Hogwarts: Lacus doesn't want to be a witch who destroys nations.
Chapter 11 Of course I'm a Slytherin
The Magical Aid Society, to put it simply, is a group of skilled young wizards providing one-on-one tutoring. Inevitably, some will miss out. A tall, thin boy with a few noticeable freckles on his pale face rubbed his hands nervously. "Mr. Riddle...you're absolutely right, but...but, basic spells, like the Levitation Charm..." He paused awkwardly, his face turning even redder, "...the way it's written in the book is too convoluted, I really find it hard to control..."
A few suppressed snickers rang out from the crowd.
"Oh, Alphad..." Abraxas Malfoy beside him lazily drew out his tone, clearly mocking, "Levitation Charm? The kind that even house-elves can easily master... It's a wonder you're from the Black family." He didn't finish his sentence, but the mocking tone at the end was unusually jarring in the air.
The boy named Alphad looked as if he had been pricked by a needle, and suddenly lowered his head, his shoulders hunching up.
A great opportunity! Lux's mission radar lit up instantly.
This is the perfect opportunity to complete the article, "[Reject the Octopus: Hogwarts seems a bit too urbanized; as a Lady of Light, you should stop school bullying.]".
"I'll go!" Lux's clear voice broke through the awkwardness and mockery. She stepped out of the shadows by the wall and walked directly between Alphad and the boy who had mocked him, her face facing Tom. Miss Lux's long golden hair shimmered softly in the dim light.
"I've learned the basic spells pretty well." Lux's tone was light, with a perfectly friendly smile on her face, but only she could feel the barely suppressed eagerness in her voice. "I can teach everyone in the guild any spells we've learned, I guarantee they'll be clear and easy to understand. Let's start with the levitation spell he just mentioned."
Lux turned to the boy named Alphad. "Alphad, right? Don't be nervous," she said, trying to soften her voice as much as possible, "Now stand still and grip your wand tightly."
Alphad grasped at a straw, frantically pulling out his wand and gripping it tightly.
"First, completely relax your wrist," Lux explained as she demonstrated, her gaze sweeping over the focused faces around her. "Imagine the wand as an extension of your fingertips, not a piece of clumsy wood. Second, imagine this stool flying. And then," she raised her voice slightly, clearly uttering the spell, "Wingardium Leviosa!"
The stool next to Tom's feet flew up steadily, then floated as Lux waved her wand. After a slight tap of the wand, the wooden stool landed smoothly.
"Now you try it. Remember that 'wing' is a light syllable, 'arduus' is an stressed syllable, and 'leviosa' is connected to the preceding syllable. Of course, the most important thing is to imagine it."
Alphad took a deep breath, raised his wrist, the movement still somewhat stiff, but much smoother than before. The wand drew a clear arc, the sound trembling slightly, yet exceptionally clear:
"Yugadimurleviosa!"
The incantation, like an invisible thread, precisely wrapped around the dilapidated wooden stool.
The stool wobbled slightly at first, and then, under the watchful eyes of more than a dozen pairs of people, it broke free of its restraints and floated steadily in the air, about a foot off the ground. Although its height was limited and its posture was far less elegant and composed than when Lux demonstrated it, it was indeed floating, without falling or flying wildly out of control.
He stared incredulously at the wand in his hand, then at the floating stool in the air. A flush of wild joy instantly spread across his pale face, making even his freckles seem more vivid. He was so excited he was almost incoherent: "It...it's floating! Miss Lux! It's really floating!"
"Relax, relax, now slowly put it down."
He carefully, almost holding his breath, mimicked Lux's earlier movements, gently waving his wand. The stool obediently and clumsily followed the wand's guidance, tracing a small arc in the air, before finally pausing as the tip of the wand dipped downwards.
With a loud "bang," the stool landed steadily on the ground without any damage.
It worked!
"Well done, Alphad!" Lux exclaimed sincerely, a bright smile spreading across her face, her golden hair seeming to shine even brighter in the dim light.
[Complete special mission: Reject the octopus, Light Points +1]
Six years later, this is the first time Lux has earned Light Points. The moment the points increased, Lux felt the world soften.
