Wizard: Starts with Advanced Meditation

Looking at Hughes in front of him, his perfectly handsome face stung his eyes, and anger surged into his heart instantly.

"It's all your fault..." He clenched his fist, his voice hoarse like crumpled sandpaper.

"That's why I've become like this!" The green flames in Reber's eyes suddenly flickered, and a bone whip gleaming with a sinister green light appeared in his hand. The whip was surrounded by wisps of death energy and lashed out fiercely at Hughes with a sharp sound as it cut through the air.

"Whoosh—Swoosh!"

The bone whip lashed fiercely at the dark round shield. A piercing cracking sound rang out, and the edge of the shield instantly shattered, with more than half of it being forcibly sheared off. The remaining shield surface rippled, as if it would completely collapse at any moment.

Reber swung his bone whip wildly, green flames surging in his eyes. The bone whip in his hand was like a venomous snake that had come to life, lashing at Hughes with a shrill whistling sound as it tore through the air.

The whip's shadows were as dense as a net, each strike carrying a green deathly aura, as if to tear the person in front of them and everything around them to shreds.

Hughes scattered the tattered dark round shield and held it tightly to his chest, throat, and other vital areas. The shield struck the bone whip with a dull thud, each blow slicing off large swathes of dark element.

"Whoosh—Swoosh!"

"I could have earned enough merit at Outpost Seven to obtain all the resources needed to advance to a full-fledged wizard!" Reber's bone whip grew increasingly violent, each strike seemingly an outpouring of pent-up rage.

"It's all because of you!" He suddenly increased the force, and the bone whip swept towards Hughes with a shrill sound that tore through the air.

"If I hadn't been dragged into this mess with you and that Thorne, I wouldn't be in this inhuman state!"

"Whoosh—Bang!"

The blow landed squarely on Hughes. Despite his desperate attempt to deflect it, he had already endured too many attacks beforehand, not to mention this was Reber's full-force strike.

The powerful force exploded on the field, causing the field to crumble inch by inch and eventually disintegrate completely. The bone whip also struck Hughes. Fortunately, the short-range protective membrane absorbed some of the force, but it still caused a deep wound on Hughes' waist.

That ferocious attack had almost drained Reber of his strength. He paused, but the green flames in his eyes did not dim; instead, they became even more ferocious.

He suddenly raised his hand, and several eerie green orbs of ghost fire condensed in his palm. The ghost fire, carrying a dense aura of death, blasted towards Hughes.

Before he could even check his wounds, Hughes cast the deflection field again, and at the same time, several frost bullets shot straight at the Netherfire Ball.

"Ping—Bang!"

Several frost bullets collided with the hellfire orbs, shattering them instantly, while the hellfire orbs exploded on the spot, sending up plumes of smoke. The remaining hellfire orbs were deflected and shot in other directions.

Then several more ice spikes spun towards him. Clearly, the desperate battle had unleashed Hughes's potential. He suddenly increased the speed at which he drew the sorcery runes, and the ice spikes headed straight for Reber's head.

Reber chuckled, and a bone shield appeared before him.

"Bang—bang—bang"

The ice spikes and the remaining frost projectiles struck the bone shield. The ice spikes shattered, while the frost projectiles that followed released a large amount of cold air onto the shield's surface, condensing into a large ice shell on the rough bone surface.

Hughes's eyes suddenly narrowed, and the ice shell that covered the bone shield suddenly exploded. Ice shards flew everywhere, the bone shield shattered, and countless bone fragments mixed with ice shards scattered in all directions. Immediately afterwards, a dark ray shot out.

Reber was taken aback, clearly not expecting the bone shield to shatter so easily.

The blinding light of the light bomb flickered a few times in the putrid fumes, but was eventually swallowed up by them.

After dealing with the light bullets, Reber immediately conjured a floating bone shield beside him to block the whistling spinning ice spikes. Then he pointed lightly in the direction of Heleto, and several Netherfire balls shot towards Heleto.

Heleto was not as agile as Hughes and could only hastily erect a light shield for a meager defense. The explosion of the Netherfire sphere was not particularly violent, but the corrosive aura within it possessed a strange penetrating power.

Wisps of putrid odor seeped through the light barrier, silently creeping over Heleto's body. Wherever it passed, the edges of his witchcraft robes turned black, and his skin felt a sharp, needle-like pain.

Heleto quickly retracted his light shield, dodged to the side, and instead released a light shield to block the attack of the Netherfire Ball.

Fortunately, the corrosive gas could not penetrate the solidified light shield, and Heleto gradually gained the upper hand, manipulating the light shield to defend while shooting light arrows at Reber.

Reber remained calm, simultaneously conjuring a bone shield to block Hughes's ice spikes and Heleto's light arrows while unleashing Death Wind Bone Arrows at the two.

Reber was, after all, a veteran third-class wizard apprentice, far stronger than Moken had been. Even with Heleto's assistance, Hughes still found it very difficult to deal with him.

Continuing like this will simply be a contest of who runs out of magic first, but neither Hughes nor Heleto had fully recovered their magic power yet, so continuing like this would surely lead to their deaths.

Taking advantage of the break, Hughes finally took out his short staff. The gem at the top of the staff suddenly lit up, and as he drew the sorcery runes, the ice spikes that formed were noticeably sharper than before.

The bone whip lashed out at Heleto with a sharp crack, exploding violently on his body. Heleto's light shield and light membrane shattered instantly, and his body was sent flying by the powerful impact, collapsing helplessly to the ground.
