The Silent Witch of Hogwarts

Chapter 592 A Great Cause

Chapter 592 A Great Cause

"Draco, is this true?"

As soon as Malfoy stepped out of his office, his two henchmen, Crabbe and Goyle, surrounded him, one tall and one fat, and asked, "Are you really a prefect?"

"Of course!" Malfoy said, raising an eyebrow smugly. "Not only that, I'm also a prefect for the entire Hogwarts!"

He then looked at Crabbe and Goyle: "You two work hard, and I'll talk to Headmaster Umbridge right away and get you two made vice prefects too."

"Really?"

"Of course it's true." Malfoy smiled smugly. "As long as you do your job well!"

"I'll go track Potter right away!" Crabbe said.

"That's right." Gore nodded. "He couldn't escape our eyes!"

"Bang!"

To everyone's surprise, Malfoy slapped them on the head after hearing this: "You two idiots!"

"If we try to follow Pott, we'll definitely be exposed!" Malfoy said, shaking his head. "It's because you guys are always so stupid that you can't become prefects."

"So what do you suggest we do?" Crabbe and Goyle, despite being scolded by Malfoy, still sidled up to him and asked, "Should we just tie Potter up?"

"Are you crazy?" Malfoy glared at Goyle, who had uttered those words. "Do you think you can beat that Mudblood next to him?"

"Can he still beat Potter?"

"ah----"

Seeing the two of them becoming guilty again, Malfoy shook his head helplessly: "You two are really too stupid."

He pushed open the door to the Slytherin common room and plopped down on the sofa.

Malfoy glanced at the black lake before him and said slowly, "All you know how to do is target Pott."

"He's a hero to those downtrodden and mud-blooded people," he said, pausing for a moment. "It's very difficult to take action against him."

He said with a sarcastic smile, "But that's only true for him."

"There are more than just Dumbledore and his two henchmen among his die-hard followers," Malfoy said, lowering his voice. "Remember that Ravenclaw girl?"

"Ravenclaw?" Crabbe and Goyle exchanged a glance. "That Asian guy?"

"No, it's not her." Malfoy rolled his eyes. "She's Cedric's girlfriend."

"Don't mess with him unless it's absolutely necessary, understand?"

"I'm talking about the other one—the one who's a bit crazy!"

"You mean—Lofgood?"

"That's right." Malfoy seemed to only then remember her name, and he nodded, saying, "It's her!"

"She's one of Pott's friends—and a year below us," Malfoy said, pausing. "Her spells can't possibly be stronger than ours."

"And she's always alone," Malfoy sneered. "That's Pott's weakness!"

Under the adoring gazes of Crabbe and Goyle, Malfoy himself began to feel pleased with his plan. He clapped his hands and slowly rose to his feet: "Once we catch her, we'll naturally know what Poot and the others are up to!"

"Once we know what Potter is doing, we'll immediately report it to Headmaster Umbridge," Malfoy said, raising an eyebrow.

Crabbe and Goyle immediately chimed in: "Then we can take down Dumbledore's men in one fell swoop, not just Potts, but even Hamilton—"

"Hey!" Malfoy kicked the sofa as soon as he heard Hamilton's name. "Are you guys crazy?" He quickly lowered his voice and said, "This is the lounge—don't you know this is—"

"Draco, what are you guys talking about?"

"Ah! It's nothing—it's nothing." Hearing that familiar voice, Malfoy quickly put on a smile and looked at the girl who came out of the dormitory.

"Hello, Miss Parkinson." Crabbe and Gore quickly raised their hands to greet her when they saw her appear.

"We're discussing something good." As Pansy approached, Malfoy raised an eyebrow and pointed to the prefect's badge on his chest, saying, "I've become a prefect."

"Did Umbridge make you a prefect?" Pansy asked, showing absolutely no respect for Umbridge, but out of consideration for Malfoy, she carefully replied, "That's a really good thing."

"So we were just planning to get something nice to eat," Malfoy said, looking at Crabbe and Goyle. "Alright, you two go ahead."

"I have something to discuss with Pansy."

Watching the two leave in a daze, Malfoy walked up to Pansy with a smile and gently took her hand: "It won't be long before Poot and the others are kicked out of Hogwarts."

Hearing his words, Pansy sighed and shook her head: "You were actually planning these things?"

"Is this why Umbridge made you a prefect?"

"Don't say that, Pansy." As if sensing her displeasure, Malfoy frowned and said, "You should call her Headmistress Umbridge."

"Hmph." Pansy curled her lip. "Your Principal Umbridge was the one who tried to kick Professor Hamilton out before."

"Ah—I know you like Professor Hamilton," Malfoy said, pulling a book from his pocket. "This is one my father specially bought for me."

"A signed copy of Professor Hamilton's latest book on magic circles."

The autographed book that would normally make Pansy happy for a long time did not make her happy this time; it only made her sigh slightly.

"Draco—don't do anything dangerous," she whispered. "I know you don't get along with Potter—and you don't like the people around him."

"But we're all just students, aren't we?" she said, pursing her lips. "My brother told me that students should do what students are supposed to do."

"We shouldn't get involved in these things."

Pansy's words made Malfoy shake his head slightly: "That's not how it is—don't think of me as so naive—and your brother—"

"Don't speak ill of my brother." Pansy's face immediately fell upon hearing this. "No matter what, he's a good person—and he's never said a bad word about you."

"I know, I know," Malfoy said, waving his hand. "I understand what you mean—I'm not saying anything bad about him."

"I just want to tell you—I'm not playing childish games." He said, becoming serious. "I'm fighting for the great cause of our pure-blood family."

"————" Pansy didn't speak when she heard this. She just pursed her lips and shook her head again.

"Whatever your reason—take care of yourself." As she said this, she gently reached out and released Malfoy's hand.

"And—don't be so hostile towards them."

"They are actually good people."

Malfoy pursed his lips upon hearing this, and then said, "You just don't understand how great the things I'm doing are."

With that, he quickly left.

Watching his retreating figure, Pansy lowered her eyes slightly and glanced at the book in her hands.
