Become a Homelander and a Marvel superstar

Chapter 132 As long as he's there

The camera immediately zoomed in.

Under high-definition lenses, the contents of the archives are shocking.

The files contain detailed records of each captured boy's abilities, weaknesses, and experimental data.

Whoosh—!

This is really outrageous.

The reporters who were just moments ago silently wiping away tears for the children have now turned into angry bulls.

"Nick Fury?!"

"Former director of S.H.I.E.L.D.?!"

"This is a S.H.I.E.L.D. plan?! They sold these children to Hydra?!"

"No, he was originally the director of Hydra!"

A slightly older child, about sixteen or seventeen years old, was sitting on a stretcher when he heard the name and his body trembled violently.

The reporter quickly rushed over.

"Kid, do you know this name? Nick Fury?"

The boy looked up, his eyes vacant.

"Yes……"

"About six months ago, that black man with the eye patch found me."

"He said I have talent and that I could become a hero like Captain America."

"He said S.H.I.E.L.D. would train me and protect me..."

The entire audience erupted in uproar.

"Damn Fury!!"

"A demon! He's a demon!!"

……

Tony Stark listened to the reporters in the distance asking questions about Azu's almost fanatical worship, and pursed his lips impatiently.

"Okay, that's all for us."

"Jarvis, activate the automatic recycling program and have the Iron Legion transport this pile of scrap metal back. Don't let the local scrap collectors pick it up; there are a few Stark Industries patented chips inside."

"We have to go." Natasha Romanov helped the weak Bruce Banner over.

"Those reporters are looking at us like they want to tear us apart," Natasha said in a low voice, her eyes scanning the crowd in the distance warily. "Especially after they found out about S.H.I.E.L.D.'s damn 'human experimentation list.' If we show up now, Tony, your PR team will probably all jump off a building."

"He's already jumping around." Tony glanced at the contact list inside his visor; Pepper had already called him twelve times. "Let's go, while that 'Stars and Stripes Savior' is still posing for photos, nobody's paying attention to us."

Using the ruins as cover, the three bypassed the crowd and headed towards the hiding place where the plane was parked.

"Where's Clint?" Banner suddenly stopped, looking around in confusion. "Where did he go?"

"Relax, Banner." Natasha adjusted the blanket around Banner. "While things were in complete chaos over there, Clint said on the comms that he had gotten the stick. He should be on the plane now, waiting for us to pop the champagne."

The group quickly crossed the dusty streets, entered the woods, and boarded the tail section of the plane.

Inside the cabin, the lights were dim.

Clint Barton was sitting in the passenger seat with his back to everyone, seemingly adjusting the dial in his hand.

The silver metal box with radiation warning printed on it was placed at his feet, securely fastened by the seatbelt.

"Hey, Clint." Tony plopped down in the driver's seat and reached for the switch above his head. "Where were you? I thought you were under Loki's tickle again."

Upon hearing this, Clint Barton's fingers paused on the console for a second before he slowly turned his chair around.

"You guys talk like you've never been controlled before?" Barton sneered. "I saw it. That Hulk almost tore the whole city apart."

"Don't even mention it. If this kind of thing happens a few more times, I'll go bankrupt too."

"Bruce, are you alright?" Barton looked at Banner with concern in his eyes.

"Same as always." Banner found a corner to sit down, burying his head in his knees. "Just feeling a little nauseous."

"There are vomit bags over there, don't vomit on my floor," Tony yelled from the cockpit. "Guys, buckle up. We're leaving this mess. Next stop, Avengers Tower. I desperately need a bottle of Romanée-Conti to calm my nerves."

"Buzz—"

The plane took off vertically, and the airflow whipped up the snow and fallen leaves on the ground.

As the altitude increased, the cabin returned to quiet.

Tony activated autopilot and leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes to rest.

Banner huddled under the blanket, his breathing gradually becoming steady. Natasha sat beside him, cleaning a scrape on her arm.

No one noticed the rear cabin.

Patton was still sitting next to the silver box.

He watched the clouds recede into the distance outside the window, his fingers rhythmically tapping the surface of the box.

"Da, da, da."

He turned his head, his gaze sweeping over Tony and Banner.

A slight upturn at the corners of his mouth revealed a chilling smile.

……

……

In Sokovia, a huge "V" sign flag has been planted at the highest point of the ruins, fluttering in the wind.

Azu stood in front of a row of stretchers, where the rescued superpowered teenagers were lining up to board Vought's specially made medical transport plane.

"Look at these children," he said, gesturing to the thin figures behind him. "They've just been through hell. What they need now isn't flashing lights, but hot soup, soft beds, and a safe home."

"The results of the investigation into the incident..."

Azu paused, his expression hardening.

"We will hold a global press conference in New York at a later date. At that time, I will give the world an explanation."

"But now..."

Azu waved his hand, signaling the reporters to clear the way.

"Now, please give us some space. These children need to rest."

After saying that, he turned around gracefully, leaving the world with a majestic silhouette, and strode into the cabin.

The hatch slowly closed, shutting out the noise from the outside world.

Inside the cabin, the temperature was comfortable, and soft music played.

Pietro lay on a specially made medical stretcher, his left leg in a cast, dangling in mid-air.

"Ouch... are these painkillers expired?" Pietro grimaced, gripping the railing beside him. "Why does it still hurt so much?"

"Bear with it, Pietro."

Wanda sat beside him, holding a damp towel, and carefully wiped the dust off his face.

"Listen, Wanda."

Pietro took a deep breath, as if he had made up his mind. He grasped Wanda's hand, his eyes urgent.

"I want...I want to take you to Water."

Pietro looked at his sister nervously, afraid that she would refuse.

"I know you hate Stark, you hate those so-called superheroes. But... but it's really different there."

"Look, I'm rich now. I have a big house, and I can see the sea when I open the window. And..."

Pietro swallowed hard, struggling to find the right words to try and beautify the company that was full of freaks.

"...And the people there, although they're a bit strange, are...very genuine."

"Wanda, come with me. We can start over, we can..."

"it is good."

A soft voice interrupted his incessant sales pitch.

Pietro was stunned; all the prepared remarks he had made got stuck in his throat.

"What...what did you say?"

I said, "Okay."

Wanda raised her head, and in her beautiful eyes, there was no hesitation or resistance that Pietro had expected.

"I'll go." Wanda looked into the cabin and saw Azu comforting the child's back as she spoke softly.

"As long as he's there."

Pietro blinked and followed Wanda's gaze.

His instincts kicked in, and he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

"Um... Wanda?" Pietro asked tentatively, "You wouldn't be here because of...?"

"Why?" Wanda turned her head, her eyes clear and innocent.

"N-nothing...it's nothing." Pietro shrank back.

Wanda nodded, taking one last look at the land where she was born.

Goodbye, Sokovia.

The deafening roar of the engine drowned out everything.

Just as the plane began to climb.

In the ruins below, an unseen figure is running desperately.

"Hey!! Wait a minute!!"

"I haven't boarded the plane yet!!!"

"Stop!! I'm an idiot!!"

"You've forgotten about me!!!"

The plane's taillights flashed once, then disappeared into the clouds and vanished completely.

All that remained was the dust kicked up by the huge gust of air, which covered Shabi completely.
