Become a Homelander and a Marvel superstar
Chapter 437 Good luck, Spider-Man
"I'm so proud of you. If Uncle Ben were here, he'd be crazy about you too."
Peter hugged Aunt May tightly, unable to hide his excitement.
Aunt Mei released him and looked him up and down, sizing up this nephew she had always treated like a child.
"However, I'm very curious." She began to imagine the future.
"What superpowers will you awaken after enrolling? Maybe you'll become invulnerable like Homelander?"
Seeing Aunt May's expectant gaze, Peter suddenly scratched the back of his head sheepishly and smiled shyly.
"Hehe... Actually, Aunt Mei, regarding this... I might not need to wait for the academy to help me awaken."
"What do you mean?" Aunt Mei raised her eyebrows in confusion.
Peter took two steps back, bent his knees slightly, and suddenly jumped up.
He slammed his hand against the ceiling with a "smack".
He hung there with one arm, grinning at Aunt Mei.
To May's astonishment, Peter defied the laws of physics, his hands and feet slapping against the wall as if walking on flat ground.
"Surprise." Peter landed lightly on his feet.
Aunt Mei's mouth dropped open: "You...how could you...?"
Peter smiled but didn't say anything, and reached out to unbutton his shirt.
The shirt was open, revealing a red and blue bodysuit underneath, with a black spider pattern printed on the chest.
Aunt May stared at the suit Peter had made himself, her eyes widening as she realized something.
Recently, an urban legend about a "masked man in pajamas" has been circulating on the streets of New York.
Someone filmed the masked man swinging between buildings with a white rope, helping an old lady find her cat one day, tying a car thief to a street lamp the next, and even preventing a gang shootout.
The video garnered a large number of views on YouTube and even caught the attention of the New York Police Department.
"It's you?" Aunt May pointed at Peter, her voice rising. "You're the masked man in pajamas who's been wandering the streets lately, fighting with those gangsters?!"
Peter smiled sheepishly and admitted, "Uh... actually, I call myself Spider-Man. And I didn't fight them; I just confiscated their guns and tied them up with my webs..."
"Are you crazy, Peter!" Aunt May grabbed his shoulder, her tone stern, but her concern was undisguised. "You're still a minor! You encountered someone with a gun, and instead of running away, you rushed at them? What if you got hurt? What if..."
"I won't get hurt, Aunt May. My reaction time is faster than a bullet," Peter quickly explained. "And I'm very strong; I can lift a truck with one hand."
"What happened? How did you become like this?" Aunt May pulled Peter to sit down on the edge of the bed and stared intently at him.
"About a month ago," Peter answered truthfully, "I was bitten by a spider during a school field trip. I felt a little dizzy at the time, and after sleeping at home, this is what happened."
Aunt Mei took a few deep breaths, trying to process this information.
My worries were gradually replaced by understanding.
She knew Peter's character very well; the boy was inherently kind and had a strong sense of justice.
More importantly, ever since Peter secretly went to see Homelander a few years ago and got his autograph, Peter's room has been covered with Homelander posters.
He collected every newspaper clipping about Walter and watched every video of the heroes' rescues.
Joining Vought and becoming a superhero to save others—that was this boy's lifelong dream.
"Peter," Aunt May reached out and stroked his hair, her eyes full of affection, "I'm so happy for you. You've gained power, and you've used it in the right way."
"I'll contact Midtown High School to process your withdrawal, my future superhero," she said, standing up.
"That's wonderful! Thank you, Aunt May, I love you forever!"
Peter jumped up with joy, did three somersaults in the air, and landed steadily.
Aunt Mei walked to the door, grasped the doorknob, and suddenly stopped.
"However, Peter."
Peter stopped what he was doing and looked at Aunt May with anticipation. "What's wrong, Aunt May?"
Looking at Peter, who was celebrating wildly, he casually tossed out a sentence.
"You are still a student at Midtown High School. Pack your bag and go to class now."
Peter's smile froze instantly.
The raised hands froze in mid-air.
Aunt May looked at Peter, who was yawning repeatedly, and shook her head helplessly.
Good luck, Spider-Man.
After saying that, Aunt Mei closed the door and left.
……
Midtown High School.
Peter Parker walked down the school corridor, carrying his schoolbag.
This was his last day at school.
Aunt Mei has already spoken to the principal; today he only needs to complete the formalities and tidy up the things in the locker.
The corridor was bustling with noise.
The students were all talking about the same thing: the Water Vanguard Hero Academy.
"I signed up, but I was eliminated in the first round! James said it was because I posted something disrespectful to Homelander on Twitter. Damn it, that was just a Homelander blowing meme I posted three years ago!" A boy angrily pounded on his locker.
"Come on, I think the real reason is that you need to look in the mirror," his companion mocked.
Peter silently walked to his locker, opened the door, and saw several science posters inside.
He packed his personal belongings into his backpack little by little.
A whiff of perfume wafted by.
Michelle Jones came to his side.
"Hey Peter. I heard you're dropping out of school?"
Peter's hand froze in mid-air. He turned his head and looked at her tanned face, his heart pounding faster involuntarily.
"Uh...yes. MJ," Peter stammered, "I'm going to school somewhere else."
"Walter Vanguard Academy, right?" Michelle leaned against the cabinet next to her.
Peter nodded.
A complex mix of emotions flashed in Michelle's eyes. There was envy, and a touch of disappointment.
"Congratulations, you idiot." She forced a smile. "You're going to be a big shot from now on. A great hero. You probably won't have time for us ordinary folks anymore."
"No! No!" Peter hurriedly waved his hands. "I will never forget you. If you... if you are in danger, I will be there for you immediately. I promise!"
Michelle looked at his anxious expression and suddenly burst out laughing.
"I was just kidding, Peter."
"Take good care of yourself when you get there. I look forward to seeing you in your uniform on TV."
After saying that, she turned and walked towards the classroom.
Peter stood there for a moment, then picked up his bag and walked out of the school gate.
He smiled slightly as he gazed at the towering Water Tower in the distance.
……
At this moment, in the office of President Zu at Water Tower.
SkyNet is reporting to Azu on the progress of his much-anticipated research.
