Pirates: Martial Arts Masters on the Straw Hat Ship
Chapter 7 Scaring Usopp
Ronan watched this scene with a smirk to himself.
He knew that these two guys were indulging in a wicked mood and were deliberately trying to scare Usopp.
But instead of exposing him, he went along with it.
Ronan swung the broken stick in his hand, creating several sharp flourishes, the wind whistling through the air.
He looked at Usopp with the same serious expression, his aura restrained yet dangerous.
In Ronan's eyes, interacting with these familiar anime characters is an extremely interesting thing.
Although this world is real, it does not affect his subjective feelings about these characters in the story.
He enjoyed it.
Zoro half-opened his eyes and coldly stared at Usopp, who was sweating profusely with fear:
"Those standing before you are all real pirates!"
Luffy's imposing presence, Zoro's murderous aura, Ronan's restrained fighting spirit—
Three distinct yet equally dangerous auras pressed down on Usopp like three mountains.
Looking at the three imposing and menacing-looking guys in front of him, Usopp's hand holding the slingshot trembled even more, and sweat poured down his face like a waterfall.
He remained frozen for a few seconds before his feigned arrogance finally crumbled completely.
"Clatter".
Usopp's slingshot slowly loosened and fell to the ground.
His legs went weak, and he collapsed to the ground, as if he had lost his soul.
With his last ounce of strength, he looked up at the three people before him, his eyes filled with awe.
"As expected... the words and aura of a true pirate... are truly extraordinary! So... so powerful!"
Seeing Usopp's exaggerated expression of "utter awe", Ronan, Luffy, and Zoro finally couldn't hold back their serious expressions any longer.
They looked at each other and smiled, then burst into deafening laughter:
"Hahahaha—!!"
Luffy laughed so hard he almost fell over, and pointing at Usopp who was sprawled on the hillside, he loudly revealed the answer:
"—I learned it on the spot!"
"Huh?" Usopp looked surprised.
Luffy's smile faded, replaced by an expression of immense pride and nostalgia.
"That line was spoken by my respected pirate, Shanks!"
"Shanks... Shanks?!"
Usopp was even more shocked to hear the name than when he was frightened earlier.
He sprang to his feet, stammering, "You...you mean Red-Haired Shanks?! That great pirate?!"
Luffy nodded happily: "Yeah!" He carefully examined Usopp's appearance, then suddenly exclaimed "Ah!" as if he had remembered something.
"Your father is Yasopp, right?"
"—!!!"
These words struck Usopp like a bolt from the blue.
Startled, he slipped and lost his balance, tumbling down the hillside with a "rolling" sound, kicking up dust as he landed awkwardly in front of the group.
"Yospp...that's indeed my dad's name..." Usopp, ignoring the pain, looked up at Luffy in shock. "But...how did you know?!"
......
Through a simple conversation, the misunderstanding was cleared up, and Usopp discovered that Ronan and the others were not bad people.
Led by Usopp, the group arrived at the only restaurant in Syrup Village.
Luffy unceremoniously began his "eat and drink extravagantly" mode, while Ronan and Zoro also enjoyed the long-awaited food and drinks.
Usopp took a big bite out of a piece of bread and mumbled, "It's delicious, isn't it!"
While stuffing meat into his mouth, Luffy explained to Usopp:
"I saw your father at Shanks' place when I was a kid. You look exactly like him, that's why I recognized you at first glance!"
"My dad...was on Shanks' ship!"
Usopp excitedly put down his bread, his eyes shining with admiration. "I never imagined my dad was on such an amazing ship!"
Luffy nodded vigorously and swallowed his food: "Yeah! I'm not entirely sure right now, but they should still be together!"
He recalled his childhood with a tone full of admiration:
"Speaking of which, your father's marksmanship is really good! Yasopp is an exceptionally skilled pirate."
Ronan swallowed a large piece of meat and listened quietly to Luffy and Usopp's conversation.
When he heard that Yasopp had abandoned his wife and children for his dream, a barely perceptible hint of disdain flashed in his eyes.
In Ronan's value system, such behavior as Yasopp is met with utter contempt.
It's perfectly understandable that you want to pursue your dreams.
But either way, you should settle your wife and children first before you go;
Either don't get married or have children at all.
How is this jasmine made?
This is a classic example of wanting both ways and abandoning one's friends after getting back to the point.
Driven by selfish motives, he allowed his wife to die of illness and his son to become a "child left behind on the island."
It is easy to imagine how miserable Usopp's childhood was.
Ronan scoffed inwardly.
This distorted era of great piracy gave rise to too many tragedies, yet those living through it didn't even realize they were tragedies.
Sure enough, Usopp was still in a state of excitement, completely unaware of anything wrong with his father's behavior. Instead, he spoke with immense pride:
"Yes! I've always been incredibly proud of my dad, who risked everything to go to the sea and live on!"
Nami had no interest in this kind of "romance between men," and she astutely interrupted Usopp's sentimentality, bringing the topic back to reality.
She looked at Usopp and asked:
"I wonder if we could find a boatman and a large boat in your village?"
Usopp was pulled back to reality, and sighed, "As you can see, this is just a small village. I'm sorry to disappoint you!"
Just as Nami showed a disappointed expression, Zoro, who had been quietly drinking, suddenly glanced at the distant hills:
"There's a very big villa over there on the hill."
"villa?!"
Nami instantly regained full health.
She immediately turned to Usopp, her face beaming with an incredibly bright smile, her voice sickeningly sweet:
"Usopp, is that where your friend lives? Could you... ask him to help you out with some money?"
Upon hearing the word "villa," Usopp jumped up like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, frantically waving his hands and shouting, "No way! No way!"
He gave Ronan and the others a scrutinizing look, a forced smile that looked more like a grimace, then abruptly pushed aside the table in front of him.
"I suddenly remembered I have something urgent to do! I know the boss very well, so you guys can eat and drink as you please! I'm leaving, I'm leaving!"
Seeing him practically fleeing, Ronan quickly reached out and grabbed him:
"Hey, Usopp! Do you have a blacksmith shop around here?"
"Yes...yes, but he only makes farm tools! You'll see him if you turn right after you leave the restaurant!"
After saying that, Usopp ran out without looking back and disappeared around the corner in the blink of an eye.
