Chapter 248 Eavesdropping

Girls' friendships develop quickly; before going to bed, Harley and Poison Ivy had become inseparable best friends.

Inside the mansion, night deepened. The two sat on the edge of the bed. Poison Ivy poured Harley a glass of red wine, then picked up a glass for herself and gently swirled it. They drank and chatted, their conversation ranging from their recent adventures to Gotham City gossip, and the atmosphere gradually relaxed.

"You know what, Poison Ivy? I know a super delicious cake shop that you'll never want to leave," Harley said excitedly.

"Really? Where?" Poison Ivy asked curiously.

"It's right in downtown Gotham, in a place called 'Sweet Corner.' I love chocolate cake, while Pudding prefers strawberry cream cake," Harley said, her eyes sparkling.

Poison Ivy smiled and nodded. "That sounds great, I'll definitely give it a try."

Just as the two were chatting animatedly, Poison Ivy glanced at her phone and gave a slightly apologetic smile. "Harley, it's almost time, I have to go to his room."

"Him?" Harley looked at Poison Ivy with some confusion, following her gaze towards Xiao Xian's room. Surely she couldn't be there at this hour just to chat. "Are you two dating?"

Poison Ivy hesitated for a moment and said, "It's not really dating, it's more like a physical relationship."

Harley couldn't contain her curiosity and blurted out, "Why would you choose Xiao Xian? To be honest, he's just average-looking. You don't need to choose someone like him as a mahjong partner, do you?"

Poison Ivy smiled mysteriously, a hint of infatuation flashing in her eyes, and said, "Because he's incredibly powerful, extremely powerful."

Harley frowned, somewhat skeptical. "Extraordinarily powerful? You mean his strength? Or what I'm thinking?"

Poison Ivy nodded and said mysteriously, "That includes everything. His abilities are far beyond your comprehension, and the same goes for other aspects. Do you want to give it a try?"

Harley hesitated for a moment, then immediately waved her hand in refusal. "No, no, no, I don't want to try. Besides, I already have a boyfriend."

Seeing this, Poison Ivy laughed, her tone teasing. "Harley, it seems you're still deeply in love with the Joker. But speaking of which, don't you really want to experience Xiao Xian's prowess? The kind you'll never forget."

Harley shook her head firmly. "No, thank you for your kindness, Poison Ivy."

Poison Ivy sighed softly, walked over, and patted Harley on the shoulder. "I understand you. Everyone has their own choices. But if one day you change your mind, remember what I said. Not trying would definitely be your loss."

"Well then, have a nice evening," Harley said finally, with a hint of teasing in her voice.

Poison Ivy nodded and gave Harley a gentle hug. "Okay, Harley, goodnight. Hope you get some rest."

The mansion was quiet in the dead of night. Harley Quinn lay in bed, unable to fall asleep, Poison Ivy's words echoing in her mind.

Poison Ivy said that Xiao Xian was exceptionally powerful, extremely powerful. Although Harley didn't intend to betray the Joker no matter how powerful Xiao Xian was, she was still very curious about just how powerful Xiao Xian really was.

Just how powerful was Xiao Xian? This question lingered in her mind like a fly that wouldn't leave.

Finally, curiosity triumphed over reason. Harley tiptoed out of bed and crept out of the dormitory. The corridor was silent, except for the sound of her rapid heartbeat.

Soon, she arrived at Xiao Xian's room. Harley took a deep breath and pressed her ear against the door. At first, she could only hear indistinct sounds, but gradually, some subtle noises reached her ears.

Suddenly, Poison Ivy's voice sent a chill down Harley's spine. Then came Poison Ivy's suppressed voice. Harley felt her face burn and her heart race.

"Oh my god," Harley muttered to herself, feeling both embarrassed and excited. She didn't know why, but just hearing the voice made her feel dozens of times more excited than when she was with the Joker.

Harley had only intended to eavesdrop for a few minutes before heading back, but before she knew it, time was ticking away. She stood at the door, her legs beginning to go numb from standing for so long, yet she still couldn't move.

The sounds in the room rose and fell, sometimes intense, sometimes subdued, but never completely ceased. Harley checked her phone and was surprised to find that a full two hours had passed.

"My God," she exclaimed softly, "this is too outrageous."

Harley had to admit that Poison Ivy's earlier words were not an exaggeration. Xiao Xian's stamina was indeed astonishing, far exceeding her expectations.

Just then, the noise in the room suddenly intensified, and Harley felt her cheeks burning and her heart racing.

Harley knew she shouldn't keep listening, but her feet seemed rooted to the spot and she couldn't move. Although she couldn't see the scene, just by listening to the sounds, Harley knew how intense the battle was and how Poison Ivy was being routed.

A few more minutes passed, and the room finally quieted down. Harley took a deep breath, trying to calm her erratic breathing and rapid heartbeat.

"Unbelievable," Harley muttered to herself. "Poison Ivy was right, this is absolutely beyond my comprehension."

Then Harley looked down and realized a serious problem.

"Oh no, I don't have a change of clothes."

However, just as Harley was about to head to Poison Ivy's room to find a change of clothes, the familiar voice came from inside again.

"You're kidding, right? There's no cooldown time?"

Harley was completely shocked, but she still obediently pressed her ear against the wall again to eavesdrop on the battle. To be honest, even though she was just watching and listening, it was much more exciting than any of Harley's previous battles.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains into the dining room as the three sat together for breakfast. Harley, with prominent dark circles under her eyes, yawned listlessly and stirred her cereal listlessly. In contrast, Poison Ivy and Xiao Xian looked radiant and full of energy.

Poison Ivy noticed Harley's condition and asked with concern, "Harley, are you alright? Why do you have dark circles under your eyes? Are you still not used to the accommodations here?"

Harley forced a smile and nodded: "Yeah, maybe. New environment, I haven't been sleeping well."

Harley's gaze darted back and forth between Poison Ivy and Xiao Xian, her mind filled with doubt. They hadn't slept a wink last night, so why didn't they show any signs of fatigue now?

Xiao Xian seemed oblivious to Harley's scrutiny, enjoying his breakfast as he occasionally exchanged a glance with Poison Ivy.

Breakfast continued, and Harley tried to hide her fatigue and curiosity. She noticed the frequent eye contact between Poison Ivy and Xiao Xian, which she found strange but couldn't understand.

But today's breakfast was really good; it smelled so wonderful that Harley's mouth was watering.

Just then, Harley accidentally spilled a spoonful of cereal, and the milky white liquid dripped onto the floor.

"Oh dear," Harley exclaimed softly, quickly grabbing a few tissues. "I'll clean up."

Harley bent down to wipe the floor, but strangely, the fragrance under the table was stronger. Following the direction of the scent, Harley curiously glanced in the direction of Xiao Xian and Poison Ivy, and caught a glimpse of a scene that shocked her.

Harley sat bolt upright, her cheeks instantly turning bright red. Her gaze darted back and forth between Xiao Xian and Poison Ivy, her mind racing as she tried to comprehend what she had just witnessed.

"How is this possible?" Harley exclaimed inwardly. Poison Ivy really hadn't lied to her. Even disregarding everything else, her raw strength alone was outrageous, not to mention her incredible stamina. Harley simply couldn't believe it.

Besides, those two look pretty serious, but what are they doing down there while I'm still here!
