Become a Homelander and a Marvel superstar
Chapter 424 Let's start a new project.
An hour later.
Hank Pym strode in, carrying two metal briefcases in his hands.
"Hope!" Pym's voice echoed in the laboratory.
"Father!" Hope went to greet him.
Without wasting any words, Pym walked straight to an empty lab table and placed the two suitcases heavily on it.
"Pat-pat, pat-pat."
The metal latch popped open, and Pym lifted the lid of the box.
In the box on the left, a brand new red and black Ant-Man suit lay quietly.
In the box on the right is a lighter, more streamlined combat suit with two thin wings mounted on the back.
Pym's gaze passed over Hope and landed on Azu, who was standing behind him.
"I take back my previous prejudice against you, Homelander." Pym's tone was rather stiff, but the gratitude in his eyes was unmistakable.
"On behalf of my daughter, and my... family, thank you."
"I'm also helping my family, Dr. Pym." Azu nodded slightly, his demeanor impeccable.
Hint! You've gained a special popularity bonus of +5000! (From Hank Pym)
Pym looked away and turned to look at Hope.
"Put it on, Hope."
Without hesitation, Hope reached into the box on the right and picked up the battle suit.
"Thank you, Father. I'll get ready to leave right away."
"It's not you who's setting off." Pym picked up the Ant-Man suit from the left box. "It's us setting off together."
"No, I'm the one going, you can't go!" Hope refused loudly. "The quantum realm is full of unknown dangers. You're too old; your body can't adapt to that environment!"
"I've adjusted the internal pressure compensation system of the suit, and..." Pym said, staring into his daughter's eyes, word by word.
"You'd risk your life to save your loved one..."
He pointed to his chest.
"Whose genes do you think you inherited this reckless and crazy drive from?"
"Back then, I watched Janet disappear before my eyes, cowardly running away for half my life." Tears welled in Pym's eyes. "Now, that door has opened again. I absolutely cannot sit in the lab like a useless piece of trash, waiting for you to tell me the results!"
Looking into his father's stubborn eyes, Hope knew he couldn't change the old man's mind.
Her eyes were slightly red, and she nodded vigorously.
"Okay! Let's go together."
As she spoke, she looked at Azu, who was standing to the side.
"Homelander, will you... come with us?"
If a god among mortals were to accompany them, this rescue operation in the quantum realm would undoubtedly have an extra layer of protection.
Azu looked at the father and daughter in front of him, and at the right moment, a look of struggle and regret appeared on his face.
"I want to go too, Hope. God is my witness, I want to go into that world more than anyone else and bring Daniel back."
He then spread his hands and said, "But I can't."
"The world can no longer do without me. The crises and turmoil it faces are increasing day by day, and countless eyes are watching it from the darkness."
"I must stay here to protect my planet and the people who believe in me..."
Ah Zu paused for a second, then said solemnly, "So, Daniel, I can only ask you for help."
Upon hearing these words, Hope's expectation turned into understanding and respect.
She knew very well that what Ah Zu said was true.
The disasters that Earth has experienced in recent years have become more and more terrifying. If it weren't for this man who has turned the tide time and time again, human civilization would have long since turned into ashes in the universe.
The Earth today is no safer than the unknown quantum realm; the world needs its people.
"I understand." Hope nodded earnestly. "You have a greater responsibility! You protect the world, and I'll bring Daniel back. We'll work together."
Fifteen minutes later.
Hope and Pym were already dressed and standing on the instrument's transmission platform, with the quantum channel mirror flashing blue light right in front of them.
"Start the self-test program." Hope pressed the control panel on his wrist.
"Life support system is normal, oxygen reserve is 100%, and Pim particle regulator is stable."
Hope pressed the control terminal on her arm again.
"Activate the quantum radar and search for the anchoring signal reserved by Daniel."
Ten seconds, twenty seconds, thirty seconds.
"Beep beep beep!"
The instrument beeped and a flashing red dot appeared on the screen.
"Found it!" Hope's voice, hidden behind his mask, was filled with ecstatic joy. "We detected a faint quantum entanglement reaction—it's him!"
However, before Hope's smile could fully spread...
"drop--"
After a long blast, the red dot on the radar suddenly disappeared.
"What's going on?!" Hope's expression changed drastically, and he frantically tapped on the control panel.
"Signal interrupted, unable to establish connection," the system message relentlessly announced.
"No...no!" Hope panicked. "Is he in danger? Has the anchoring device been damaged?"
"Calm down, Hope!" Pym shouted to stop his daughter's panic. "Space storms in the quantum realm can block signals at any time. It's not necessarily that something happened to him."
"I know, but we can't wait any longer." Hope closed her mask. "The system recorded the data packets from the last two seconds! Although incomplete, it's enough for us to locate a vague sector!"
"That's just a rough location!" Pym cautioned. "An error in the coordinates could send us thousands of kilometers off course in the quantum realm!"
"Even if it's tens of thousands of kilometers away, I will find him," Hope said firmly.
She pressed the start button for Gulliver's Tunnel.
"Buzz—Boom!"
The mirrors of the quantum channel began to distort, and the light surged.
"Whoosh!"
The two figures shrank instantly, turning into two barely visible streaks of light, and were sucked into the quantum vortex.
The laboratory returned to calm.
At this moment, the airtight door of the laboratory slid open again.
Miss Skynet walked out gracefully, holding a glass of fresh milk in her hand.
She walked over to Azu and handed her the milk.
"A perfect performance, sir," Skynet smiled. "They didn't have a single doubt."
"You cooperated very well; the signal on that stand-in robot was turned off in a timely manner."
Ah Zu took the milk cup and drank it all in one gulp.
"Have you received all the data?"
"Yes, sir," Skynet reported. "I have fully documented all the key parameters of the fusion of the Gulliver Tunnel and the Pym Particles, and the stable-state algorithm for the Pym Particles has been analyzed."
"Very good." Azu patted Skynet's shapely rear end with satisfaction. "Then let's start the new project."
"The first one is the Shenko Rod project." Azu casually gave this soon-to-be-born cutting-edge technology a name, "It needs to combine the safety of the magnifying and shrinking lamp with the stability of Pym particles to arbitrarily change the mass of any object."
"This is a priority; I might need it soon."
