The Silent Witch of Hogwarts

Chapter 593 The Stalker

Chapter 593 The Stalker

Sunlight streamed into the Hogwarts corridors. As a Charms class ended, Harry, Hermione, and Ron emerged from the classroom. They first looked around cautiously, and only nodded slightly after confirming that no one was following them.

"That's strange today—Malfoy isn't here—" Ron muttered.

Hermione nodded, puzzled. "Not only that—his two henchmen aren't here either."

Almost everyone knew that Malfoy had become the prefect of the entire house—which practically meant that he had become Umbridge's lackey.

Although he was also before—

To Harry and his friends' surprise, after becoming Umbridge's lackeys, Malfoy and his companions actually became much more restrained, or rather, more cautious.

At least for the past few days, Harry hasn't detected that they're following him—which is very unusual.

Before, they were like little shadows, sticking to him like glue.

"Not only that, they didn't come to class today either." Hermione paused, then added, "What are they doing?"

Seeing the confusion on Hermione and Harry's faces, Ron smiled and raised an eyebrow: "Maybe they finally realized that following us wouldn't lead them to that place, so they gave up!"

"I don't think it's that simple." Harry shook his head. "Does Malfoy seem like the kind of person who would give up because of his own incompetence?"

Although that's a bit harsh, it actually seems to be true—

"Harry, Ronald, Hermione—what are you doing here?"

Just as the three were chatting casually, a voice like a wind chime rang out, and a girl wearing sunglasses and holding a strange flashlight walked over.

As she spoke, she lifted her sunglasses, revealing a slightly curious look in her eyes.

"Ah—Luna." Seeing Luna always surprised Harry, whether it was the timing of her appearance or her attire.

"We were talking about the Malfoys," Hermione said in a low voice. "They've been acting a bit strange lately."

"Is that so?" Luna nodded thoughtfully, then lowered her sunglasses. "The harassing flies on them have definitely increased lately—"

Luna's answer didn't surprise Harry. Although he didn't know what a harassing fly was, he nodded nonetheless: "That certainly doesn't seem like a good thing."

"It's hard to say," Luna smiled, tilting her head. "Because good intentions can sometimes lead to bad results, while bad intentions can sometimes lead to good results."

With that, she skipped away.

The three of them exchanged a glance as they watched Luna's retreating figure.

"When will we be as optimistic as her?" Ron shrugged.

"I probably won't be able to do it in my entire life."

"But why didn't she go to the maze?" Hermione muttered, watching Luna's retreating figure with a hint of curiosity. "Isn't she usually the first one there?"

"Maybe she's looking for a harassing horsefly? Or maybe she's lost something again?"

Harry shook his head as he spoke, and then the three of them walked away.

A while after Harry and his two companions left, three heads peeked out from around the corner of the corridor.

"She went that way?" Malfoy asked in a low voice.

"Here! I see it," Gore said, pointing in a direction.

"Why do I feel like it's this way?" Crabbe pointed in another direction.

"Idiots!" Malfoy couldn't help but curse at the two men. "It's this way!" he said, pointing into the distance. "Didn't you see her back?"

Upon closer inspection, a silver-haired figure could indeed be seen at the end of the long corridor.

"Young Master Malfoy is truly amazing!"

Crabbe and Goyle's flattery pleased Malfoy, who nodded in satisfaction and then followed Luna.

Although Lovegood was much less vigilant than Pott, he was still not so easy to track.

The main problem is that she always goes to strange places, such as dangerous forbidden forests or maze-like school corridors.

Yesterday she went to the Whomping Willow, but for some reason the bad willow only attacked Malfoy and his two companions and ignored Lovegood.

If it weren't for her dazed look—Malfoy would have started to suspect that she had discovered something.

Following her around a corner, and watching the direction she headed, Malfoy gave a cold laugh.

This time she didn't have a chance to run away again!

Because Malfoy knew the road ahead very well—it was a dead end, and hardly anyone went there—this was a real opportunity for him!

The thought of soon finding out what Pott was up to every day made him a little excited.

"Let's catch up!" he quickly ordered his men and hurried after them.

That's right—that's right! This is the road!

Looking at the corner ahead, Malfoy slightly raised his hand and slowed down. The two men who received his command also bent down slightly and took out their wands.

Just as Malfoy predicted, he would see the girl after turning this corner—and then he waved his wand—

With that thought in mind, Malfoy carefully drew his wand.

One step—two steps—Malfoy actually felt a little nervous. Was it because it was the first time he had ever done this to a classmate?

Or is it because I am on a great path?

It must be because of the latter, right? Absolutely—

"Clatter!"

Malfoy strode around the corner but didn't wave his wand. Instead, he instinctively shouted, "Put down your wand and sit down properly. We have something to discuss—"

Before he could finish speaking, his eyes widened.

Not only him, but the other two people behind him also stared wide-eyed.

Because Lovegood was nowhere to be seen in the dead end.

She—she's gone?!

Malfoy looked around but couldn't find her anywhere.

This is clearly a dead end! Could it be some kind of magic spell?

But is there a magic spell that can make this happen?

Malfoy instinctively took a few steps forward and waved, but he didn't sense anyone's presence.

"What's going on?" he asked instinctively.

However, it's clear that expecting the two people behind him to provide an answer is rather difficult.

After racking his brains without finding a solution, Malfoy could only leave with a frown, stamping his feet as if he were very unhappy.

And what about Miss Lovegood?

She sat quietly under the brackets between the ceiling and the corridor wall, thoughtfully watching the three people walk away. Then she swung her feet slightly and pushed up her sunglasses.

"Is this...is this real?" Loila felt like the sky had fallen after hearing Luna's words!

Someone is actually following Luna! This is incredible—incredibly incredible!

Was she going to do something dangerous to Luna? After all, Luna was so cute and smart—looking at Luna in front of her, Loira even wanted to pat her hair—maybe she should just pat it—

Wait, no, no!

I'm busy with important business!

"Who...who are they?" Loila blurted out, "I'm going...I'm going to kill them!"

Luna chuckled softly upon hearing this: "Don't do that, Loila."

"It's not good to casually talk about murder."

"Ah—sorry—sorry!" Loila said, but in her heart she had already decided to rush over and kill that person the moment she heard his name!

Luna is still a minor, how could she be so mean?

But Luna seemed to realize this and blinked: "It's a secret!"

"But I can tell Loila—they definitely want to know what we're doing."

"So, the maze might not be so safe anymore."
