The Silent Witch of Hogwarts
Chapter 640 The River of Time
Chapter 640 The River of Time (Part 2)
"I'm so sorry—I'm so sorry!" Kneeling on the ground, Karkaroff pleaded uncontrollably, shouting frantically, "I shouldn't have done that—I'm so sorry for what I did!"
"I'm so sorry, please don't do this! I was wrong!"
But no matter how much Karkaroff begged, the girl in front of him remained silent, her long silver hair swaying gently in the wind, and then she raised her wand.
"No—no!" Karkaroff screamed, thinking the man before him was about to do that again—
But the girl flicked her wand slightly at the ground, and a hidden passage appeared before her.
Immediately afterwards, the girl pointed her wand at Karkaroff and flung it at him, dragging him into the underground chamber.
The underground chamber was exceptionally dark, causing Karkaroff to tremble uncontrollably. Could she be—intending to imprison him?
"Kill me here or not—" Karkaroff was pale, and he could only tremble and beg the person in front of him to spare him.
But how could that be?
He had not only tormented her so much in Durmstrang—he had also caused the death of that Müller—after all, who could have imagined that she would actually come knocking on his door—and, without a word, drag him to southern Germany—
Karkaroff was thrown into the secret room by the girl, and the things in the room were immediately knocked away and scattered everywhere, with various experimental materials and the like scattered on the ground.
But none of that seemed to matter anymore. The girl simply looked at Karkaroff quietly, then raised her wand.
"Do you know where Durmstrang's thing is?" The girl's voice was young, but incredibly cold, and the chilling aura made Karkarov tremble.
"That thing—what is that thing?" Karkarov asked, trembling as he lay on the ground, desperate for a chance to survive.
"Didn't I tell you?" The girl raised an eyebrow. "Looks like your memory isn't very good."
As she spoke, she flicked her wand.
A bone-deep pain instantly overwhelmed Karkaroff, and he let out a piercing scream before rolling around the room—his screams elicited no response from the girl.
She simply watched the man rolling on the ground in front of her, and then kept waving her wand.
It's like venting.
She only stopped moving slowly when she got tired, or when she finally remembered her time.
"Do you remember?" she asked coldly.
"Hah—Hah—" Karkaroff lay on the ground, panting heavily. He seemed unable to utter a single word after being tormented by the Cruciatus Curse, lying there like a shriveled bean.
"Tsk." The girl clicked her tongue, then slowly raised her wand again. With her movement, Karkaroff shuddered and exclaimed, "I—I remember!"
"I remember you—what did you ask!"
"What is it?" the girl asked calmly.
"It's a time converter! It's a time converter, right!" Karkaroff's lips trembled as he looked at the girl in front of him with fear in his eyes. His trembling words made the girl nod slightly.
Her pointed ears also twitched.
"So—do you know where it is in Durmstrang?" the girl said softly. "After all, besides the British Ministry of Magic, only Durmstrang and Hogwarts have a Time-Turner."
"It—it's in the attic—oh no—it's the principal's office?" Karkaroff's hesitant look made the girl shake her head.
"You should have thought of your answer before telling me," she said, flicking her wand, and Karkaroff screamed again.
The girl showed no pity for Karkaroff, who was screaming in agony.
She continued, "I lost my father—my mother—"
"We've lost Müller—"
"And now—and we've lost Lord Grindelwald again—" she said, letting out a laugh that sounded both melancholic and insane.
"What else can I lose now?" she muttered to herself, looking at Karkaroff's curled-up body, then bending down slightly to say, "So please tell me—tell me the location of that time converter."
"If we could go back in time—then everything could be changed, right?"
"Mom and Dad will survive—Müller will survive—Lord Grindelwald won't fail—isn't that—isn't that wonderful?" she said, her voice distorted, like a delusional madwoman, grabbing Karkaroff's collar and saying, "You and I are scum—parasites on society—"
"Isn't it great to have such an opportunity?"
"I—I—" Karkaroff seemed to regain his senses, and looking at the girl's hysterical state, he said, "This is impossible—going back to the past—"
"The time converter can only go back to twenty-four hours—ah!"
Before he could finish speaking, the girl's wand had already gently touched his forehead.
"Fool." The girl laughed. "Even though we're all useless—"
"But I have studied magic arrays to some extent."
"Don't question me so easily—especially in this situation," she said, winking. "Therefore—Kakarov."
"Tell me where that thing is!"
"If your information is true—I won't kill you."
Hearing the girl's words, Karkaroff coughed and trembled, his eyes darting around as he said, "In Durmstrang's principal's office—right there."
"I have seen it before."
"Is that so—" The girl nodded knowingly. "Then why did you only think of it now?"
"Ah—I—ah!" Before he could finish speaking, Karkaroff was struck by the Cruciatus Curse again.
Seeing Karkaroff screaming in pain, the girl asked, "So, is he really in the principal's office?"
"In—all—ah!"
"Really?"
"Really—really—ah!"
The girl kept asking, "Really?" No matter how Karkaroff answered, she would wave her wand, and after each wave, she would ask again.
Everything seemed like some kind of game, a game in which the girl tormented Karkaroff, until Karkaroff fell completely silent, at which point the girl seemed to slowly stop.
"It's a bit... boring." The girl muttered as she bent down and poked Karkarov's head.
"So you can't even withstand torture?" she said, her blue eyes slightly raised, stopping precisely in the direction where Shilo had been standing.
Those eyes were ones that Shiloh had never seen in her before—eyes so cold and crazed—that she began to doubt—was this really her?
It's that one—timid and shy—that one—innocent—
Is it the familiar Roy Hamilton?
