Simultaneous Transmigration: From Douluo Continent to the Pinnacle

Chapter 365 Enjoying It to the Fullest, Genos

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the sparse clouds, casting a golden halo over the lawn outside the villa.

A gentle breeze carried the scents of earth and grass, and a few sparrows chirped on the branches, making everything seem so peaceful and serene.

Lin Yao, dressed in loose sportswear, was leisurely doing his morning exercise in the courtyard outside the villa.

His movements were slow and natural, sometimes stretching his arms and sometimes twisting his waist, looking just like an ordinary office worker doing morning exercises.

But if you look closely, you'll find that each of his breaths is long and even, as if he is one with the surrounding world.

The grass beneath his feet swayed gently with his movements, as if paying homage to him.

Lin Yao had just finished a set of Tai Chi and was about to go to the yard to water the flowers when he caught a glimpse of a gaze watching him from not far away.

Lin Yao looked up and followed that gaze, and saw a young man standing on the street corner.

The man appeared to be in his early twenties, tall and slender, wearing a black jacket and dark trousers. He was handsome with well-defined features, and his short blond hair gleamed faintly in the sunlight. But what was most striking were certain parts of his body—the grooved areas on his arms and calves—clearly covered with metallic armor, and intricate mechanical structures could be seen subtly rotating at the joints.

This is a cyborg, semi-mechanized.

With just a glance, Lin Yao was able to confirm the identity of the person before him. In the world of One-Punch Man, there was no one else besides Genos who could modify their body to this extent and possess such a young and handsome appearance.

Moreover, judging from the battle marks on his body, he had clearly just gone through a fierce fight. There were several deep scratches on the armor of his left arm, and the joint of his right leg was also loose, indicating that he had suffered considerable damage.

Genos stood on the street corner, looking at Lin Yao respectfully, motionless. His eyes were filled with awe and gratitude, as well as an inexplicable longing. He stood there blankly, as if waiting for something.

Lin Yao stopped his morning exercise and waved to him: "Hey buddy over there, did you need something?"

Upon hearing this, Genos's body trembled slightly, as if he had been startled awake. He took a deep breath and strode towards Lin Yao. His steps were steady and powerful, each one firm and resolute, demonstrating his unwavering determination.

Upon reaching Lin Yao, Genos bowed deeply and said solemnly, "Mr. Lin Yao, thank you so much for saving my life yesterday! Without your help, I'm afraid I would have died at the hands of Mosquito Girl!"

Lin Yao paused for a moment, then recalled what had happened yesterday. He remembered being woken up by the buzzing of mosquitoes in the morning, and casually swatting one of them to death. As for what kind of mosquito it was, he didn't care at all.

"Oh, you mean that?" Lin Yao waved his hand dismissively, "It's nothing, just a small favor. Those mosquitoes were too noisy and disturbed my sleep."

Upon hearing this, Genos's lips twitched slightly. The Dragon-level monster that had torn him apart to the brink of self-destruction was described by this powerful figure as nothing more than a "noisy mosquito"? This disparity in strength left him feeling a profound sense of powerlessness.

But he quickly composed himself and bowed again, saying, "No matter what, you saved my life, and I will definitely repay this kindness!"

Lin Yao scratched his head and said somewhat helplessly, "Really, there's no need to be so polite. I was just waving my hand casually."

Genos didn't get up. Instead, he raised his head, looked at Lin Yao with unwavering eyes, and said, word by word, "Mr. Lin Yao, please take me as your apprentice! I want to become a hero as powerful as you!"

After saying that, he knelt down, his knees hitting the ground heavily with a dull thud.

Lin Yao was startled by this sudden action and quickly reached out to help him up: "Hey, hey, what are you doing? Get up!"

"Please take me as your apprentice!" Genos stubbornly knelt on the ground, refusing to get up. "I'm willing to pay any price, just please guide me to become stronger!"

