Chapter 75 The Rescue of the Bandits

Japanese national superstar Ken Takakura once starred in a movie called "Manhunt".

The general plot is that Ken Takakura plays Toki, a Tokyo prosecutor who is falsely accused of robbery and other crimes. In order to clear his name, he investigates the truth while evading police pursuit.

Cheng Sui sat in the back seat of the speeding car, turning his head to look out the rear window.

With flashing police lights and roaring engines, several police cars were hot on their heels.

Cheng Sui felt like Du Qiu, who was evading police pursuit, except that Du Qiu had a plane given to him by a beautiful girl, while he only had a car stolen from a gang.

Having only been in Japan for two days, I was first attacked by a biker gang, and now I'm being chased by the police. This plot is just too melodramatic.

Turning around and sitting in the chair, Cheng Sui suddenly felt an urge to smoke.

Sakura, sitting in the driver's seat, glanced at the rearview mirror, suddenly accelerated, and abruptly turned the steering wheel without warning!

This Nissan Maxima crashed through the green belt, veered straight into the adjacent lane, and began driving against traffic at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour!

Several cars braked suddenly, and several narrowly missed each other, but Sakura maneuvered her vehicle like a fish, precisely weaving through the gaps in the traffic.

Crow gripped the handrail tightly, his face pale, and patted Cheng Sui on the shoulder: "Don't look anymore, we'll be fine once we get to the Asahi Group's base. Those gangsters are definitely more afraid of the police than we are, and we're even driving their car."

"Brother Crow, your tone of comfort is very cool," Cheng Sui steadied himself and calmly pointed out, "but your legs are shaking like you're playing a pipa."

Cheng rolled down the car window and looked back, only to see that the police car had been left far behind. Helpless, he stopped at the intersection and could only watch them disappear into the traffic.

The crow took out a cigarette from its pocket, but couldn't light it after trying for a long time. So it just put it in its mouth and forced a smile.

"W-What are you talking about! Sakura came back from the Middle East battlefield! She can drive a tank with the flair of a supercar, a mere sedan—right?" He finally couldn't help but look at Sakura for confirmation.

Sakura completely ignored him. She swerved the steering wheel again, and the Maxima executed a sharp drift, swerving back into the normal lane. The engine roared even more fiercely, and the speed surged once more!

The Maxima is a sporty model from Nissan, a favorite among low-level members of the Japanese underworld, used to facilitate their missions.

This Nissan Maxima, which was just a means of transportation in the hands of gangsters, was squeezed out of its potential to rival that of a performance sports car under Sakura's control.

She was racing against time; every second she gained could give her a crucial advantage in the next move.

After shaking off the police, Sakura sped along and soon arrived at the headquarters of the Asahi Group.

The Asahi Group was completely dark inside and out. Normally, such a yakuza company would have people on duty 24 hours a day, so the lights would never go out.

"Something's not right." Cheng Sui lightly pressed his palm on the hilt of the Kirikage Maru, got out of the car, and spoke in a low voice.

Currently, Cheng Sui and his group are about 100 meters away from the Asahi Group's base. He can smell an extremely strong stench of blood, indicating that something must have happened here.

Crow and Cherry also drew their weapons and warily surveyed their surroundings.

Upon arriving at the Asahi Group's base, Cheng Sui immediately noticed the headless corpse lying on the ground.

Watching Cheng Sui squatting on the ground carefully examining the corpse, Crow couldn't help but frown: "I thought you were a pretty decent person before, I didn't expect you to have this kind of fetish."

"The incision is unusually clean; the spine, along with the flesh, was severed in one stroke," Cheng Sui warned in a low voice. "Be careful; a tough character has arrived."

He kicked open the gate to the camp.

The intense smell of blood was almost tangible, nearly causing Cheng Sui to vomit on the spot.

Inside the reception hall, corpses lay scattered haphazardly on the floor. Each person's face was frozen in extreme terror, as if they had witnessed something horrific before their deaths.

"They were all killed with a single blow," Raven said, turning his head away from the nauseating smell of blood. "This is no longer a gang fight; it's a one-sided massacre."

Cheng Sui arrived at the hall, where there were the most corpses. It was clear that the Asahi Group members were on guard when the murderer arrived, as everyone was holding a gun and the walls were riddled with bullet holes.

His gaze fell on the dead man in the center of the hall. He was a burly man wearing a red haori, clearly the leader of the Asahi Group.

Unlike the other victims who showed signs of fear and helplessness, the Asahi Group leader appeared much calmer. He remained seated before his death, having been stabbed in the heart from behind.

Cheng Sui noticed that the leader was holding a white card in his hand.

Cheng Sui picked up the card, and a faint chrysanthemum fragrance wafted out. On the front of the card was a chrysanthemum swaying in the wind, outlined in ink, and on the back was his name written in regular script. There was no address, phone number, email address, or any other information.

"Kazama Ruri—" Cheng Sui read out the name on the business card.

Suddenly, blinding light shone in from the window! Cheng Sui couldn't help but squint.

"Mitaka City Police Department! You are hereby arrested on charges of intentional homicide and endangering public safety!"

Cheng shielded his eyes from the bright light with his hand, and only then could he see the situation outside.

More than a dozen police cars had surrounded the camp at some point, their xenon headlights illuminating the interior as if it were daytime.

Fully armed police officers hid behind the car, the muzzles of their standard rifles all pointed at the house.

Several red laser dots quickly locked onto Cheng Sui, a warning from a sniper in the distance.

In the eyes of the police, Cheng Sui standing in the middle of the hall with a knife in hand, surrounded by corpses, and taking something from the bodies, was clearly a case of murder and robbery.

Several reporters got out of the police car, their flashbulbs going off as they captured Cheng Sui's appearance. It had been years since Japan had seen such a bloody gang fight; it was sure to make the front page of the Asahi Shimbun.

"Damn it, how come the police are here in just a few minutes? Even the reporters are here." Crow hid under the table, uttering vulgarities.

Sakura pressed herself against the door, her brows furrowed in confusion as she pondered how to break the deadlock.

Cheng Sui wasn't particularly surprised. He had sensed something was wrong long ago. These police officers had probably been positioned nearby, just waiting for them to step into this carefully laid trap.

Cheng Sui turned his head and looked at the dozens of police officers watching him warily outside the floor-to-ceiling window.

He slowly channeled the Nine-Tails' chakra within his body. A violent emotion surged within him, and his pupils began to transform into dangerous vertical lines. "BOOM!!!"

Just then, the roar of a car engine grew louder as it approached!

A black Hummer SUV, like a raging beast, suddenly burst out of the darkness and smashed into a police car!

Wearing a black mask, Fingel stood up from the Hummer's cargo bed, holding a submachine gun in each hand, and accurately fired at the police car's tires.

"Don't be afraid, junior, I'm here!" Fingel shouted, sounding just like a ruthless bank robber.

Cheng Sui couldn't help but smile as she looked at Fingel's new look.

"Don't try to look cool standing so high, they have snipers!" Yaksha opened the back door, yelling at Fingel as he threw smoke grenades into the crowd.

The Hummer executed a sharp drift, smashing through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Asahi Group's headquarters. Genji pushed open the driver's side door and shouted as he charged forward:

"Get in the car quickly!"
