The academy's airship didn't look very big; it was a few hundred meters long and only two or three stories high.

At the very front of the airship rested the head of a frost dragon. The ship's hull was sleek, and the magical metal on its surface gleamed with a cold light.

Upon entering the airship, one discovers a hidden world inside, spacious enough to accommodate a thousand people, with a huge staircase extending from one side of the hall to the second floor.

There were already dozens of people inside the hall. Besides those wearing wizard robes, there were several figures dressed in leather or plate armor, who were probably from the Abandoned Lands.

Their journey here was far from peaceful. Not only were there monsters along the way, but some perverted wizards would even hold games of blood and gore, forcing them to kill each other in order to survive.

The apprentices stood throughout the hall, already subtly forming their own small groups. As yet another person entered, countless eyes focused on Hughes, some filled with curiosity, others with disdain.

Being stared at by so many eyes didn't affect Hughes. He glanced at them indifferently and then chose a secluded spot to sit down.

Not long after, a figure came to Hughes. It was Valerie Britt from the Britt family in the Midtown area.

She was fairly familiar with Hughes, as they were classmates. The girl had short, neat hair and clear, sharp purple eyes.

"Long time no see, Hughes."

"Long time no see," Hughes replied.

After a brief moment of reminiscing, Valerie realized she didn't seem to have much to say to the boy in front of her, so she got straight to the point.

"Rice is planning to form a team so we can help each other out. Would you like to join? His family has a certified wizard from Everfrost Spire, and he has promised to give us the opportunity to purchase resources for our own advancement to certified wizardship from that wizard."

When the mention of a formal wizard was made, a look of longing appeared on the girl's face.

"I'm sorry, I have no plans to join at the moment. I plan to go and stay with my sister," Hughes said slowly, pretending to think.

"Okay, good luck."

Valerie wasn't too surprised to be rejected. She then turned and walked towards her team. Hughes had no intention of forming an alliance with anyone; after all, joining such a small group meant facing many constraints, and he didn't know what those people were like.

Moreover, the wizarding world is not very united. You should know that even in the higher wizarding academies, the resources for becoming a formal wizard are very scarce.

He didn't believe that the official wizard had that many resources to advance to the official wizard level in private.

After some time, a person who surprised Hughes boarded the ship. It was Tyr's younger brother, Mor. Tyr's affinity for fire element and his half-elf identity meant he was probably going to the Academy of Nature Speakers.

Nearly 90% of the wizards and wizard apprentices at the Natural Speakers Academy are wizards who specialize in natural elements, and they only recruit elves or half-elves. He had assumed that both brothers would go there.

"We meet again, Hughes."

Hughes nodded in acknowledgment without asking further questions. Moore went aside to chat with other acquaintances. Valerie noticed Moore and slowly approached him, seemingly also intending to recruit him. Hughes paid no further attention.

Time passed slowly, and a figure arrived at the steps on the second floor.

He slowly walked down the stairs, paused for a moment while holding onto the carved wooden railing beside the steps, raised his hand slightly, made a few hand gestures, and blue magical particles danced around his hand as the door on the first floor slowly closed.

The entire airship swayed slightly, then suddenly emitted a long, drawn-out sound, and a huge magic stone block somewhere on the airship slowly lit up.

As magic was injected, the complex spatial rune arrays on the surface of the airship slowly lit up, with the rune arrays at the bottom lighting up first.

The airship gradually rose higher, its entire body enveloped in pale runes, and a spatial barrier appeared on its surface, elliptical in shape, firmly enveloping the airship.

The frost dragon at the bow of the airship slowly opened its eyes. With a roar, the airship flew away quickly into the distance, soon becoming just a black dot in the sky in the eyes of the people in the port.

The airship flew slowly through the air. Inside, everyone was captivated by the power displayed by the airship. The wizard Logos had already arrived at the middle of the stairs.

He had the face of a middle-aged man, with long white hair casually combed back and indifferent, icy blue eyes.

That wasn't indifference, but a disregard for life. He was wrapped in a wizard's robe woven from the fur of magical beasts, with a belt inlaid with white gems tied around his waist.

He glanced at the crowd, his gaze lingering slightly on the only apprentice with a fifth-grade aptitude, a slender and well-proportioned young girl.

Her long, silvery-white hair, smooth as silk, cascaded down her shoulders, with soft strands gently resting on her brow bone.

She stood alone in the corner, her crimson pupils silently watching the formal wizard.

She is Elena Mosold of the Mosold family in Upper Corera, and the elder sister of Rhys Mosold.

Seeing his elder sister being noticed by a formal wizard from afar, Rice's brows furrowed slightly as he tried to appear calm, but he quickly relaxed, revealing his usual approachable expression.

Gross withdrew his gaze, his lips twitched slightly, and he muttered a few words to himself. A clear voice then rang in everyone's ears.

"Well then, welcome to Everfrost Spire. I am Logs Meier, a first-level wizard."

"We will stay on the airship for several dozen days, during which time wizard apprentices from other towns will also board the ship."

"As for the next few days, I will first teach you the basics of entering the wizarding world, which is the wizarding language that allows you to manipulate magic and communicate with the rules—Aeso."

After saying that, he slowly went upstairs.

Next, several alchemical dolls led the group on a tour of the airship and arranged their rooms.

Hughes walked down the corridor with his room key in hand, searching for his room. He soon found it at the end of the corridor and used the runes on his room key to sense the doorknob.

Upon entering the room, Hughes found it clean and tidy, with all the necessary furniture. Next door was a separate bathroom and toilet. Though small, it had everything one needed.

The next few days were spent learning Esso from a qualified wizard. Esso is the language of spells and runes used by wizards, and it is very obscure and difficult to understand, so it must be taught by a professional wizard.

It took Hughes several days to barely understand some words and grammar, and Logis only taught them the most basic things so that they could use meditation.

The more advanced stuff will be learned later. When he arrived at the restaurant, he grabbed a little food and ate quickly. When Moore saw him, he sat down next to him.

"How's it going, Hughes? This stuff is really hard to learn. But Logus hasn't shown up except when he's teaching us. Anyone who dares to ask a question is just blocked out by the alchemical doll."

After chatting with Moore for a while, Hughes returned to his room to continue studying. He took out his notes from his storage bag, and suddenly, Hughes noticed something.

In a corner of the storage space inside the storage bag, a string of tiny runes flickered slightly. Hughes observed it for a moment, and based on his knowledge from the past few days, he recited a nonsensical sentence while referring to the runes.
