Chapter 496 The Most Painful Torture in the Universe

Thor's face turned ashen.

"You hopeless bastard!"

Thor flew into a rage, and furious lightning once again gathered in his fists.

With a powerful leap, he lunged towards the platform, ready to teach his arrogant younger brother a lesson.

Loki looked at Thor charging towards him and smiled disdainfully.

He calmly pressed the button on the remote control.

"Sizzle—!"

A familiar feeling washed over me again.

Thor let out a scream of rage and pain as his body slammed heavily onto the steps.

Loki tossed the remote control in his hand and said to the captain of the guard beside him.

"Now, issue an arrest warrant in my name. Capture the Grandmaster, dead or alive. Bounty... 100 million credits."

"Wow, a hundred million? You're so generous, Loki. But I think I'm worth at least a billion."

A slightly mocking voice rang out from behind the platform.

The Celestial Venerable walked out with his hands behind his back and light steps.

Loki's eyelids twitched, and he instinctively tightened his grip on the remote control.

"You didn't run away? I thought you had already hidden in some garbage dump." Loki sneered.

"Run? On my planet?" The Grandmaster spread his hands. "You're always so funny, Loki."

"But what I don't understand is that from the moment you came to me, I arranged the best suite for you, the strongest wine, and even let you watch the game in my private box."

"And this is how you repay me? By staging a pointless rebellion?"

Loki chuckled softly, glancing around at the guards who surrounded him.

"This is an irreversible management change, Grandmaster."

"You're finished..." Loki lifted his chin. "And I, I command an army."

The Celestial Venerable clutched his stomach and laughed heartily.

"Loki, you always manage to surprise me."

"However, I hate it most when people take advantage of my trust."

"Do you remember, Loki? When I first arrived, you took advantage of my trust and made me wrongly imprison two lovely friends. How rude of you!"

Lovely friend?

Loki's expression darkened, and an ominous premonition welled up in his heart.

"Loki...it's been a long time."

Loki's eyes widened as he saw two figures, one tall and one short, stride out from behind the Grandmaster.

The woman walking in front held a long spear, the tip of which emitted a ghostly blue energy light.

Beside her stood a tall, strong orc.

These were Thanos's trusted lieutenants, Proxima Midnight and Black Dwarf.

"Lord Thanos sends you his warmest greetings." Proxima Midnight stared coldly at Loki. "You are a liar who betrayed Lord Thanos's trust. Today, you will die here."

Loki knew he was no match for those two monsters.

He made a quick decision and pointed to Proxima Centauri and the black dwarf star above.

"Kill them!" Loki roared furiously at the surrounding guards. "It's your new king's order! Open fire!"

But Loki was met only with silence.

The fully armed Sakaar guards stood rooted to the spot, like statues. No one stepped forward, no one drew their swords, and no one even glanced at Loki.

"Are you deaf?!" Loki raised his voice, a hint of panic in it.

He raised the remote control in his hand, his face contorted with rage, and threatened, "If you don't obey orders, I'll subject you to the most excruciating torture in the entire universe! I promise!"

The guards remained motionless.

"Oh dear, look at this situation!" The Grandmaster clapped his hands exaggeratedly. "The hunter has become the prey. What a wonderful reversal!"

The Celestial Venerable stopped smiling and waved his hand.

"Kids, step back. Make room for our new player, Rocky."

The captain of the guard immediately stood up without the slightest hesitation.

He made a gesture, and all the guards retreated in unison, swiftly and silently, creating a huge dueling circle in the center of the arena, isolating Loki in the middle.

Loki shivered with cold.

Without further ado, he pressed the red button on the remote control, attempting to initiate the punishment once more.

A minute passed.

Nothing happened.

Suddenly, the Grandmaster pulled out another identical remote control.

"Buzz!"

Saul, a seasoned victim, suddenly felt the obedience disc on his neck light up again.

"You really think you can fool me with such a little trick?" the Grandmaster said smugly.

"That thing you bought from the black market is indeed quite good. But you seem to have forgotten that all the black markets on this planet are my property."

"I can hear everything you do."

Loki dropped the scrap metal in his hand and turned to run.

A dozen or so Loki illusions appeared on the field at the same time, running wildly in all directions.

His real body, however, attempted to rush towards the exit of the audience seating area.

"Whoosh—"

Proxima Midnight hurled its return spear, which flew like lightning, piercing through all the illusions and striking Loki's calf.

Loki screamed and fell to the ground.

Black Dwarf strode forward and lifted Loki up.

He pulled out a pair of metal shackles and locked Loki's hands with a "click".

"Listen to me, big guy!" Loki quickly changed his tune, "It's a misunderstanding! I can..."

"Shut up."

Proxima Midnight came to his side, took out a metal gag, and sealed it directly into Loki's mouth.

"Ugh—!" Loki could only let out a muffled whimper, unable to utter a single word.

"I won't give you another chance to deceive us," Proxima Midnight said coldly, patting Loki's cheek.

Then, Black Dwarf casually flicked his wrist.

Loki tumbled in the air and landed with a "thud" right next to Thor, who was still recovering from his shock.

Thor glanced at the disheveled Loki and couldn't help but chuckle.

"Tsk tsk..." He leaned close to Loki's ear and whispered, "What a perfect plan, Loki. We're the masters of this planet now, aren't we?"

Loki rolled his eyes, glared fiercely at Thor, and made a "woofing" protesting sound.

Proxima Midnight, carrying a spear, walked up to the two brothers and pressed the tip of the spear against Thor's chest.

"Son of Odin," she asked condescendingly, "Where is the Tesseract?"

Thor spread his hands and shook his head, saying, "I don't know. I was ambushed by a drunken woman as soon as I arrived on this planet. The item is definitely with her!"

Proxima Midnight's eyes were filled with suspicion, then she glanced at Loki lying on the ground.

"You Asgardians never tell the truth," she said bitterly. "Thanos has lost his patience."

Proxima Midnight moved the tip of her spear toward Loki, and blue energy hissed dangerously above Loki's neck.

"Hand over the Tesseract," Proxima Midnight threatened. "Or I'll subject your brother to the most excruciating torture in the universe right now!"