Looking at his earnest expression, Lin Yao couldn't help but sigh. He remembered that in the original story, Genos was just such a persistent person. After being saved by Saitama, he devoted himself to Saitama and became his disciple. Now, he had taken Saitama's place and become the one who saved him.

The problem is, he doesn't want to take on any apprentices.

"Get up and talk to me first." Lin Yao forcefully pulled Genos up, patting the dust off his shoulders. "It's not that I don't want to teach you, it's just that I'm really not suited to be a teacher. I'm still figuring things out myself, how could I be qualified to teach others?"

Genos opened his mouth as if to say something, but Lin Yao interrupted him by raising his hand.

"However, I can recommend someone to you," Lin Yao said with a smile. "Go find a bald guy. He lives in Z City, wears a yellow combat suit, and has a white cape. His name is Saitama, and he's very strong, even stronger than me."

Genos was taken aback: "Even more powerful than you?"

"That's right." Lin Yao nodded, saying earnestly, "His strength is second only to mine."

Genos fell silent. He looked at Lin Yao's handsome face, then thought about the "sloppy bald head" Lin Yao had described, and a hint of doubt arose in his heart. A bald head, wearing a yellow combat suit and a white cloak... he didn't sound like a strongman at all.

But these words were spoken by Lin Yao, his savior, so he chose to believe them.

"I understand." Genos nodded. "I'll go find Mr. Saitama."

Lin Yao nodded in satisfaction: "Go ahead, he lives in Z City, you can find him there."

That afternoon, Genos found Saitama's place.

It was a dilapidated apartment building with peeling paint on the exterior walls, cluttered hallways, and a musty smell permeating the air. Saitama's room was on the second floor, with a note pasted on the door bearing the two crookedly written characters "Saitama."

Genos stood in front of the door, took a deep breath, and then knocked.

dong dong dong.

After a while, the door was opened a crack, and a bald man peeked out. He was wearing a wrinkled white T-shirt and gray shorts, with slippers on his feet. He looked disheveled and didn't look like a hero at all.

"Who is it?" Saitama yawned, rubbing his sleepy eyes. "What's up?"

Genos looked at the disheveled bald man before him and a hint of doubt crept into his heart. Was this person really the "second only to him" powerhouse that Mr. Lin Yao had mentioned? He didn't seem like it at all.

But he still mustered his courage and said, "Hello, are you Mr. Saitama? I'm Genos, and Mr. Lin Yao recommended me to come find you. I'd like to become your apprentice!"

Saitama paused for a moment, then scratched his bald head: "Become an apprentice? I don't take on apprentices."

Genos quickly replied, "I can pay the apprenticeship fee!"

Saitama's eyes lit up immediately: "Apprenticeship fee? How much?"

Genos pulled a wad of banknotes from his pocket and handed it over: "This is 100,000 yen, my apprenticeship fee."

Saitama stared wide-eyed at the wad of banknotes. He quickly took them, counted them, and stuffed them into his pocket, a bright smile spreading across his face. "You can be my master! Uh, no, you can be my apprentice! Just take the apprenticeship fee, shall we become apprentices now? Or are there any requirements?"

Genos watched Saitama's lifelike transformation and a hint of hesitation arose in his heart. He couldn't help but glance in the direction of Lin Yao's villa in the distance, then at the money-grubbing bald man in front of him. After a pause, he cautiously said, "How about... you punch me and let me see how strong you are?"

Saitama paused for a moment, then said, "I'll punch you? Are you sure?"

Genos nodded: "Agreed."

Saitama scratched his bald head. Although he didn't understand why someone wanted him to hit him, since the other party had made such a request, and it was his own apprentice who had been paid to make the request, he might as well grant it.

"Then hold on tight," Saitama said, then casually threw a punch.

A minute later, Genos lay in a huge crater, smoking and barely conscious. His body was damaged in many places, his armor was shattered, and his circuits were short-circuited, emitting a crackling sound.

But a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

He saw that punch.

