"Uchiha brat, you can go back to your coffin!" Danzo snarled.
Sasuke's Mangekyou Sharingan spun slightly, a cold glint appearing at the corner of his mouth. His body was suddenly enveloped in a layer of azure chakra, the skeleton of Susanoo solidified, then flesh and blood grew, armor appeared, and in the blink of an eye, he transformed into a hundred-foot-tall giant. Complete Susanoo.
In those enormous chakra hands gripped a blade of light powerful enough to cleave mountains. Sasuke raised the blade, employing no fancy techniques, just a simple, powerful sweep.
As the blade flashed, the Five Elements Great Combo Technique was instantly annihilated, its aftershocks transforming into a towering wave of flames. The Reverse Four Symbols Sealing Array was also cleaved in two with a single strike, its black light scattering and disintegrating. The blade's momentum remained undiminished, passing by Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo, striking the mountain behind them—an entire mountain collapsed with a deafening roar, cascading down like a waterfall, sending up a cloud of snow and mist.
The entire ruins of the venue fell into silence.
Onoki hovered in mid-air, silently watching the Susanoo giant sheathe its sword, the wrinkles on his face seeming to deepen. Mei Terumi stood in the distance, her teacup long gone, her eyes gleaming with a complex light. Gaara's sand flowed silently between his palms, his gaze carrying a scrutinizing solemnity.
"Konoha... they actually have this kind of power." Onoki murmured. "The Mangekyou Sharingan, the Complete Susanoo—this is a level that only Madara Uchiha could achieve in legend."
"This is going to be interesting," Mei Terumi said softly, a hint of amusement in her voice. "Konoha has so many trump cards up its sleeve, it's making the other ninja villages uneasy."
The four reanimated humans on the battlefield, shattered by that single strike, were slowly regenerating their bodies. But at that very moment, a deep voice echoed from the darkness at the edge of the battlefield: "You lot, haven't you had enough?"
Obito appeared above a broken stone wall, his Rinnegan in his right eye gleaming with a cold light. He glanced at the mountain Sasuke had shattered, a hint of gloom flashing in his eyes, then raised his hand and formed a hand seal: "Since one or two aren't enough, let's summon more. Impure World Reincarnation—"
The ground trembled once more, and new coffins rose from the depths of the snowfield, their lids bearing various chakra markings. A smile appeared beneath Obito's mask: "Let these fallen powerhouses give your 'Kage-sama' a good welcome."
However, before he could finish speaking, a figure had already stood in the center of the battlefield.
Tsunade. A mysterious purple mark appeared on her forehead—the Cursed Seal Sage Mode pattern. The mark bloomed like a purple sun between her brows, and her aura surged instantly, as if a long-dormant ancient beast had awakened. Even more astonishingly, the moment she pressed her hands to the ground, countless towering trees sprouted wildly from beneath the snowfield, their branches and leaves blotting out the sky, their roots crisscrossing and intertwining, transforming the entire battlefield into an ancient forest in just a few breaths.
Wood Release: Descent of the Tree World
"This is... the First Hokage's Wood Release?!" Onoki's pupils constricted sharply. He hovered in the air, looking down at the forest that had appeared out of nowhere, his voice trembling, "Konoha actually possesses both the legendary powers of Wood Release and the Mangekyou Sharingan?"
"This is really..." Mei Terumi murmured, "Konoha has far too many trump cards up its sleeve."
Beneath Obito's mask, the pupil of his single eye contracted slightly. His original plan was to use the Impure World Reincarnation to summon more powerful individuals to crush the Five Kage Summit, but the strength Tsunade and Sasuke were displaying had already exceeded his expectations. What unsettled him even more was that he sensed a familiar, threatening aura emanating from these powers.
In that instant, a dark figure appeared silently beside him. Obito turned his head sharply, meeting Sasuke's Mangekyou Sharingan—Tsukuyomi.
The world of illusion unfolded instantly. The scene before Obito's eyes distorted violently; the battlefield, the forest, the snowfield—all vanished, replaced by a warm and bright twilight. A small river flowed quietly, and a girl sat on the grassy bank, her short, dark brown hair gently blowing in the evening breeze, a gentle smile on her round face.
