Chapter 493 I Want to Stay Here

Saka Star.

Thor has been here for a full month.

Recalling his experience upon landing, he still felt it was an absurd nightmare.

The sleazy old man with the machine clips forcibly shaved off his most prized long golden hair, ignoring his desperate protests.

He tried to run away, but each time he had only gone a short distance when the small disc around his neck would release a strange electric current, shocking him until he trembled all over and passed out.

This made him doubt his identity as Thor.

Ultimately, he was forced to obey the arrangements of the Grandmaster, the ruler of the planet, and became a gladiator in the arena.

With the powerful physique of the Asgardian gods, he defeated one formidable alien monster after another in the arena with his bare hands.

In four weeks, he won the weekly championship four times in a row.

He became the most dazzling new star in the arena.

Tonight, the Grandmaster has specially hosted a lavish championship banquet for him in the palace.

Inside the banquet hall.

Neon lights swayed wildly, and deafening electronic music assaulted everyone's eardrums.

Everywhere you look, there are extraterrestrial dignitaries indulging in sensual pleasures and oddly dressed scavengers.

Thor sat listlessly in the corner, holding a glass of unknown blue liquid.

Suddenly, his gaze froze.

I caught a glimpse of a very familiar figure in the crowd.

The man, dressed in a green robe and with his hair neatly combed back, was holding a wine glass and chatting happily with several alien nobles around him.

That appropriate smile, that confident and composed demeanor.

Who else could it be but Loki?!

Thor's eyes widened, a surge of resentment welling up inside him.

I'm risking my life in the arena every day, and this bastard's drinking champagne here?!

Thor put down his glass, pushed aside the aliens blocking his way, grabbed Loki's arm, and dragged him to a corner of the hall.

"What are you doing here?!" Thor asked in a low voice. "What's going on?"

Loki straightened his crumpled sleeves and said slowly and deliberately.

"Oh, Thor? What a coincidence, I thought I was seeing things."

"What a load of rubbish!" Thor glared at him. "Weren't you kidnapped by Thanos?"

"That's right." Loki shrugged. "Thanos had his men bring me here to set an ambush and lure you in."

"But they have no idea how terrible the environment is on Sakaar right now."

Loki picked up his glass, took a sip, and then said.

"We are currently experiencing a once-in-a-century spatial tide, and the flow of time is in complete chaos."

"What might be a day outside could be ten or twenty days, a month or two, or even a century or two here. Who knows?"

"After they brought me here, they didn't receive any further instructions from Thanos for many days," Loki chuckled smugly. "Then, we were attacked by a large group of scavengers. I managed to slip away while they were fighting."

"Later, I met the Celestial Master and became friends with him."

Thor looked at him in disbelief after hearing this.

"But he's a madman, Loki."

"But he likes me," Loki said confidently and proudly.

Thor took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to punch him.

"Oh, that's great. Now that you're free, let's leave this hellhole and head back to Asgard."

Loki shook his head and decisively refused.

"I'm not going back. I love it here, and I want to stay."

"What?"

"I love it here, Thor." Loki spread his arms, showing off the luxury around him. "Here, there's no Odin nagging, no one bossing me around, and I'm respected."

"Fine, since you're not leaving," Thor said, barely containing his anger. "Then go tell the Grandmaster to remove the cursed object from my neck and let me go. I'll go back myself!"

Loki smiled slightly and refused again.

"No, I can't do it."

"Why?" Thor roared. "Aren't you friends? You can't even do something this simple?!"

“If I did that, we wouldn’t be friends anymore,” Loki replied matter-of-factly. “Besides, isn’t it better for you to stay here? Look around, people are cheering for you; you’re a big star now.”

"No!" Thor grabbed Loki by the collar. "I am the God of Thunder of Asgard, not a clown for people's amusement! I need to go back to Jane. You have to help me; I came here to save you!"

Loki brushed Thor's hand away, his face full of feigned apology.

"Oh, I'm so sorry."

"The only thing I can do now is bet on you to win when you're on the court."

Loki patted Thor on the shoulder.

"Don't let me down, brother."

Just then, a flamboyant background music started playing.

The Celestial Venerable, dressed in a glittering golden robe, walked over surrounded by a group of guards.

"Hey! Look who this is! My champion!" The Grandmaster then looked at Loki. "You know him? Loki."

Loki denied it without hesitation.

"I've never seen this person in my entire life."

"He's my brother," Thor immediately retorted loudly.

"Adopted," Loki replied immediately.

The Celestial Venerable revealed an exaggerated expression of sudden realization.

"Oh! I see. So, do you miss that... um, love home?"

"Asgard!" Thor corrected him with a dark expression.

Loki quickly replied with a smile, "I'm very happy here. I've never missed that... I love home."

As they spoke, Loki and the Grandmaster exchanged a glance and burst into laughter at the same time.

Only Saul stood alone to the side, trembling with anger.

The Grandmaster, having finished laughing, turned to look at Thor, whose face was full of rage.

"Listen, Lightning Boy. I know you want your freedom."

The High Celestial Venerable raised one finger.

"The rules are simple! If you can retain your title as the champion of this arena for one consecutive year, I'll let you leave in glory and regain your freedom!"

Saul knew he had no room for negotiation, so he could only coldly reply, "I hope you keep your word."

……

Nighttime, in the gladiator champion's private room.

Thor sat shirtless on the edge of the bed.

He stretched out his arm, fingers spread, and tried again to summon the Storm Axe.

Ten minutes passed, and there was no response.

Thor sighed deeply: "Maybe I'm not suited to using weapons. Maybe I should ask Anthony to teach me that Thunder Fist thing."

Loki appeared out of nowhere in the corner of the room.

"Good evening, Thor," he greeted with a smile.

Without saying a word, Thor grabbed a metal wine glass from the table and smashed it straight at the table.

"Whoosh!"

The cup passed right through Loki's body and slammed against the wall with a loud crash.

Loki gave an awkward laugh.

"That's normal, isn't it? I'm not going to actually come in and give you a chance to beat me up."
