Chapter 189 William is dead

With the help of this local guide, things went smoothly.

Sister Mary's insect-like body slithered rapidly through the corridor, leading Qin Jin and his group precisely towards the basement. Along the way, they encountered various mutated nuns, but Mary easily dealt with them all in the name of Deacon Helen.

Qin Jin, along with Alessa and two silent zombies, followed Sister Mary to the cold, damp underground storage room.

The indoor air was heavy and stagnant, filled with a strong musty and dusty smell; it was one of the few places in the entire monastery where dust had accumulated.

His gaze instantly locked onto the unusually thick stone wall at the end of the storage room, in front of which stood an ancient stone statue of the Virgin Mary, as if silently guarding something.

He didn't touch the statue, but walked straight to the corner of the wall, stretched out his foot, and kicked the seemingly solid stone wall twice, neither too hard nor too softly.

"Bang! Bang!"

The sound was muffled, and a hollow echo could be heard coming from inside. Qin Jin no longer hesitated, gathered superhuman strength, and kicked the same spot several more times!

"Bang! Boom—!"

After a few muffled thuds, he kicked down a large section of the stone wall, and rubble and dust fell down, revealing a dark hole.

Behind the wall was another passage that was completely sealed off!

A chilly, yet exceptionally dry air, carrying a faint smell of decay, wafted out from behind the cave.

This is a completely different passageway, with the walls on both sides densely covered with crosses of various shapes, metal, wood, and stone, most of which are rusted and mottled or covered with cracks.

The ground is also painted with huge cross patterns, and in the niches on both sides of the passage, there are some holy relics such as dusty chalices, tattered Bible covers, or dried wreaths.

At the end of this corridor filled with religious symbols is a closed wooden door, also nailed with a huge cross, but the door panel has a large crack, as if it had been hit by some enormous force.

Qin Jin immediately understood; this was the wall the priest had built after the exorcism, used to seal the place where the original grand duke had summoned the demon, and also a passage to hell—

Therefore, the blood of Jesus is very likely hidden here, used to seal away the demon!

He casually picked up a wooden cross from the wall and used it as a probe, rhythmically tapping on the stone walls on either side, searching for hidden spaces.

If so, it is most likely a place where the blood of Jesus is contained.

Under Qin Jin's command, the two zombies also began searching, while Alessa tried her best to sense the presence on both sides of the corridor. Unfortunately, until they arrived at the broken door, both sides were solid, with no gaps to hide behind.

The wooden door burst open inwards with a loud crash, sending splinters of wood flying and revealing what lay behind it.

This is a rather spacious stone chamber.

In the center of the ground, a huge six-pointed star array was shocking. Even though it was covered with a thick layer of dust, the dark brown residue from when it was drawn could still be seen. It was ink made from a mixture of blood, black cat hair, crow droppings, and bone ash.

Scattered around the six-pointed star were rotten, blackened offerings, among which the bones of a human infant were clearly visible, along with traces of various other items such as a complete sheep skull, monkey paws, and a cat tail.

The stone slab at the very center of the six-pointed star was shattered, the cracks filled with charred marks left by some kind of burning sulfur, and it still faintly emitted a scorching heat.

This is undoubtedly the hell passage where the demon was summoned but not completely sealed back then, and it is now barely maintained in a fragile state.

Along one wall of the stone chamber were decaying bookshelves, on which were scattered strange objects, broken scrolls, or obsidian tools of unknown purpose.

This place looks like a converted secret room, serving as a place for storing books and conducting dark rituals.

The entrance to William's secret room that Selena mentioned was behind a certain bookshelf.

Qin Jin first searched the entire secret room, confirming there was no trace of Jesus' blood, before going to the bookshelf, squatting down, reaching out, grabbing the bottom shelf, and shaking it twice.

He easily removed the movable board immediately!

Behind the board, a dark entrance, about a meter high, was revealed, from which a cold wind carrying moisture and the stench of rocks immediately rushed out.

Looking down, it appears to be a naturally formed cave passage, deep and leading nowhere.

Just as Selena said, the natural cave was used to carve out a prison cell and seal William, the werewolf progenitor who had been captured. Later, a castle was built on top of it. However, the Grand Duke did not discover this when he renovated the place and turned it into a forbidden escape route.

Without hesitation, he ducked and crawled inside, followed closely by Alessa and the two zombies.

The passage slopes downwards and is not entirely man-made; rather, it utilizes and modifies natural caves.

After descending a short distance, a small natural platform appeared ahead. And in the rock wall beside the platform, there was a large hole that had been violently broken open!

The edges are jagged, as if it had been violently broken open!

This is the place Selena mentioned, which requires vampire blood to open. Judging from the extent of the damage, the one who violently broke it open must have been incredibly powerful, something no human could have accomplished. It wouldn't have turned out this way if explosives or tools had been used!

Qin Jin immediately entered the cave. The cave was very deep. Along the way, Qin Jin encountered two iron doors that had been violently opened, just like the previous ones, both caused by tremendous force.

Finally, he and Aresa's group reached the end of the cell.

The most conspicuous thing is the "Iron Maiden" torture device in the center of the cell, which is already open!

Even more horrifying was that inside the torture device, a completely shriveled and leathery mutilated corpse was tightly bound!

The corpse's form was definitely not human:

A prominent snout, sharp fangs, and limbs with strong outlines that still show even when dry!

This is clearly the remains of a werewolf!

From the fragments of medieval clothing remaining on its body and its unique fang features, Qin Jin instantly confirmed a fact that shocked even him!

The werewolf imprisoned inside the Iron Maiden, long since dead, is none other than the legendary William Corvinus!

All expectations were completely overturned at this moment!

They thought the demon William, who was imprisoned here, was still alive, waiting to be released or needed to be destroyed, but they found that he was already a dried-up corpse!
