Chapter 179 William, the Progenitor of Werewolves

Chapter 179 William, the Progenitor of Werewolves (Happy National Day to everyone!)

A glint of joy in Aresa's eyes as she meticulously described the entire process of her massacre of the asylum squad, adding at the end, "Qin! You're right, people can be scared to death."

Qin Jin's fingers traced across her porcelain-white face, his eyes filled with undisguised approval: "Well done!"

His drawn-out voice was full of laughter: "This time, you've turned it into an art, Alessa, it's absolutely fantastic!" The corners of his mouth turned up in a very pleased smile: "Let them die because of their own idea, in the Eastern proverb, it's called an eye for an eye, and I quite like it."

Aresa nodded emphatically, clearly agreeing with Qin Jin's summary. The most satisfying situation for her was being able to have fun while also receiving Qin Jin's affirmation.

Then, she tilted her head slightly, her gaze seemingly penetrating the wooden wall, sensing the eerie atmosphere that permeated the entire monastery area.

"This place," she pointed to the ground, "is strange."

"Yes, it's very strange."

Qin Jin's expression hardened, and he responded seriously to Alessa's opinion: "The nuns here have been dead for a long time, but they seem unaware that they are dead, and they still maintain their original memories and lives—I think there is some kind of power here, perhaps the thing controlled by Jesus' blood pressure."

Alessa didn't care much about these things; she only knew that Qin Jin wanted something from them, and that was enough. Therefore, her question was simple and direct: "When are we going to break in?"

"No, no, no, we can't force our way in," Qin Jin rejected Alessa's violent approach: "I feel that even if the blood of Jesus is inside, it must be well hidden, and we might not be able to find it by force; besides, these nuns' memories are stuck in the era of World War I, and they may not know the secret of the blood of Jesus—let's take it one step at a time! Let's look for it first."

Alessa paused for a moment, then said, "Me?"

"Well, there are nuns all here, so I'm afraid you'll have to go—" Before Qin Jin could finish speaking, George, who had been engrossed in fiddling with his tactical tablet, suddenly jumped up from his stool, gesturing wildly.

"Police Officer Qin! The connection is complete!"

George's voice trembled with excitement as he proudly handed over Qin Jin's phone and tactical tablet: "I've learned this method they used! I'm so lucky, I found it right away! Look! There's a signal—"

His words came to an abrupt end.

Because Qin Jin's phone, which had just regained signal, suddenly started vibrating violently as if it had gone crazy, with a dense barrage of notification sounds, and the screen was instantly flooded with countless messages and missed call notifications.

When Qin Jin opened his phone, he saw that almost all of the messages were from Selena, ranging from casual to urgent, totaling more than ten messages and over thirty phone calls.

Qin Jin immediately dialed back.

The phone rang three or four times before being quickly answered. Selena's rapid, slightly panting voice came through the receiver, accompanied by the sound of whistling wind, as if the phone was moving at high speed.

"Qin?! Tian! You finally called back! What happened to your phone? Did something go wrong?"

"Yes, something went wrong, there was no signal," Qin Jin briefly mentioned, then immediately changed the subject to her: "Why did you call me so urgently? Is something wrong?"

"I've got a problem on my end!" Selena exclaimed quickly. "The plan to kill Marcus needs to be carried out immediately! He's gone mad, he wants to release William, and he's stolen the key too—"

"William? Who?"

"The progenitor of werewolves, and Marcus's brother!" Selena's voice was filled with rage. "Now that Victor and Amelia are no longer in charge, Marcus wants to release William and turn the world into a vampire and werewolf kingdom! I must stop him! I brought holy water and a cross; I must get to William's prison before Marcus and burn it to ashes—I need your power!"

"I'm sorry, I'm afraid I can't come now!" Thinking about the fusion effect of Michael's blood, Qin Jin still felt some regret: "I'm currently deep in the Transylvanian forest, unable to get out without transportation. More importantly, I've found what I need, so I can't leave for the time being!"

"What you wanted—?" Selena seemed to have caught something crucial, her voice rising two octaves: "My God! Bran Castle—you found the right Bran Castle?"

"Pretty much, but my destination isn't Bran Castle; it's just a landmark, it should be nearby—"

At this point, Qin Jin's heart skipped a beat, and a strange premonition arose within him. He immediately asked, "Why do you ask that?"

"Because there's another Bran Castle nearby where I'm going!"

Selena's tone was tinged with surprise and doubt: "I feel like this Bran Castle is the one you're looking for, so—" Her voice even changed slightly: "We're not looking for the same place, are we?"

Qin Jin's lips twitched involuntarily. He had to admit, this possibility seemed very high now, but he didn't say it directly. Instead, he asked, "What kind of building is William being imprisoned in?"

"That's an ancient castle! A real medieval castle, one of Victor's early castles. Later, he secretly built an underground prison to imprison William inside, and then it collapsed—hundreds of years later, a grand duke repaired the castle. In order to protect William's secret, Victor deliberately went to attract the attention of the abyss and opened the passage to hell—"

She paused, trying hard to recall the secrets of her tribe.

"After the Grand Duke's death, the Church converted the castle into a monastery, hoping to suppress the passage below with prayers and idols—yes, a monastery! You wouldn't happen to be—"

Qin Jin gave a helpless, bitter smile: "You're right! I'm in the castle monastery right now, and what I need is inside."

A brief, deathly silence fell on the other end of the phone.

The only indication that the call had not been interrupted was the sound of rushing wind.

Several seconds passed before Selena spoke incredulously, "—Say that again? Where are you?"

"I said, I'm in the monastery. If possible, I can get William out and burn him for you!"

Qin Jin repeated himself, then asked, "Do you know where William is being held? Or should I go find out for you?"

Selena seemed a little stunned by this astonishing coincidence, pausing for a couple of seconds before replying, "It seems—you can't get in! Both doors inside require vampire blood to open. Why don't you wait for us?"

"Alright then." Qin Jin quickly made a decision: "How long will it take you to arrive?"

"Michael and I are traveling at full speed, and we should arrive in about—no more than 24 hours, maybe a dozen or so!" Selena gave an approximate timeframe: "—Stay in touch!"

The phone hangs up.

The cabin fell silent for a moment.

Although George couldn't understand everything, he understood that Qin Jin wasn't planning to ask for help for the time being, but was waiting for someone to come.

He cautiously suggested, "Officer Qin? Shouldn't we call the police? Or contact the embassy?"

Qin Jin glanced at him, then stuffed his phone into his pocket: "Call the police? The town's sheriff has probably already been bribed. Do you think a game of this scale could go on without the tacit approval or even the involvement of local powers?"

He remembered Habib, who had clumsily tried to save people outside Sibiu Airport.

"Did you see that Habib? He was arrested in Sibiu. I suspect this organization's reach is deeper than we think. A distant solution won't solve our immediate problem; we have to rely on ourselves to survive now."

George wanted to say something, but seeing Qin Jin's unquestionable eyes, all his words stuck in his throat, and he could only nod with a pale face.

Just then, Alessa suddenly raised her head, her gray-blue pupils looking in a certain direction outside the wooden house, and said softly, "Qin, someone else is coming."

The atmosphere inside the cabin, which had just eased slightly, instantly tensed up again.