Obito froze on the spot.
Rin Nohara.
She sat there, alive and well, smiling just as I remembered.
Obito's heart pounded violently, and he opened his mouth, but no sound came out.
But the next second, Obito's pupils suddenly contracted.
Standing beside Rin was another man—Uchiha Yao. He looked down at Rin, his gaze gentle and focused, one hand resting naturally on her shoulder. Rin's profile held a gentle smile that Obito had never seen before, a smile full of trust and intimacy. She tilted her head slightly, said something to Yao, and then her gaze fell on Obito on the opposite bank of the river. That smile vanished instantly, like a lamp blown out by the wind. In its place was a cold look of disgust, as if he were looking at a filthy water ghost crawling up from the bottom of the river.
"Obito," Rin spoke, her voice as cold as frost, "Why are you still standing here?"
Obito's feet seemed to have taken root. He opened his mouth, his throat bobbing, but no sound came out.
"You've killed so many innocent people." Lin stood up, took Yao's hand, and slowly walked to the riverbank. Looking down at him across the narrow expanse of water, she said, "You trampled Yahiko's dreams underfoot. You manipulated the water shadows, instigated wars, and slaughtered your own people. You used my name as an excuse, yet you did the things I hate most. Did you think I would thank you for everything you did for me? You were just destroying the world of the living for a dead person who no longer exists."
"Rin, I—" Obito's voice cracked in his throat.
"You are not worthy to call my name," Rin said coldly. She turned her head and looked at Yao with a soft light in her eyes that felt like an ice pick piercing Obito's heart. "I chose Yao. He will build a truly peaceful world. He will make the ninja world free from war and sacrifice. And you... your Eye of the Moon world is just a madman's delusional dream to comfort himself."
Obito stumbled. His footsteps rippled the water, creating concentric circles of waves. He watched Rin and You stand side by side, watching Rin gently take You's arm with the hand he had longed to touch countless times. In the twilight light, they looked like figures in a painting. And he himself was merely a forgotten, pathetic shadow outside that halo of light.
"No...it's not like that!" Obito roared as he rushed across the water, trying to grab Rin's hand. But his fingertips pierced through her body, like passing through the moon's reflection in the water. He collapsed to the ground, covered in mud, and when he turned around, Rin had already retreated to a greater distance with You, still looking down at him with that cold gaze.
"Don't you understand?" Lin said softly, "You have nothing left."
The scene shifts. Obito finds himself standing before a tombstone. The tombstone is inscribed with "The Grave of Uchiha Obito," and beside him stands Rin, dressed in black, holding a bouquet of white chrysanthemums, her expression indifferent and serene. You walks up behind her, places a similar bouquet of white chrysanthemums before the tombstone, and whispers, "May he be a sane person in his next life." Rin nods gently, then takes You's arm and turns to leave, never looking back.
Obito knelt before his own tombstone, watching the two figures recede into the sunset, and finally let out a mournful cry like a wild beast.
"What am I, in the end..." he murmured, his forehead slamming heavily against the cold tombstone.
The second illusion. Obito sees Rin and You in a non-existent future, where they have built a peaceful world together. There is no war, no Akatsuki, no Eye of the Moon Project. Rin is teaching children to read in a bright room, while You stands by the window, holding an infant in his arms. Sunlight streams in from the window, bathing them in a warm, white halo. Obito stands outside the window, like a ghost forever unable to reach that warmth. Rin occasionally looks up at him outside the window; her gaze remains cold, carrying a hint of disgust and pity.
"You think you love me?" Lin's voice echoed in my mind. "No, you don't even know what love looks like. What you love is the world you're supposed to protect, but you've already destroyed it with your own hands."
The scene before Obito's eyes twisted, shattered, and reformed time and again. Each time, Rin accompanied You in a different way: she was wrapped in their wedding attire, caressing their child, leaning against You's chest, whispering those tender words that Obito had once dreamed of, words that now belonged to someone else. Each time, she looked back at him with even more venomous eyes and more resolute words, as if he had died completely in her life, as if even his name on her tombstone should be worn away by the wind and rain.
