: "I lost. Now you can get off me, right?"
"No, I can't fly. Carry me down."
Magneto:
""
He took a deep breath and carried Du Mu to the top of the Statue of Liberty.
At this point, Magneto had given up resisting.
Now that he has lost the protection of the telepathic helmet, and with Charles still active, he has no chance of turning the tables.
Just as young Logan encountered Magneto, for Charles, Magneto without his helmet was equally a threat.
The "Unexpected Mission" has been completed.
[Rewards: Experience +2000, X-Men affinity +20, Magnetic Shield, Magical White Robe]
[Item: Magnetic Shield (One-time use item. When activated, it creates a directional magnetic barrier that lasts for 30 seconds. It provides excellent protection against most physical attacks and energy shocks, but its effectiveness is reduced against true Magnetic Masters, well, except for Metal Masters.)]
[Equipment: Magic White Robe (Originating from an unnamed Maiar, it significantly enhances the wearer's physical attributes, granting a certain level of physical and magical resistance. This equipment is deeply bound to the user's mental power and will never wear out unless the bound user dies)]
"A magical white robe... to enhance physical attributes?"
Du Mu nodded in satisfaction. This was the equipment a mage should have!
Without saying a word, he took out a magical white robe and put it on, along with the Pharaoh's scepter, looking every bit the classic mage.
Magneto, standing beside him, was momentarily dazed.
This design looks more and more familiar...