That was a power he had never seen before, a power he had always dreamed of. That pure, overwhelming, and unreasonable strength was exactly what he had been pursuing.

He crawled out of the crater, staggered to Saitama, and knelt down: "Master Saitama, please take me as your disciple!"

Saitama scratched his bald head, somewhat embarrassed, and said, "Um... you've already paid the apprenticeship fee, so you don't need to kneel anymore."

Genos looked up and then at Lin Yao, who had somehow arrived and was leaning against the wall watching the commotion. Genos added, "Please accept this as well, Teacher Lin Yao!"

Lin Yao rolled his eyes, speechless. "I never agreed to take you in."

But Genos had already decided on these two teachers and refused to change his mind. In the end, Lin Yao could only sigh helplessly and let him be. Saitama, on the other hand, gladly accepted the apprenticeship fee, was in a great mood, and even invited Genos into his house for tea.

From then on, Genos began his full-time babysitter mode. Every morning, he would get up on time to prepare breakfast for Saitama and Lin Yao, clean their rooms, do laundry, buy groceries, and cook—his housework skills were instantly maxed out. Saitama was very satisfied, feeling that he had made a great deal of money by taking on this apprentice. Lin Yao, on the other hand, was somewhat amused and exasperated, feeling like he had inexplicably acquired a butler.

A few days later, one evening, assassins from the House of Evolution launched a surprise attack.

Lin Yao was sitting in the living room reading when he suddenly sensed an unusual presence coming from outside the window. He looked up and saw a giant mantis-like monster perched on the windowsill, its compound eyes coldly staring at him, and its two scythe-like forelimbs gleaming with a chilling light.

"Sorry to disturb my reading." Lin Yao frowned and waved his hand casually.

A flash of silvery light streaked across the sky, and the mantis monster didn't even have time to let out a scream before turning to ashes in the light. Outside the window, the other five monsters, seeing this, turned and ran in terror.

Lin Yao was too lazy to chase after him. He glanced at Saitama, who was washing dishes in the kitchen, and called out, "Saitama, a monster has escaped. Go and deal with it."

"Oh, they're here." Saitama put down his chopsticks, walked to the window, glanced at the five fleeing monsters, then casually grabbed a vase next to him and smashed it at one of them.

boom!

The strange man was hit squarely and collapsed to the ground, unable to get up.

"Good aim," Lin Yao praised.

"Hehe, no big deal." Saitama scratched his bald head, then grabbed something else next to him—this time a chair—and hurled it at another monster.

Bang! Another one.

Lin Yao shook his head as he looked at him. He stood up, walked to Saitama's side, grabbed him by the back of his collar, and lifted him up.

"Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?" Saitama struggled.

"To save you some effort," Lin Yao said, throwing Saitama like a shot put.

Saitama traced a graceful parabola through the air, striking the remaining three monsters precisely. With a deafening boom, the three monsters were stunned and instantly lost consciousness.

"Done." Lin Yao clapped his hands, sat back down on the sofa, and picked up his book to continue reading.

Genos stood to the side, dumbfounded. He had thought he had witnessed the power of his two teachers, but now it seemed that what he had seen was only the tip of the iceberg.

After a brief interrogation, Lin Yao learned that the mastermind was Dr. Genus of the House of Evolution. That mad scientist had clearly taken an interest in him and wanted to capture him for experiments.

"Dr. Genos..." Lin Yao pondered for a moment, then said to Saitama and Genos, "You two, go and take down the House of Evolution. It'll be good for Genos to practice his skills too."

"No problem." Saitama nodded, then looked at Genos, "Apprentice, let's go, Master will take you to fight monsters."

"Yes, teacher!" Genos followed with great enthusiasm.

"Oh, right," Lin Yao called out to them again, "after you're done dealing with this, go and report to the Hero Association. I heard that some monster called Deep Sea King is going to land here soon, go and check it out."

"Understood." Saitama waved his hand and disappeared into the night with Genos.