Although it's mostly an illusion.
"A precise demonstration, a clear explanation, Miss Lux." Tom's voice rang out at the right moment, carrying just the right amount of appreciation and praise. He stood in the center of the crowd, his face bearing an impeccable, gentle smile.
"You've proven the value of the Mutual Aid Society far more than those pointless words," he said meaningfully, his gaze sweeping lightly over Abraxas, whose face was somewhat pale. "We are all pure wizards; there should be no barriers between us."
Alphad bowed deeply to Lux and Tom, his voice choked with emotion, "Thank you so much! Mr. Riddle, Miss Luxana! I...I..."
Just then, "tap, tap, tap..."
The rhythmic sound of footsteps could be clearly heard through the castle's heavy wooden doors and stone walls.
It was the sound of the administrator, Pringle's, footsteps. The sound of his signature leather boots hitting the ground was frightening to the students who had broken the rules in the quiet castle at night.
The classroom fell into a deathly silence. The smiles and relaxation on the faces of all the young wizards froze. Alphad, who had just been immersed in the joy of success, turned deathly pale in an instant.
Tom's gentle smile vanished instantly, replaced by a cold decisiveness. "The party is over." His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an unquestionable authority, clearly reaching everyone's ears. "Immediately, quietly evacuate and return to the common lounge via different secret routes."
Without a word, the young wizards sprang into action, their movements swift and silent, like a swarm of startled snakes scattering into the shadows. Lux reacted just as quickly, taking off her robes and mingling with a few Slytherin students as she ran toward the exit Tom had scouted beforehand, the one furthest from the main corridor, which led to a storage room on the second floor where cleaning supplies were kept.
If they get caught again, Gryffindor will lose 60 points in a week, making some special missions much harder to complete.
The storeroom reeked of a pungent mixture of dust and disinfectant. Lux and several other Slytherin students held their breath, listening intently to the sounds in the hallway outside; Pringle's heavy footsteps seemed to be fading away. They breathed a sigh of relief, cautiously pushed open the storeroom door, and prepared to slip back into the common room.
However, Miss Lux has recently had terrible luck.
Just as she peeked halfway out into the relatively bright main corridor, a tall figure emerged from around the corner like a ghost. The newcomer wore an elegant dark wizard's robe, a gleaming prefect's badge pinned to his chest, and was handsome—Felius Burke, the sixth-year prefect, a Hufflepuff prodigy known for his strictness and adherence to school rules.
After scanning the area, Bock instantly spotted a few people sneaking out of the storage room, especially Lux's striking blonde hair under the corridor wall lamp.
"Halt!" Burke's voice boomed. "Curfew is over. What are you doing here?" His gaze fixed on Lux. "This storeroom is not a shortcut to Slytherin. Slytherin loses 10 points! You'll have to explain to your Headmaster later. Now go back to your own dormitories!"
Oh no! I got caught by the prefect, and after curfew, I came out from a suspicious location!
Wait a minute, it seems he only deducted points from Slytherin.
Lux was too clever. Of course, to do something bad, you have to disguise your identity first. Take off the robe with the Gryffindor logo and walk with the Slytherin people. People will subconsciously think that you are a Slytherin student.
Lux immediately lowered her head and returned to the Slytherin common room under Burke's supervision.
"Why are you here?" Tom, who had retreated from another path, looked at Lux, who was walking in with the other Slytherins, with a strange expression.
"Tom, you know, I've always been a Slytherin."
Tom frowned, then looked at the Slytherin hourglass that had lost one layer, and understood something.
He turned to all the Slytherin students, his voice regaining its gentle yet authoritative tone: "This is a very important lesson, one we all share. It reminds us that we must be more careful in all our actions. Now, you may leave; you have classes tomorrow."
Lux looked at Tom with gratitude. Tom had become more and more like a leader in the past two months, giving people the feeling of being very shrewd. Lux didn't know if this was a good thing or a bad thing. You can't just say that someone is turning bad just because they are growing up, especially since Tom had protected her today.
"If all else fails, let's just beat her up. We'll find an excuse later." As Lux left, Tom had no idea that he was already being prepared for a beating.
