Become a Homelander and a Marvel superstar

Chapter 426 You'd better put that thing down.

"Homelander?" Jia Ying sneered. "You're too naive, Skye."

"I've heard of this man from Gordon. I don't know him, but I know humanity!"

"I've lived a long life, and I've seen their ugliest side. Do you think a man with absolute power would be a saint?" Jia Ying pressed on.

"If this so-called Homelander discovers anyone who possesses power that could threaten him, he will not hesitate to kill him!"

"Shut up!" Skye roared angrily. "He's different!"

She couldn't tolerate others slandering her homelanders like that. In her heart, her homelanders were an inviolable bottom line.

"When the end of the world came, he shielded us from all destruction with his own body. He saved my life, and he saved the world!"

In a fit of emotion, a shockwave erupted from Skye's body.

The walls of the cabin shook violently, and the teacup on the table shattered. Jia Ying was pushed back a few steps by the force and crashed into the wooden wall.

Skye looked at her hands in horror and quickly withdrew her strength.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to..."

Jia Ying looked at Skye with a complex expression. There was anger, but also a hint of fear.

"You've been brainwashed, Skye." Jia Ying straightened up and straightened her clothes. "You're not allowed to go anywhere. You must stay here; it's for your own good."

"You can't trap me!" Skye protested.

The mother and daughter faced off, neither willing to back down.

"Jiaying, we're in trouble."

A blue spatial ripple flashed between the two.

Gordon, who had no eyes, appeared out of thin air in the room.

Jia Ying composed herself, regaining her leader's composure. "What's wrong?"

"An aircraft has broken through the surrounding magnetic field interference and is approaching the village," Gordon reported. "It's moving very fast and will be overhead in a few minutes."

Jia Ying frowned. "Can you confirm my identity?"

"It's a Quinjet from S.H.I.E.L.D.," Gordon replied.

Upon hearing this news, Jia Ying's eyes flickered a few times, then the anger in her eyes subsided.

She turned to Skye, her tone unusually gentle: "Now that your friends have come, I'll go see them. Perhaps we can try to coexist peacefully."

Skye was somewhat surprised by her mother's sudden change in attitude.

One second they treat each other like enemies, the next they're willing to negotiate.

However, this was also the change she hoped to see. She immediately nodded and followed Jia Ying out of the wooden house.

A Quinjet fighter jet slowly landed on the open ground at the entrance of the village.

The hatch closed.

Phil Coulson was the first to walk down the slope. He was wearing a standard suit as always, but the sleeve of his left sleeve was noticeably rolled up.

Melinda May followed Coulson on his left, her eyes scanning warily the surrounding Inhuman villagers who had gathered around.

Fitz and Simmons, carrying their gear bags, walked at the very back.

Skye strode forward.

"Coulson!" Skye shouted.

Seeing that Skye was unharmed, Coulson relaxed.

"It's great to see you're still alive, Skye." Coulson smiled and gave her a hug.

The others also happily went up and hugged Skye.

Jia Ying approached with several villagers who were considered "strange" or "unusual." She smiled and behaved with elegance, like a warm and welcoming hostess.

"Hello, I'm Jiaying." She extended her hand. "Thank you for taking care of Skye during this time."

Coulson didn't rush to reach out, but instead looked at Skye who was standing to the side.

Skye then introduced Jiaying to Coulson: "Coulson, Jiaying... is my biological mother."

A hint of surprise flashed in Coulson's eyes, and he quickly reached out to shake hands.

"Phil Coulson. It's a pleasure to meet you, ma'am."

"Coulson, this is not a place where outsiders are welcome. But since you are Skye's friends and have taken care of her over the years, I should express my gratitude."

Jia Ying turned to the side and gestured an invitation. "If you don't mind, please stay for a simple meal. I hope this will give us a chance to coexist peacefully."

Coulson hesitated for a moment. He glanced at the villagers around him, whose eyes were filled with hostility, and then looked at Skye, wanting to ask for her opinion.

Skye nodded to Coulson when she saw his target.

"Then I'll have to bother you," Coulson replied.

Coulson's team then rested in Skye's cabin.

As soon as the door closed, Melinda went to the window and opened a crack to look outside.

"The people here are hostile towards us," Mei said in a low voice.

Fitz immediately put down his backpack, took out a small device, and scanned every corner of the room. After confirming that there were no listening devices, he gave Coulson a safe signal.

Skye then noticed the abnormality in Coulson's arm and felt deeply guilty.

"Your hand..."

"I'm sorry, if it weren't for me..."

"This isn't your fault, Skye," Coulson interrupted her. "Tell me about your situation. What kind of place is this?"

Skye organized her thoughts briefly and gave them a simple introduction to the Terrigen Crystal, the origins of the Inhumans, and the situation of her biological parents.

After listening, a brief silence fell over the room.

"So, you've found your family." Coulson looked at Skye. "Are you planning to stay here?"

Skye shook her head.

"No, I want to go with you! Here..."

"Knock knock knock".

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

After the door opened, a villager stood outside and said:

"Mr. Colson, Ms. Jiaying would like to invite you to her study for a private talk."

"It's about Skye, and the issue of contact with the outside world."

"Of course," Coulson readily agreed.

Coulson stood up and buttoned his suit jacket. "This is the host's invitation. May, you two stay here with Skye."

Then, Coulson followed the villagers to Jia Ying's study.

Inside the study, Jia Ying was brewing tea, the kettle bubbling loudly.

"Please have a seat, Mr. Coulson." Jia Ying poured a cup of tea and pushed it in front of Coulson.

Coulson didn't touch his teacup. "Ms. Jiaying, we're here with no ill intentions; we just want to take Skye back."

"Mr. Coulson, you're a smart man," Jia Ying asked somewhat coldly. "Do you believe that S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Inhumans can coexist peacefully?"

"The world is changing, Ms. Jiaying. S.H.I.E.L.D. is now under Vought's jurisdiction. As long as you are willing to register and accept management, you can normally access the outside world, and no one will persecute you," Coulson explained with a gentle smile.

"Accept management?" Jia Ying sneered. "It means being tied to an operating table and being studied like a monster. I've been through it once, and I will never let my people go through it a second time."

She opened the drawer and took out a dark blue crystal.

Coulson immediately became alert. "Madam, you'd better put that thing down."

"This is a crystal we cultivated ourselves," Jia Ying said proudly, looking at the object in her hand. "It contains Terrigen components, but it has many impurities. For those with Inhuman genes, it is the key to awakening."

She lifted her eyelids and stared at Coulson.

"But for ordinary people without the Inhuman gene... it's a deadly poison."

"What are you trying to do, ma'am? I advise you not to do anything foolish," Coulson's voice turned stern.

Jia Ying ignored him and instead raised the crystal high into the air. "You will never learn to respect us; you will only bring destruction!"

After saying that, Jia Ying released her hand.

The crystal fell onto the hard tabletop.

"Snapped!"

The crystal shattered, and a thick fog rapidly spread in all directions.
