The Silent Witch of Hogwarts

Chapter 639 The River of Time

Chapter 639 The River of Time (Part 1)

Hilo Rozier, a member of the French Rozier family, is known to many people across continental Europe for her unique personality and style.

Even so, the young nurse did not know why she had come here.

This is a witch hospital in Germany, and it's almost Christmas—well, it's not really the time to come here, is it?

"Hello, I'm looking for Karkaroff." The black-haired woman stood quietly at the front desk, her purple eyes seemingly deep in thought.

"Kakarov?" The nurse paused for a moment, then said, "Is that Mr. Igor Karkarov, the former principal of Durmstrang Academy?"

"It's him." Shiloh nodded succinctly.

"But he—" the nurse paused and said, "He has some mental issues—I don't recommend—"

"I just came to take a look." Shiloh's somewhat indifferent eyes looked at the nurse, causing her to tremble slightly.

She pursed her lips and said, "I understand."

"He's in room eighteen." The nurse got up to lead Shiloh there, but Shiloh shook her head and said:

"No need."

"I can go by myself." With that, she strode quickly toward room number eighteen.

Watching her retreating figure, the nurse couldn't understand why she had come to see Kakarov.

Are they friends?

Hilo is certainly not friends with Karkaroff, but her arrival here is indeed related to a friend—namely, Loila.

She had learned a bit about what was happening at Hogwarts recently; it seemed that Loila and the others were busy dealing with the Ministry of Magic—in fact, she had considered whether she should go and help.

But—she thought about it carefully, and realized that if anything unexpected happened, Aunt Vida and the Malay Party would help—

—And there's Dumbledore too.

Although the British Ministry of Magic is hunting Dumbledore all over Europe, Heero doesn't think he's hiding.

"That despicable guy is definitely plotting something"—shaking his head, Hilo returned his attention to the matter at hand.

She had been investigating Loila for many years, but there had been no breakthroughs regarding the seaside cave—in the end, Shiloh chose a different approach, deciding to start with the people from that time.

She heard that Karkaroff and Loila's first meeting was very strange—the Durmstrang principal was so frightened by Loila that he developed mental problems.

Why would he be afraid of Royla?

Previously, Hilo had gone to Durmstrang, reviewed all of Durmstrang's records, and even "kindly" talked with many of Loira's classmates at the time.

The final conclusion was the opposite of the facts—it should have been Loila who was afraid of Karkaroff.

So—what happened?

But logically, they hadn't seen each other since Müller Ansbach's death.

Looking at the door to the room, Hilo raised an eyebrow, feeling that the core of all the problems must lie behind this door.

She gently pushed open the door and went inside.

What came into view was a transparent glass room, which enclosed Karkarov like a fish tank, and Karkarov sat inside motionless, looking completely lost.

"Clatter".

Hilo closed the door and flicked her wand; she didn't want anyone coming in to disturb her.

As the room quieted down, she slowly walked to the glass room.

"Kakalov." She called out Karkarov's name, but Karkarov did not respond.

Yes, after all, he's already gone mad.

After thinking for a moment, Shiloh coughed and said, "Loila Hamilton."

"————"

Karkaroff reacted immediately, turning his head to look at Shilo, but after not seeing the silver hair, he trembled slightly before returning to his previous state.

Next, Shiloh tried a series of names, including Dumbledore, Lord Grindelwald, and Voldemort, but Karkaroff didn't react at all.

It seems like it only reacts to the name Royla.

This already speaks volumes — Hilo nodded slightly at the silent Karkaroff, then took out two headband-like objects from his pocket.

She had long known that Karkaroff was a silent madman, and the only way to get information from such a person was through the headband.

The memory headband can share the memories of the person in front of you—and all you need to do is put it on Karkaroff.

Fortunately, although he was a madman, he was the kind of madman who was calm—well, that sounds a bit contradictory.

In any case, it didn't take much effort for Hilo to put the headband on his head.

Immediately afterwards, Shiloh walked out of the glass room and slowly sat down in a chair, with only one headband remaining—naturally, Shiloh herself would put on this headband.

Hopefully, the headband will reveal something of value.

Shaking her head, Shiloh slowly put on the headband.

Silver mist emerged from the headband, immediately filling Hilo's vision—and then, from within the mist, Karkaroff's figure slowly stepped out.

"Headmaster Karkaroff—regarding the Goblet of Fire—" A wizard who looked like an official from the Ministry of Magic stood beside Karkaroff: "Are you going to speak with Headmaster Dumbledore?"

"Of course," Karkaroff said, scoffing. "An old fox like Dumbledore—wouldn't sending those professors just result in them being played?"

"What Principal Karkarov said is—"

The scene lasted only a few seconds before it suddenly collapsed, and then the silver mist dissipated, revealing a new scene.

It seems that due to Karkaroff's mental state, his memory is not stable and therefore can only last for a short time.

But this is actually quite good—it makes it easier for Shiloh to search for memories related to Loila.

"What are we doing today?" In Durmstrang's corridor, several students stood together, among them Karkaroff was a clear figure.

"Of course, we're going to cause trouble for that freak." Karkaroff looked pleased, a smile spreading across his face. "I checked today, that damned Müller isn't here."

"He's busy with competitions and stuff."

"Let's go find that weirdo and show her that this competition isn't for just anyone!"

This must have been a long time ago, during Karkaroff's school days—after hearing the word "freak," Shiloh decided that she would have some fun with Karkaroff after taking off her headband.

Just as Hilo was thinking this, the silver mist enveloped and faded away again, revealing a rather strange scene.

It was a rather vast plain, and in the center of the plain were two figures.

One is the owner of the memory, Karkarov, who is kneeling on the ground, his clothes tattered.

Standing in front of him was a figure with silver hair whose face was not clearly visible.
