Chapter 277 Bruce! What are you doing?

After finishing his business, Bruce dragged his tired body back to his bedroom door.

Bruce's hand had just touched the doorknob when he faintly heard a familiar sound. He stopped and listened intently, realizing it was Xiao Xian and his wife Selena playing cards in their bedroom.

However, Bruce wasn't angry at all; instead, he felt a strange excitement. He quickly pressed his ear to the crack in the door, trying to eavesdrop on their conversation. Unfortunately, the bedroom was very soundproof, and Bruce could only hear some indistinct sounds, unable to make out the specific content.

Bruce could only vaguely hear Xiao Xian's voice asking Selena, "Between me and Bruce Wayne, who's a better card player? Who do you prefer?"

After more than ten minutes, Bruce suddenly could not hear any sound from inside the room. His anxiety intensified, and he pressed his ear almost against the door, trying to catch any faint sound.

Just then, the door suddenly opened, and Xiao Xian stood in the doorway, looking at Bruce in surprise, raising an eyebrow and asking, "Mr. Wayne, what are you doing?"

Bruce was momentarily at a loss, his gaze quickly sweeping across the room. He noticed that Selena hadn't noticed him. She was lying on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling, probably because she was too tired.

Bruce breathed a sigh of relief and quickly gestured for Xiao Xian to close the door. Once the door was closed, he anxiously asked, "What was Selena's answer just now?"

Xiao Xian raised an eyebrow and asked suspiciously, "What answer?"

Bruce eagerly explained, "So, what was Selena's answer when you asked her who was better at cards, me or you?"

Xiao Xian looked at Bruce in surprise and asked, "When did you get here? How long have you been listening outside?"

Bruce glared impatiently at Xiao Xian and urged, "Never mind that, just tell me what Selena's answer was? Did she think you were better or me?"

Xiao Xian shrugged and said helplessly, "What's the difference? It was me playing cards with Selena last night and just now. As for the old you, didn't Selena already say last night that she thinks I'm better? The old you was a piece of trash compared to the current me."

Hearing Xiao Xian's reply, Bruce's face flushed with anger. He glared at Xiao Xian and said angrily, "How dare you talk to your boss like that? How dare you call me a piece of trash?"

Xiao Xian sighed and replied helplessly, "It's not my fault, these are your wife Selena's exact words."

Bruce was momentarily speechless, but could only say firmly, "I don't care, you have to respect the boss when you talk to him."

Xiao Xian nodded helplessly: "Okay, I understand."

Bruce nodded in satisfaction, then asked, "Why did you suddenly come out? Aren't you going to continue playing cards with Selena?"

Xiao Xian smiled wryly, "I would like to continue playing cards with Selena, but as you can see, she's exhausted. I think she'll break down if we keep playing. She needs to rest for a while."

Bruce pondered for a moment and said, "I have some potions that restore stamina."

Xiao Xian glanced at Bruce and shook his head: "But how am I supposed to get this potion for Selena? It's not something an ordinary assistant like me can get my hands on."

Bruce nodded, admitting, "That's true." He thought for a moment, then said, "Well then, I'll think of an excuse to give the potion to Selena later."

Bruce turned and walked to his study, opened a hidden safe, and took out a box of various potions, including a stamina-restoring potion. He carefully checked the potion, and after confirming that everything was correct, he closed the safe and went to Selena's room.

Bruce gently opened the door. Selena, hearing the sound, assumed it was Xiao Xian and looked towards the door with delight. Bruce smiled and shook his head: "No, it's just that the company has developed a batch of special medicines. Bruce smiled slightly and handed her the medicine box. "Great. Here, take this box of medicine. I'm going back to work now." With that, Bruce gently stroked Selena's hair and left the room.

After leaving the room, Bruce walked to the corner outside, where Xiao Xian was still waiting. He whispered to Xiao Xian:

Xiao Xian nodded and replied, "I understand, Mr. Wayne."
