Chapter 247 Loosening the Soil in the Corner

Harley Quinn picked up the knife from the ground, her eyes blazing with fury. However, just as the knife was about to pierce Bruce Wayne's heart, her hand suddenly stopped. She gritted her teeth, struggling internally.

"No, killing him like this is too easy on that bastard. I'll make him wish he were dead! I'll make him regret what he did today forever." Harley's mind flashed back to what Bruce would have done to her and the Joker if Xiao Xian hadn't come. She took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down, her mind racing as she considered other ways to get revenge.

"Changed your mind?" Xiao Xian raised an eyebrow at her, not at all surprised. Even if the knife hadn't been plunged in, Bruce Wayne might have survived for some ridiculous reason, like being born with two hearts or having his heart in a different position than others.

However, it now seems that influencing Harley Quinn's mind is simpler than changing the location of Bruce Wayne's heart, in terms of the world's will.

"Yes." Harley sheathed her knife and sneered, "Bruce Wayne, I won't let you die so easily. I'll make you experience despair and show you the consequences of offending Harley Quinn."

"He's dreaming, he can't hear anything," Xiao Xian said, looking at Harley Quinn. "Besides, Harley Quinn's copyright belongs to Wayne Enterprises, and you haven't signed a contract with Wayne Enterprises yet, you're only working with the Joker, so legally speaking, Harley Quinn is still the Joker's ex-girlfriend."

"What I mean is, if you cut it like that, Bruce Wayne can easily repair it. There are plenty of ways to regenerate severed limbs in this world." Xiao Xian shook his head and said, "Come on, let me enchant your knife. This way, even if it regenerates after being cut, it will be useless."

"Enchanting...that's great!" Harley licked her lips excitedly, then handed the dagger in her hand to Xiao Xian without hesitation.

In downtown Gotham, neon lights flickered and traffic thronged. Harley Quinn and Shaw stood in a dimly lit alley, the faint sound of police sirens drifting in from afar.

Harley took a deep breath and turned to Xiao Xian: "Thank you so much, handsome. If it weren't for you, I'd still be stuck in that disgusting Wayne Manor."

She winked mischievously. "As for those thirty things, come find me when you've thought them through. I promise I'll keep my word."

Harley secretly thought to herself: You'll come looking for me again? No way! As long as I get back to the Joker, we'll run away from Gotham that very night and go somewhere no one can find us. Who will care about you then?

Xiao Xian seemed to see through her thoughts, a meaningful smile playing on his lips: "Actually, I've already thought about the first thing."

Harley paused, then asked somewhat warily, "What is it?"

Xiao Xian looked directly into her eyes and slowly said, "For the next week, you cannot contact the Joker. You must pretend that you are still being held by Bruce and haven't been rescued yet, and that no one else can find out."

Harley's eyes widened as she stared at Xiao Xian in disbelief: "What? You're kidding, right? I finally escaped, and now I just want to get back to my little Pudding!"

Xiao Xian shook his head, his tone firm: "This is my first request. Remember, you promised."

Harley's smile froze. After a moment, she regained her composure, but a flash of anger appeared in her eyes. "What if I don't listen?" she asked tentatively.

Xiao Xian's smile deepened, carrying a hint of danger. "If you have the guts, you can give it a try."

Their eyes met in the dimly lit alley, a tense atmosphere filling the air. Harley stared into Xiao Xian's eyes, her mind in turmoil. Xiao Xian had single-handedly infiltrated Wayne Manor to rescue her, and a single glance from him could render Bruce Wayne unconscious. Despite her reluctance to admit it, it was clear that once Xiao Xian made up his mind, her resistance would only provoke him.

"Okay, I promise you." Harley finally nodded, silently praying that this wouldn't have serious consequences. "I agree to your first point."

Xiao Xian nodded in satisfaction, but didn't forget to remind him, "Remember, you still have twenty-nine things to complete."

Harley's face darkened upon hearing this, and she immediately wanted to slap herself twice across the face for her earlier boastful remarks.

"Okay, then where should I stay? Bruce Wayne's eyes and ears are everywhere in Gotham, and I don't want to be discovered by him," Harley asked, a hint of anxiety in her voice. She suddenly regretted not just killing Bruce outright.

"Don't worry, I've already prepared a place. Follow me," Xiao Xian said with a faint smile.

The two walked through several dark alleys and finally arrived at a secluded underground parking garage. Xiao Xian opened the door of a black luxury car and gestured for Harley to get in. The car started and quickly drove away from the city center, heading towards the outskirts of Gotham.

Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a luxurious estate. The estate was surrounded by a high iron fence, and the gardens inside were exceptionally lush with vegetation, bathed in soft, warm light. The estate gates slowly opened, and Xiao Xian drove in, stopping in front of a mansion.

"Welcome to your new home," Xiao Xian said with a smile, leading her into the mansion.

The mansion was lavishly decorated, with a spacious and bright living room and furniture that blended classic and modern styles, creating a comfortable and elegant atmosphere. Harley looked around and couldn't help but feel a little more relaxed.

"This place is really nice, so much better than where I used to live," Harley said with a smile, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "Whose house is this?"

"Poison Ivy," Xiao Xian replied with a smile. After thinking about it carefully, he realized that he didn't necessarily have to do the digging himself out. In the anime, Poison Ivy had successfully dug someone out, so he decided to let her help loosen the soil first.

"What! Are you crazy? Poison Ivy is one of Wayne Enterprises' supervillains. What's the difference between living with her and living under Bruce's nose?" Harley Quinn exclaimed excitedly upon hearing this.

"So what does this prove? The Joker is also a supervillain of Wayne Enterprises," Xiao Xian said, shrugging.