After seeing the two off, Lin Yao sat back down on the sofa, just as he was about to continue reading, when the doorbell rang.

Ding-dong-

Lin Yao put down his book and went to open the door. Standing outside was a young woman wearing a purple dress.

She had long, flowing black hair with neat bangs that framed her delicate, petite face. Her skin was as white as snow, her large eyes were clear and bright, her eyelashes long and thick, and her lips were slightly pursed, revealing a hint of stubbornness. She had a slender, graceful figure, and her long purple dress accentuated her beautiful curves, giving her an air of intellectual elegance.

Hellfire Blizzard – the number one B-class hero, and also the number two S-class hero, and the younger sister of Tornado the Terrifying.

"Fubuki? What brings you here?" Lin Yao asked, somewhat surprised.

Fubuki didn't answer immediately. Instead, she looked him up and down to make sure he wasn't injured before letting out a sigh of relief: "I heard there was a large-scale battle on the outskirts of City A a few days ago. I was worried that something might have happened to you, so I came to check on you."

"I'm fine." Lin Yao stepped aside to let the doorway open. "Come in and sit down."

Fubuki walked into the living room and sat down on the sofa. Lin Yao poured her a cup of tea and sat down opposite her.

Fubuki held her teacup but didn't drink. Instead, she lowered her head and remained silent for a while. Then, she looked up at Lin Yao and asked, "What about that bald guy who appeared at your house yesterday, and that half-mechanical guy?"

Lin Yao picked up his teacup, took a sip, and said calmly, "Just a friend and his newly accepted apprentice."

"Friends?" Fubuki frowned slightly. "How come I didn't know you had friends like that?"

"We just met," Lin Yao smiled. "He's a very interesting person, and quite capable. I'll introduce you two sometime."

Fubuki nodded and didn't ask any further questions. But there was a complex look in her eyes as she looked at Lin Yao.

After a brief silence, Fubuki took a deep breath, her gaze hardening. She put down her teacup, looked at Lin Yao for a long while, leaving him somewhat bewildered.

Then, she suddenly reached out and gently touched Lin Yao's head.

Lin Yao was taken aback: "Fubuki?"

Fubuki's hand lingered on his hair for a moment before she withdrew it. A faint blush appeared on her face, but she quickly concealed it.

"Fubuki, just say what's on your mind. Why are you being so polite with me?" Lin Yao said with a smile, his tone friendly and casual.

Hearing Lin Yao's intimate words, Fubuki's blush deepened. She lowered her head, her hands gripping the hem of her skirt tightly, her fingertips turning slightly white. Then, she raised her head, looking at Lin Yao with unwavering determination, and said, word by word, "Yao-kun, can you make me stronger?"

Lin Yao was taken aback: "Get stronger?"

"Yes." Fubuki nodded, her eyes shining with determination. "I don't want to be stuck in rank B anymore. I want to become stronger, I want to surpass my sister, Tatsumaki."

Lin Yao looked into her determined eyes and felt a slight stirring in his heart.

In the original story, Fubuki always lived in the shadow of her older sister, Tatsumaki. She admired her sister, yet feared her, and could never escape her inferiority complex. She formed the Fubuki Group, gathering a group of B-class heroes, trying to prove her worth in her own way. But in the end, that way was just self-comfort.

But now, she actually said something like "I want to surpass my sister Tornado".

Lin Yao knew this must be due to his influence. Because of his presence, the younger sister, Fubuki, had someone else to rely on, and at the same time, she had developed a stronger competitive spirit. She was no longer content to hide in her sister's shadow; she wanted to forge her own path.

"Have you thought it through?" Lin Yao asked. "Becoming stronger isn't easy. You need to be prepared to endure hardship."

"I've made up my mind." Fubuki nodded firmly. "No matter how hard or tiring it is, I will persevere."

Looking at her stubborn little face, Lin Yao couldn't help but smile.

"Okay, then I'll teach you."
