Pirates: Martial Arts Masters on the Straw Hat Ship

Chapter 8 Forging an Eight-Foot-Long Spear

Ronan knew that the kid had gone to brag to his childhood sweetheart, Kaya, again.

However, he had already found out where the blacksmith's shop was, and thought that forging an iron spear shouldn't be too difficult.

However, the next second, an embarrassing and cruel truth struck him.

He has no money.

After transmigrating, he didn't have a single penny on him; it's true what they say, even a hero can be brought down by a penny.

Ronan sighed, turned to Nami, and gave her a gentle yet purposeful smile: "Miss Nami..."

Nami immediately turned around, her eyes sharp: "What's wrong? Let me make this clear, I'm not lending you any money!"

Nami's ruthless words instantly shattered the gentle expression on Ronan's face, causing the corner of his mouth to twitch violently.

"However," Nami changed the subject, a shrewd smile typical of a money-grubber appearing on her lips, "if you really want to borrow, my interest rate is very high!"

Ronan looked at Nami's eyes, which were practically flashing with Beli symbols, and sighed helplessly, "No problem, I'll lend it to you!"

Nami's eyes lit up, and her tone immediately became excited: "How much do you want to borrow?"

Ronan said, "I want to forge an iron spear, but I wonder how much it will cost."

"Forging iron spears?"

Nami's interest was instantly piqued; she could already see the profits that the surging Beli would bring.

She immediately stood up and pulled Ronan up, "Let's go together! I'll check the price for you, so you don't get ripped off by the blacksmith!"

Luffy and Zoro also stood up immediately, with Luffy excitedly shouting:

"I want to go see it too!"

Zoro said calmly, "Then let's go together."

The four then left the restaurant and headed towards the blacksmith's shop.

Sure enough, not far from the restaurant, a simple blacksmith shop full of life appeared before the four of them.

The shop was scattered with farm tools such as iron hoes and rakes, and in the center was a forging furnace that was burning brightly.

Inside the shop, a man in his thirties or forties, dressed in coarse linen clothes and looking more like an honest farmer, was busy at work.

Ignoring the farm tools around him, Ronan walked straight into the shop and looked at the man: "Boss, can you make an iron spear?"

The boss looked up, surprised, at the group of young outsiders: "Iron spears? I've only ever made farm tools like iron shovels and picks, I've never made weapons before."

Ronan's eyes lit up as he looked at the iron pickaxe made entirely of iron next to the boss—he knew that this blacksmith had the skill of casting iron tools in one piece.

"Boss, it's very simple!"

Ronan asked his boss to find a piece of paper, and quickly drew the shape of the iron spear on it:

"It's like taking the techniques you use to make pickaxes and applying them to a long iron rod to forge a sharp spearhead!"

Ronan pointed to the blueprints and precisely stated the specifications:

"The shaft of the spear is as thick as a child's arm, and including the tip, it is one zhang and eight cun long!"

It looked exactly like a long spear.

The boss carefully examined Ronan's blueprints, thought for a moment, and nodded, saying, "I see, it can be built."

Ronan was secretly delighted: "Boss, how much?"

The boss held up five fingers: "Five thousand Berries!"

Ronan breathed a sigh of relief; for a specially made weapon, this price was incredibly reasonable: "Five thousand Berries, that's not expensive at all."

The shop owner explained with a smile, "Of course. It's mainly because the customer's gun is quite long, and they wanted it to be thick and heavy, which is why it's a bit more expensive."

Ronan immediately looked at Nami with a fawning smile: "Nami, come and pay the bill."

Nami, looking pained, reluctantly pulled five thousand Berries from her pocket, as if slamming it onto a counter: "Here, five thousand Berries, for you!"

Although 5,000 Berries wasn't a lot of money for Nami, she was still very unwilling to see the money disappear from her hands.

She glared at Ronan fiercely and warned him:

"Ronan! You'd better pay me back right now! Otherwise, the interest will keep going up!"

Ronan gave Nami a confident yet gentle look:

"Don't worry, I can afford to pay back this amount of Pele."

The blacksmith took the money and nodded, saying, "Young man, you can come and pick it up tomorrow morning."

Following that, led by the three children under Usopp's command, Ronan and his companions followed the mountain path to the gate of a magnificent mansion at the highest point in the village.

Looking at the magnificent European-style villa before him, Luffy couldn't help but exclaim in amazement, "Wow! It's huge!"

The three children who had led the way watched the gate warily and whispered, "If the captain disappeared at this time, he must be here."

Luffy asked, puzzled, "What's Usopp doing here?"

One of the children, whose hair covered their eyes, answered directly, "Trying to lie!"

Upon hearing this, Nami frowned and looked at the child: "How can this be! Lying is wrong!"

The other child immediately puffed out his chest and retorted, "No way! It's a wonderful thing!"

Even the usually silent Zoro looked puzzled and asked the children, "What do you mean by that?"

The children offered their explanations all at once:

"Miss Kaya, who lives in this villa, is frail and sickly. In addition, she has been depressed ever since her parents passed away a year ago."

"No matter how rich you are, there's nothing more tragic than this, isn't there?"

"So the captain used his favorite bragging stories to make her laugh!"

"The captain's bragging skills are top-notch!"

Ronan looked at the scene before him and understood.

He knew that Usopp's lies were not evil, but rather well-intentioned meddling.

He didn't spoil anything for Luffy and the others; he simply watched quietly as everything unfolded before his eyes.

Luffy listened to the children's sincere stories, his eyes filled with respect: "Isn't he amazing?"

The children nodded in unison: "Yes!"

"I like the captain's meddlesome nature."

"I like that he has leadership skills."

"I like that he loves to brag."

The three children took turns expressing their love and pride for Usopp.

Nami's eyes softened upon hearing this. She bent down and asked with concern, "So, is Miss feeling any better?"

The children proudly replied, "Much better!"

Upon hearing this, Luffy clapped his hands excitedly: "Great! Now that she's better, let's go ask her if she can give us a ship!"

Ronan and Zoro looked toward the mansion's entrance, where two burly men with unfriendly expressions stood.

The children sighed, "It's difficult enough just to get in; there are very strict guards at the entrance."

Just then, Luffy, like a monkey, leaped onto the iron fence of the villa.

Zoro asked in confusion, "Luffy?"

Luffy turned around with a smile: "I'll go ask!"

As he spoke, he gripped the top of the iron fence with both arms and stretched his body backward.

Zoro's eyes widened in astonishment: "You mean...?"

The children cried out in terror, "The arms have stretched out?!"

Luffy pressed his body against the ground, like a taut rubber band, just as he was about to spring away—

Ronan, Zoro, and Nami instinctively hugged his bouncy body tightly!

"Bang—!"

With a deafening roar, the immense accumulated elastic force exploded instantly!