In the illusion, Obito chased after her again and again, only to miss and fall to his knees each time. Rin's indifference and contempt repeatedly ground at the wounds in his heart, like a dull knife slowly shattering the obsession he had held onto for twenty years. His spirit repeatedly collapsed and rebuilt between madness and collapse, like a drowning person thrown into an endless abyss, each struggle only making him fall deeper.
He knelt on the riverbank one last time, his face covered in blood and tears, his hands supporting him on the ground, his whole body trembling. He looked up and saw Lin standing far away in the sunset, her face blurred, silent, leaving only her back to him. That back gradually faded into the distance, disappearing into the light of the sky, as if it had never existed.
"Ah—" Obito let out a heart-wrenching roar, a desperate howl he finally reached the edge of his mind after experiencing countless cruel illusions.
In the real world, however, all of this happens in an instant.
Snowflakes drifted slowly down from the sky, and time seemed to stand still. Obito's consciousness was completely controlled by Tsukuyomi, and his body stood frozen in place, motionless. Blood vessels bulged in his eyes beneath his mask, and his chakra trembled violently like uncontrolled flames, making him resemble a stone statue crumbling from within.
Uchiha Yao appeared behind him without any hesitation.
A Susanoo, entirely black and gleaming with a dark luster, rose from his body. Its skeleton, flesh, and armor coalesced layer by layer in an incredibly short time, transforming into a giant as enormous as Sasuke's complete form. The giant wielded a long, narrow katana, its blade wreathed in black Amaterasu flames refined by Kagutsuchi. The flames burned silently, seemingly unmoved even by the wind.
Yao said nothing more, nor did he gather any more momentum. He simply raised the sword burning with black flames high in his hand, and then simply slashed it forward.
The sword drew a black arc through the snowy sky. Wherever the blade passed, space seemed to be cleaved open, the wind stopped abruptly, the falling snow halted, and an immeasurable pressure pressed down on Obito's location as if the entire sky itself were bearing down on him. The Susanoo's blade sliced through Obito's right arm with almost no resistance; the arm severed from Obito's body, crimson blood gushing from the cut before being enveloped by Amaterasu's black flames and turning to ash. The aftershocks of the blade's force continued, slicing fiercely into the earth, tearing a trench tens of miles long. The rumbling sound of the earth splitting apart shook the surrounding area, and the trench was quickly filled with water gushing from underground, transforming into a long, black river amidst the wind and snow.
Black Zetsu's senses fluctuated wildly in that instant. He was lurking at the edge of the battlefield, waiting for his chance, when he suddenly sensed Obito's mental state becoming extremely unstable—Tsukuyomi's genjutsu was eroding Obito's will, while Yao's slash from outside had already severed one of his arms. One step slower, and Obito would have been cleaved in two by that black flame blade.
Black Zetsu's entire body transformed into a jet-black, viscous fluid, burrowing into the ground at a speed imperceptible to normal humans. It traversed layers of tree roots and rubble, and just before Obito's body collapsed, it suddenly channeled all of its chakra into Obito's spiritual circulation. That influx of chakra, like a bucket of ice water, tore a crack in the Tsukuyomi illusion from within. Obito's consciousness, like a drowning person being pulled to the surface, abruptly rose from the illusion.
The moment he opened his eyes, blood and tears streamed down his face, two crimson streams trickling down the edge of his mask. Before he could even distinguish between dream and reality, a wave of excruciating pain washed over him from the severed part of his right arm. He screamed, clutching his empty shoulder, his whole body trembling. His face beneath the mask was already distorted beyond recognition. He staggered backward, his other intact hand gathering the divine power of a spatial vortex. Before Yao's blade could fall again, he twisted and disappeared into a spiraling void rift.
"You... all deserve to die..." Obito's voice echoed from the spatial rift, hoarse and violent, "Konoha... Uchiha... and that so-called Allied Shinobi Forces... I swear, I will wipe you all, along with this corrupt shinobi world, completely!"
His figure vanished without a trace, leaving only a few drops of blood on the snow, which were quickly evaporated by the black flames.
With Obito's departure, the chakra supply for the Impure World Reincarnation technique abruptly ceased. The Impure World Reincarnated individuals who had been fighting on the snowfield stopped in unison, a layer of gray ash rising from their bodies before they collapsed like sand sculptures.
