Chapter 621, page 619: The Shadow Appears
Wizards are known for their unusual attire; robes with pointed hats, shirts with cloaks, and trench coats with leather boots are all common.
In fact, wizards' attire has always been far removed from Muggle fashion, with only minor variations in the appearance of their formal robes.
Their clothing seems to have remained stagnant ever since they chose to conceal themselves in the 17th century.
Their attachment to old-fashioned clothing can perhaps be seen as a lingering attachment to old habits and bygone days, a kind of cultural pride.
But no matter how old-fashioned the clothing is, there is no outfit as strange as completely covering the head.
Especially when they are evenly distributed in one stand.
Sheen silently wondered who they might be.
Is Crouch Jr. in there?
Bellatrix Lestrange, Antonin Dolohoff, Fenrir Graybuck, August Lukwood —
Of those who escaped from Azkaban, how many participated in this operation?
Sheen was not quite sure.
He only knows one thing.
Whoever appears here, he will send them back to Azkaban, or to the border.
There's one, so let's count that.
"Troy scores!"
Bagman's booming voice drew everyone's attention. A roar of cheers erupted, shaking the stadium. "10-0, Ireland takes the lead!"
"Fight like this!"
Sheehan saw Marcus standing on the chair, the rose-shaped badge on his chest constantly screaming their names: "Troy-Marit-Moran!"
"Fantastic!"
Minerva then added that she was much more reserved, but the fervor in her eyes had not diminished at all.
Seeing her long-lost, carefree expression, Sheen silently glanced at the men in black robes again.
It's best to resolve this quickly, so as not to let them affect the professor's good mood.
Within ten minutes, Ireland scored two more goals, making the score 30-0, which drew a deafening roar of cheers and applause from their supporters in green.
Bulgaria scored a goal in the middle, but Ireland quickly followed with a 130-10 score.
The ensuing chaos was almost indescribable.
The intensity and ferocity of the competition reached a level that Sheen had never seen before.
Both batters showed no mercy: Volkov and Vokanov, in particular, didn't care whether their bats hit the ball or a person, they just swung wildly and recklessly.
Dimitrov charged straight at Moran, who was holding the Quaffle, and nearly knocked her off her broom.
"foul!"
The Irish supporters chanted in unison. They all stood up, forming a huge green wave.
"foul!"
Ludo Bagman's magically amplified voice repeated the two words, "Dimitrov injured Moran and deliberately flew over to collide with him—it's definitely going to be a penalty, the referee blew the whistle!"
The goblins all rose into the air again, this time forming a giant hand that made a very rude gesture toward the Veela on the other side of the field.
Upon seeing this, Veela immediately lost control.
Instead of dancing, they flew across the arena and began throwing handfuls of fiery objects at the goblins.
Looking through a telescope now, I realize they are not beautiful at all.
Instead, their faces elongated, transforming into sharp, beaked bird heads, and a pair of long, scaly wings emerged from their shoulders—
"Do you understand now, children?"
Mr. Weasley's voice boomed over the commotion of the crowd below, "So you can never just look at appearances!"
The wizarding officials from the ministry rushed into the arena to try to separate the Veela and the goblins, but with little success.
The fierce battle below is no less intense than the match taking place above.
"Leverski—Dimitrov—Moran—Troy—Malet—Ivanova—Moran again—Moran—Moran scores!"
Bachman explained as much as he could.
But the stadium was filled with the screams of Veela, the cracking of wands from ministry officials, and the angry roars of Bulgarians; the cheers of the Irish supporters could hardly be heard.
It's too chaotic.
The noise was too loud.
This, however, gave Sheen a strange realization.
Perhaps that's how wizards are.
Savagery, behind civilization, also signifies confidence and freedom.
The farce ended with Krum, the Bulgarian Seeker, catching the Golden Snitch.
However, despite Krum catching the Golden Snitch, Bulgaria trailed Ireland by ten points.
After the results were announced, Marcus and Minerva stood up and cheered together.
The referee, surrounded by goblins, was dragged off the field with Veela scratching his face.
"Sheen! Did you see that? That Bulgarian finder, he—"
'
Hermione cheered along with the crowd, her face flushed.
But after searching around, she couldn't find Sheen.
In contrast, Justin has also disappeared.
Where are they?
She muttered to herself.
My thoughts, however, were occupied by the contestants who had entered the private room.
"Let them come, but try not to enter the venue. We'll handle it."
"I can't do that."
"You should be able to do it. Their strength is insufficient to deal with the unknown situation, and they might even interfere with you, sir."
"Do you know what you're saying?!"
"Do you know who you might be facing?! We'll work together to resolve the battle when necessary, but the situation is unclear right now, so don't interfere with the battle plan we've already discussed."
Sirius turned off the communication and glanced at the location on the magic hand mirror.
-
The suspicious individuals had already been marked on the mirror, and they were now flashing red dots.
Then, he saw the tree branch in front of him twist and turn, and a tall figure emerged from the dense forest.
"Dear Mr. Green."
Good evening, Mr. Sirius.
Sheehan said, after thinking for a moment, he added, "Are you satisfied with tonight's game?"
"Ha, that's really—"
Sirius grinned, then immediately stopped. "They're not far ahead, they haven't spotted us, and they're heading towards those Muggles. We need to make our move now."
Sheen nodded.
He raised his arm, and the branches that had been obstructing his view bent at a speed visible to the naked eye. To Sirius's astonishment, he saw the people.
They were pointing their wands at several Muggles, including Mr. Payne, whom Sheen knew well.
They wore hoods on their heads and masks on their faces.
Above their heads, a struggling figure floated in the air, twisted into various bizarre shapes, as if the masked wizards on the ground were puppeteers, and the person above them was a puppet on strings, controlled by invisible ropes that emerged from the wands and soared into the air.
Loud jeers, maniacal laughter, and drunken shouts also reached over.
"Those damned people!"
Sirius roared.
