Hogwarts: Nagini captured at the start

Chapter 10: Disliked by the Magic Wands

Chapter 10: Disliked by the Magic Wands

"Alright, you're better suited to a wand between ten and thirteen inches!"

Ollivander put away the measuring tape, turned and walked into the bar. Sometimes he stood on tiptoe to reach up, sometimes he bent down to caress the box, and sometimes he squatted down to pull out the box at the bottom.

"Try this one first, a mahogany wand, ten inches (25.4cm) long, flexible, not easily broken, and with great explosive power, perfect for Transfiguration!"

Robin took the wand and waved it at the glass on the bar.

Boom!

The glass sprouted four claws and a rat's tail, and hopped forward with a thud. Ollivander caught it just before it fell off the table and waved his wand to restore it to its original shape.

"Obviously, that's not for you. Try this one instead. It's twelve inches (30.48cm) long, made of yew wood, and the core is a unicorn tail feather. It has a strong affinity and is perfect for healing magic!"

As soon as Robin took it, the wand vibrated like an electric toothbrush, with sparks the size of billiard balls crackling at the tip.

Ollivander quickly snatched back his wand!

"Try this one, it's eleven inches (27.94cm) long, made of oak, and the core is dragon marrow!"

Robin raised his wand and flicked his wrist slightly!

boom!

A bright yellow fire dragon spewed from the tip of the wand, surging upwards, burning the ceiling and spreading downwards. Only the combined efforts of Ollivander and Ms. Molly prevented a fire from breaking out.

Luo Bin rubbed his hands, looking rather embarrassed, and said, "Sorry, I didn't expect that."

Ollivander put away his oak wand, seemingly unconcerned about the "trouble" Robin had caused. As he stroked the new box, he said, "The Ollivander family has been crafting fine wands since 382 BC. We've encountered far more demanding customers than outsiders imagine. Here, try this one, thirteen inches (33.02) long, made of elm, with the core of the sea monster Kroni's spinal cord!"

Robin didn't want to cause any more trouble, so he carefully took the wand and tentatively pointed it into the air!

Wow!

This time, no vessel grew claws or tails, and there were no surging flames; all that remained was the salty, fishy seawater mixed with seafood!

"Mom, I think we can have an extra meal today!"

Ron stared at the sea fish that bounced around a few times and then rolled its eyes back, and said with a mixture of surprise and craving.

"Ron, that's the point. The point is that if Robin can't find a wand that suits him, he'll just sit there doing nothing in class. Mr. Ollivander, please keep looking; there must be a wand that suits Robin!"

"Madam, please rest assured!"

After that, Robin tried more than a dozen wands, but the results were far from satisfactory!

"Mr. Lestrange, in my view, wands are not inanimate objects, but have souls and thoughts. It is not the guests who choose them, but the wands that choose their masters. Do you understand what I mean?"

Robin: ...

So, you mean I'm being rejected by all the magic wands?

Hey, I'm not going to give up today, I'm going to get my hands on a magic wand no matter what.

"Mr. Ollivander, may I look for it myself behind the bar?"

"Okay, no problem!" Ollivander said, stepping out from behind the bar!

Robin walked into the bar, raised his hand to touch the side of the box, and carefully felt the reaction given by the wand inside.

The first one vibrated with a buzzing sound, its rejection obvious; the second one was powerful, banging against the box so hard it almost knocked it off the shelf; the third one…

An hour later, the outside of the box on the shelf was polished to a shine from his rubbing, but still no wand was willing to accept him.

Uh, rejected by all wands?

This unscientific!

No, this is a magical world; science doesn't work here!

Luo Bin, exhausted and dejected, leaned against the bar counter. Suddenly, the wooden block under the bar counter leg caught his attention.

The wooden block is long and narrow, with a groove at one-third of its length, and it looks like a box, an unpainted box!

"Mr. Ollivander, is there a wand in the box on the bar counter?"

"There is one, but..."

As soon as Luo Bin heard the affirmative answer, he bent down and used his shoulder strength to lift one corner of the bar by one centimeter. With a whoosh, he pulled out the box and smoothly put a solid wood block back into its original position.

Ollivander: Listening to only half of what you're told is not a good habit!

"Mr. Lestrange, I must remind you, the wand in the box you hold is a..."

"Hollow?"

Robin opened the box, holding the twelve-inch-long wand in astonishment.

"Yes, that's right, it doesn't have a core! About two hundred years ago, South Yorkshire suffered a severe drought, exposing the riverbed. In order to obtain water, the locals dug deep into the riverbed, but instead of finding water, they unearthed an ebony that had been dormant for millions of years!"

"ebony?"

ebony?

The ebony that's known as the plant mummy?

The ebony that was buried in the silt and under the influence of oxygen deficiency, high pressure, and bacteria, underwent a carbonization process over tens of millions of years to form.

Robin ran his fingertips along the smooth, shiny, and warm ebony wand. He had a gut feeling that this wand was his, and no one could take it away from him.

"That's it!"

Ollivander frowned deeply and replied with great difficulty, "Two hundred years ago, my grandfather spent a fortune to buy a piece of ebony with the best carbonization and the highest flexibility, and then spent three months polishing it into a magic wand, but..."

"But after inserting the wand core, it couldn't help the wizard cast spells. My grandfather tried replacing it with other wand cores, but it turned out that it was only suitable as an ornament to be displayed in a shop window!"

Can a wand that cannot assist a wizard in casting spells still be called a wand?

Luo Bin had finally found someone he liked, and he wasn't about to give up!

Suddenly, a quote from the Kodak Fairy gave him an idea!

The appearance of Lestrange family heirlooms can change according to the wishes of the head of the family/heir!

So, is it possible to turn the Tree of Life and the Immortal Vines into the core of the staff?

"Mr. Ollivander, coincidentally, the Lestrange family has an heirloom staff core, and I'd like to give it a try!"

"Can!"

Robin reached into his sleeve, silently chanting "Release bit by bit," and after touching the twigs and vines, he imagined them turning into a wisp of green fluid.

Once the substance in his palm had transformed into a thread-like, viscous fluid, Robin removed it, placed it inside the ebony wand, and sealed the bottom.

The moment Robin grasped the wand, he clearly felt that it was releasing a message of friendliness, affinity, and obedience. This was probably what Ollivander meant when he said: it is not the guest who chooses the wand, but the wand that chooses the master!

"It's definitely it, I want to test its power!"

Robin gripped his wand tightly and tapped it lightly against the bar!

A very faint green light shot out from the tip of the wand, so faint that it was almost invisible unless you stared intently. The green light landed on the bar and then disappeared.
